  1. Past hour
  2. Since I got my push cart, I’ve been happy to fill the ball pouch up. I usually have a box or 2 of new balls from my last bulk purchase and 10-20 second hand balls for the bad rounds or if I forget to refill and run out of new ones! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Short answer would be too many. I would guess at least 2 dozen. I never carry my bag, so weight isn't an issue. I guess I'm a packrat. I always have way more crap in my bag than I actually need. It's a running joke with my usual foursome. If somebody needs something, chances are pretty good that I have one somewhere in the bag. LOL.
  4. I was able to slip away from work for a bit to join this call and it was amazing! Thank you MGS for setting this one up. I look forward to the future calls
  5. Depends on the tee time. Morning tee times try to be there at least an hour before. Afternoon tee times after work or class, try to get there 30 minutes before if possible. If I’m running short on time then I’ll warm up and stretch at the first tee box.
  6. First off, just take the scorecard and mark an eagle on every hole. There will always be one or two teams that come in with some BS score. So just start there. Off the tee: Most accurate up first, regardless of length. Get one in play. Next two guys can swing out of their shoes. Last guy will likely be your best combo of length and accuracy with nerves of steel in case the other 3 screw the team off the tee. Approach play is pretty much the same. Best/2nd best first, followed by the 2 question marks, and lastly either the best or 2nd best approach player. This can adjust based on par and distance. Putting, as mentioned, is the most important. Take either the best or 2nd best guy up first. Give the chance to make right away, but if not the others should get a great read for their putts. Last guy is either the best or most nervy, where the middle 2 are just those "other" guys. But, in the end, have some fun. Most scrambles are charitable events. So enjoy the time, and help the charity however you can.
  7. I live in Central New York. Actually, very close to the Turning Stone resort and casino. The courses there are really beautiful and immaculately maintained. They are, however, pretty expensive. There are many nice courses in this area (more than 10) within a 30 minute drive that can be played for around 50 bucks with a cart.
  8. Overall, I can hit both and have switched back and forth on which one I use the most. I prefer a draw because its just more natural for me, and I can control how far it draws better than I can control how far it fades. Driver I draw, my driver miss is a push and its hard for me to keep a push fade in the fairway while a draw brings that push a little more back on track. 3-wood & long irons (3/4/5) I switch depending on if I am shooting at a green or not. Hard for me to hold greens if I don't fade these. Short irons & wedges I draw. I have never been good at controlling my spin here which is why I don't fade them. When I try to spin a ball back it might stick, or it might spin back off the green. I would rather just hit my number with a draw and it doesn't move much after that unless its out of the thick stuff. Then I can easily plan for a little rollout.
  9. I’ve always wanted to have a full set of Vokeys but have never been able to get myself to do it. I’ve tried them out before and they’re my favorite wedges I’ve hit. Would love to see how a fitting for wedges would help too since I don’t have too much understanding of the different effects bounce or grind can have. I’m looking forward to hearing what people think of these!
  10. Generally an hour early to load up the cart with clubs for my wife and I, then I usually head to the putting green because the range is nearly always full of players that have an earlier tee time than ours. I just getting the speed de jour down, so I don't spend much time there. Short walk to the pitching green and hit a dozen balls from 30y or so to warm up. My wife shows up by then and does the same; I head to the range. After a few full swings with driver to loosen up, I typically hit an 8i to a flag in the range... maybe 6-8 balls; then about 10 driver shots. Done. Back to the clubhouse... for #1, then off to the #1 tee.
  11. The only reason to have the shortest driver go first is to make them feel like they are contributing. In a not so perfect world, you would never use their drive anyway. If the best driver hammers the first one everytime, even if in the rough, the shortest guy doesn't need to hit and can start to feel left out. You want everyone to feel responsible for the team outcome, letting the shortest guy hit first does that.
  12. I like to get out as one of the first tee times in the morning so any more than 20-30 minutes requires an earlier wake up than I’m interested in! Enough time to set up the push cart and bag the way I want for the round and a quick chipping and putting session and I’m off. If only I had no responsibilities and all the time in the world maybe I’d have time to warm up on the range someday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I typically try to be there at least 30 minutes ahead of time. 45 minutes feels like my sweet spot time, but it depends on various factors. If I have one or both of my little guys with me, we usually are only 15-20 minutes early because it just works better for them. If I am going to play with friends or a solo round and my wife has both boys, it's usually 30 minutes max. 4 hours alone with our wild children can get to be a lot, so I try not to ask too much extra of her as I value her time during those rounds.
  14. Great choice. That would be my color pick too I think. My thought is, it's an Autoflex and you're going to have a fun time testing for us all, so you might as well pick something bright that stands out. It's no time to be reserved
  15. Definely depends on if there is a range or not. If there is then atleast an hour considering if i have nothing else going on before. That way i can take my time getting my stuff exactly how I like it. But if there is no range then like 30-40 mins. I hate rushing feom the car to the Tbox
  16. Not sure if this is allowed here, but got a BlueTees coupon emailed the other day. 10% off with code BLUE10 - it's not a ton, but seems to work on everything!
  17. Great opportunity especially for many people (including myself) who can’t afford a new set. Good luck everybody!!
  18. I received my two dozen of Bridgestone Tour B RX Mindset balls today. So, starting next Thursday (my next round) and the month of May, I'll be dedicated to utilizing the Mindset principles (prompted by the graphic) to see what impact (if any) they have on my overall performance. Above, you'll see I played four rounds with a Tour B RX to see how it stacked up against my current go-to ball Maxfli Tour S. The numbers suggest that both balls performed equally as well with the same distance, accuracy and score-wise. That should remove any significant performance number impact by switching balls leaving me to focus on the impact of following the Mindset philosophy. Packaging seemed consistent with every other dozen golf balls packages I've gotten in the past with the exception of the enclosed Mindset card. The 4"x6" card outlined the Mindset general process steps and gave a QR code for applying the principles. Given the previous feedback that participants found some defects, I decided to inspect all 24 golf balls under a pretty intense (and unforgiving) LED light. There was some static attracted debris which was likely cardboard that easily brushed or blown away. Of the 24 balls, I did find two that had a very small nick between three adjacent dimples. I likely would not have seen the very small surface imperfections without the intense light and looking very close to the balls' surface. The nicks were so small, that I couldn't catch the edges with my thumb or fingernail. Given they were difficult to see and feel, I can't imagine they would have a noticeable impact on any of the performance metrics. I found all the Bridgestone printing and Mindset graphics clean, crisp and without defect. Now it's time for a Mindset refresher, find ways to incorporate it into my existing pre-shot routine and head out on the golf course to see what happens.
  19. Once the kids are out of school today we are heading down to LA for two days at Universal Hollywood. Never been to the west coast version of Universal, but the kids are excited for the Nintendo and Harry Potter areas. Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy the weekend because next week is already slammed full of appointments and trainings. In the middle of all that I also have my annual review that will need to be scheduled. First time I've ever made it anywhere even remotely close to 5 years at a company. Two and a half was my previous threshold. By the time clients slow down production enough for me to breathe in a few months, I'll be starting the class for Six Sigma Black Belt, so maybe not so much room to breathe?
  20. I use the grint app to track my distance with each club, but I struggle with consistency. I feel like manually tracking each shot distracts me from just playing. Having a system that automatically tracks my club performance would allow me to just enjoy playing, and get the data that I want to be able to improve.
  21. I'm 45min to an hour early unless it's a quick sunrise round and then I show up, hit a few to losen up and off to the teebox.
  22. ... It has been very impressive the way the Lions front office has built the team. I think it is kinda like the golf swing. You can get away with a lot of flaws and use almost a total body swing or a handsy swing and do OK. But blending the entire body together so all working parts kinetically compliment each other and doesn't fight against itself is the real recipe for success. The GM's that understand any one position or side of the ball isn't as important as the entire team. We have seen so many try and reach for a QB when they could be using those top 10 picks to solidify a position for years to come. It also doesn't do much good to draft a DTackle when you already have a great DLine but sub par DB's and holes in the offense. Those are the times you trade down and accumulate picks. ... The Bears could be a primer in how not to build a team when they moved up one slot to take Trubisky and limited their draft for the next 2 years. The real killer is nobody was gonna trade with the 49ers to take Trubisky and he would have still been there at 3. There is always a chance a 3rd round pick will become a starter. Losing those 3rd round picks didn't help the Bears that needed lots of help at that time. "The Bears traded up one spot in the first round to choose quarterback Mitchell Trubisky at No. 2, sending selections in the first (No. 3), third (No. 67) and fourth (No. 111) rounds as well as a 2018 third-round pick (No. 70)."
  23. I actually got to use the putter today. Got out for 9 holes and it was awesome to use on the course. Even got a nice 15 footer off the fringe! For a 18.5 hanidcap, that's a big deal for me. I will say, it CAN come off the face pretty fast. but it really does just hit it straight. It's hard to describe, but I think I was compensating or adjusting the face of my old putter. I don't feel like I was pushing or pulling puts, but just legitimately hitting my line, and realizing that I really have zero idea how to read a green. Lagging puts was a hit or miss for me. Looking forward to the better golfers reviews. But I think I found the putter thats staying in my bag for a long long time. Warning: people will notice your putter, and immediately want to try to it, hold it, etc. LOL.
  24. I play similar to @RickyBobby_PR. I always play most consistent first off the tee to put us in play and allow the rest to go for it. Par 5s is similar. Putting, same. Decent first and best at the end. I have played in groups that don't care, but the competitor in me hates it. I don't expect to win because of what @ballhawk said a few comments up. Ha
  25. First, I've never seen any Lab putter out in the wild. I did see a video of a guy picking his ball making it look easy..... it is not easy. I'll keep working on it, in private.
