  2. Good morning everyone! It's a nicer morning here than yesterday with all the storms that rolled through. The community call yesterday was great and I enjoyed getting to talk to those of you that made it. I'm happy we've reached the last day of the work week here, initially we were supposed to work tomorrow and they cancelled it due to equipment issues. I might try to get out this evening for some range time or maybe go tomorrow before the wife gets up since she has me on the schedule to do yard work with her. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

  4. Good Friday morning MGS.. A more livable temperature in the offing for the day. Should stay in the 90’s for a high today. We are near a state highway and had a couple of visitors yesterday. Border Patrol came by twice, informing us of two vehicle chases near to us that ended in bail outs and run aways. None of the “ uninvited guests “ were seen by us. Since I will not be home for “ Mothers Day “ and safely in the Cartel Sanctuary, I decided to send the following to a couple of her high highness’s loyal minions….. I am positive that said minions will be sure that her magnificent majesty will be sent a copy of this. Excited and fearful of what the Great Girl’s response will be. Enjoy your holiday weekend, may golf be part of your weekend plans.

  5. Because I never really learn What this one has going for it, that the GoLo 6.5 never did, is that it feels amazing in my hands. My only question now is will it stay in the bag long enough to make it to Kingsmill? I guess we’ll see…

  6. Morning all. A gray, dreary day, but at least it’s not cold. I’m a bit bummed. I had sent a little craft package via regular post to a customer in France, and it never made it. I thought, since I received my Shot Scope tags from the UK through the mail, why not? Ah, well. Lesson learned. Have a good one!

  7. Good morning to all. Up 2 hours before normal today due to more tornadoes coming by us. 2 so far this morning. Both within 2 miles of the homestead. Fortunately nothing but a power outage so far. However, there is another potential in about an hour behind this storm for more.

  8. Good morning MGSpies from a busy day ahead for the EP crew this Friday with son's college graduation events that literally happen throughout the day, leaving soon for the 90 minute drive there, full day of mostly waiting to be in the right place right time, midday meal when possible and dinner reservation to cap off what should be epic. Then drive home in the afterglow. Golf is waiting for me next week, hope golf is a part of your day! 19

  10. I love that the testing is just now getting started in this thread and it's already catching up to the LAB test from last year. Going to be one for the books!

  11. Good morning all! Glad Friday is actually here and looking forward to an afternoon round today. Need to get some work things done and out the door before that. Kids had a great time at the local science center yesterday getting to see otters, some birds, a bob cat, and a mountain lion. Father-in-law got us a season pass, so we will be visiting there frequently. No big plans for the weekends on my end, given its Mother's Day weekend all plans will come from the wife. No better woman to celebrate and more deserving of recognition than my wife so happy to take the time to do that this weekend. Have a great Friday and weekend everyone.

  13. Morning All, Well that was a “fun” thing to have done yesterday with the colonoscopy. It did reveal I have diverticulosis, which is before diverticulitis. I’ll do a Tl;Dr version. Everyone has diverticula (small pockets) in their colon, the “osis” is just inflammation of the diverticula. If left untreated or watching what foods cause pain, it can lead to the “itis” which is the diverticula being infected cause the food got lodged in it. I already know certain foods to stay away from. But this is also trial by what causes the inflammation still. with that out of the way. This morning I have to go get my tires rotated and make sure they are aligned properly. Hoping it doesn’t take forever, and if not I’m going to try to get out for a quick 9. Then I have to replace belts on my riding lawn mower. That’s going to be fun. Hope everyone has a great day.

Did anyone else in the SoCal region catch the launch tonight? My 5 and 3 year old were still up so we ran out to watch it streak across the sky.

  18. Update Heads are back from www.golfwcgc.com. Head pro was nice enough to leave me some addition specs on the heads. Also some pretty big kudos to Toura as well. “I've never seen anything like this! Wow are they clean!” And this guy reps Titleist and TM in house. Pretty big accolades from a guy that customizes P770s and Scotty Cam all day! Well done Toura. Well done indeed. With heads in house. We can now get to stamping! Also, I will commence the re-paint work. Big thanks for all the members that gave their ideas. If needed, we will be going with shaft sleeves. But trying to avoid that. I’ll have video loaded some time tomorrow. https://touragolf.com

  19. I sent it from Denmark to France via PostNord back in mid-April. I’ve sent packages to US via PostNord/USPS, and they were delivered. I might just need to use GLS or such next time. Hope you’re safe and fine.

    The Good Morning Thread

Good morning MGS Was going to work from home today but got roped into driving to Columbus with 2 coworkers to pick vehicles and bring them back north. It’s been wet and chilly the past 2 days with no end in sight until Monday so bummer there. However, there is a PGASS in Columbus that might find itself on my route back north today . Hopefully I can find something I can’t live without haha. @Rob Personstay safe dude t that sucks about the tornados and potential for another to come through. Have a great day all and hit em long and straightish.

  21. Quick Update: I was going to ease into the Dream 7 on the range, but then decided to just go straight to the course and try it in real world conditions. I wasn’t expecting much, but wanted to have some fun with it. Played 9 holes and it was a steady decent wind with some strong gusts, so definitely a challenging day. It was also pretty cold. The shaft out the gate seemed very nice to swing and you could tell the shaft delivered extra ball speed. After realizing that I needed to hit with a slightly slower smooth tempo it started performing. I choked down slightly on it to probably at about a 45” club length. It sounded and felt great. I found if I was too quick with it, the shots seemed to go straight left. Not too spinny or high launching, The launch window looked pretty consistent with my GD Tour AD-DI. Which was nice to see. Here are two of the better drives. Both into a wind or side wind. Looking forward to dialing it in. So far, I have left the TSR head setting the same as with my gamer shaft, I should note my gamer is set to a swing weight of D4 while the AF is D0. Both are the same length.

  22. Have played a couple rounds now with my DF3...I understand what folks are saying now about getting used to putting with it. I love the feel but it has been challenging so far. Looking forward to the process of dialing it in.

  24. Man you beat me to it! Only because I'm a procrastinate'n SOB and just haven't gotten to posting my specs. When I had my lofts/lies checked, everything was within about 1° of tolerance which is extremely tight! Good on Toura!

  25. Renewed my '7-Wood Mafia' membership, as my new-to-me Titleist TSR2 7W with Tensei AV White 75 X-stiff shaft arrived. Same shaft model, weight and flex as my TSR2 3-wood. It replaces a Callaway Rogue ST Max 7W with Tensei AV Blue 65 S shaft. I wanted something with stiffer and heavier shaft to match the 3W feel and weight. I'm going to try hitting a few balls tomorrow and see how the muscle strain recovery is really going. A few swings with the TSR2 in the back yard felt ok, so fingers crossed I don't aggravate it. Once I've confirmed this is the right 7W choice, it'll get the Rogue's spot in the bag. Can't wait to give it a hit. I know someone in the forum said to message them when I sell the Rogue 7W. If that was you, DM me if still interested (I'll have another search through the forum for that discussion/exchange).

  28. Finishing an elongated lunch hour. The heat is high and the heat index higher. I am spending a lot of time “ suggesting “ that the young ones drink plenty of fluids. The heat feels good on my old joints and bones but I am not busting tail like the young ones are. We will be using a couple of heat index timeouts this afternoon. While we are hot, it is hotter in other parts of Texas….. Speaking of hot… I initiated my passive aggressive insubordination towards the She, who would rule all… I am sure it will swiftly get back to her and I will be getting a summons by royal decree. I should physically be safe until my return to the “ Dark Kingdom “ on late Monday or early Tuesday… I am both apprehensive and excited.

  29. Good Friday Morning Spies! Had some weather come thru last night but nothing like @Rob Person is facing this morning. Stay safe! Hoping to hear from a golfing buddy that we are getting to go play at one of the local country clubs, but if not, I'll go play the home course this afternoon. Hope everyone has a great day and gets to play some golf!

  37. Well now... a pretty good session at the range after work today Even though it was cool (14C) and cloudy. Still getting to know the AF Dream 7, but we're at least on speaking terms now! Dispersion is tighter, speed is creeping up, distance is starting to as well. I wouldn't believe how much it flexes if I didn't see it on my own replays... and again tonight, a number of folks at the range popped over to see the orange AF shaft. Even a few gentlemen who are members of MGS and have been following the testing- so hello to Paul and Jeff! Loads of data - apologies in advance. I am hoping the data points (bad shots and all) are helpful to the folks reading through the testing (?)... ** No spin numbers as the MLM2 Pro needs the dots on the ball to do the spin numbers.** These were all new (straight out of the box) range balls... but still no where near the performance of a premium game ball. The Dream 7 is certainly growing on me!

  41. Happy Friday all! Got the league round in yesterday. Rain mostly stopped after the 3rd hole. My 5 hybrid was doing yeoman's work throughout the round. Coffee in, office ahead then sweet sweet weekend!

  42. It’s official, mother nature does not want me playing golf. Rained pretty much all day yesterday and it was downpouring when I left work so I was soaked. When I arrived home , I saw a couple of the gutters were overflowing even though I just cleaned them out a couple of weeks ago. Climbed a ladder in the rain, doesn’t even sound smart as I type it, and cleared the first one which was just a small twig and a handful of leaves. The second gutter had nothing blocking on top so I had to take the elbows apart to discover a wasp nest the size of my fist in the elbow. At least it was completely soaked and dormant so that was cool. Gutters cleared, again, soaked to the bone and no golf. Oh well. Today it will be mid 70s and clear although my daughter has an out-of-town soccer game at 4:15 so bo golf today either. Good weather is in the forecast for the next week so I’m very hopeful that all of this will change soon. Stay safe in that weather your way @Rob Person Makes my rain no big deal at all. Have a great day spies.

  43. Took the putter to a local Puttview setup as the weather has been awful in Sydney and isn't meant to stop raining until Tuesday so my weekend round is definitely in jeopardy (not to mention trying to play on Mothers Day is viewed as a no-no in our house!). For those that haven't used one before, they beam a light from above with the track your ball should need to follow to drop in to the hole. You can then set up the putts as you would like to see them - left to right, right to left, downhill, uphill etc. It's great to see how you fare when the reading of the putt is taken out of it. I wanted to do this to get a better feel for how consistent the putter is, how easy to distance control and get a better gauge of accuracy. I found this really useful to get more insight into my own game as well as the putter. You can see when a fairly straight putt even at 7ft, this is easy. The accuracy from the putter is great. With a bit more of a distance needed and some more slope, my pace was n't always spot on. As you can hopefully see though, accuracy is good, I could work on my stroke a bit and especially need to work on left to right putts but the fact I feel I can back myself much more from distance is great. For those interested I also did a bit more on my insta page and had the putts set up as below. I did some ladder drills and compass work after as well to hone my own putting a bit when storage on the phone seemed to become an issue! Also worth noting I was there for an hour and hit a ridiculous amount of putts and no issues still with face or any part of the putter.
