We started an MGA (men's golf association) at the club this year and we are going to have the opportunity to play in some inter club matches, as of now I have qualified for the 1st match on May 9, this should be a fun opportunity to meet new folks and play new courses for discounted prices

In northern Virginia, we have a league that includes 20 private clubs.  The handicaps must be 5 or higher, and no higher than 16.  We play 8 matches per year, each of which includes three 4-ball matches at each club.  Eight teams make the playoffs each year.  The league is an absolute blast, whether playing at home or away.  Its fun to compete, fun to meet new people, and to see other golf courses.  I hope you have as much fun with your matches as we do around here.

Love team golf, the Bristol golf league (here in the UK) has 6 divisions with matches played from May to September, mostly after work but some at weekends. We play home and away games and have some food afterwards.

All played in foursomes with no handicaps. Level of golf varies but this is mostly the better players in the club; I play for the second team at my club and quite often end up playing players close or below scratch - amazing how often you roll them over as well, foursomes is a great leveller.

There are also then social matches played as friendlies with hcps in play.

Social side of team golf is great

They are an absolute blast.  The team matches in the Philly PGA section are one of the things that I really miss in the move to NY.  Met a lot of great people and played some fantastic courses in the ten years that I played in the matches.

Around me every course has their own men's league. I love the fact you go out there and play skins, plus it's awesome to see the same guys every week. Unfortuantly it also means the clientele is spread out amongst the 3-4 courses that offer leagues.

Just an update, my club has won its first three matches of the season.  Since I'm the captain, pick the players for each match, set up all the pairings, etc, I plan to take complete credit.  When we lose a match, on the other hand, its going to be completely the fault of the players.
