Popular Post DarrenF
So I've been playing Golf Pride Tour Wrap grips for a long time, back to when they first came out. I recently overhauled my bag with a Qi10, Titleist T350 irons, and some Vokey wedges. None of these had grips that I liked, so I decided to try the Super Stroke Traxion wraps and I actually prefer these to the Golf Pride wraps. More cushion and just feel better overall. Update, hats hopefully arrive today, polos are in NJ right now so should be here soon, and rangefinder order was cancelled. And now, I found myself back on Callaway Pre-Owned getting a new shaft for the Epic Speed. I am finding the center of the face really well after cutting down the driver shaft on the HZRDUS Smoke Green im10 mid that came with it. The only issue is that I am hitting the ball verry high, tuned down to 11*, draw bias to counteract the face opening a little. On the way is the Kai’li White 70 S shaft. I hit a lower spin shaft during a club tune up and saw slightly better numbers. It was heavier, which felt great, but hadn’t had it cut down so wasn’t quite hitting it center. I am really excited to see how this works after I get it installed and cut down to my preferred length. It supposedly feels softer like a blue profile, but stays low. They are incredibly comfortable. Easily the best shoes for comfort I’ve worn for golf, and they still feel like there’s a solid base there. Not sure if there’s any difference in the upper with the laceless, but the soles seem like they’ll be top notch across the code chaos offerings. Would recommend As far as the front portion towards the toes, I am in between sizes and went with up vs down which could have helped. Again, the uppers on the laceless might be more forgiving on the toes since it’s got a little extra elasticity. Popular Post KOG
Because this 5 wood is the easiest to hit wood I own, I decided to grab the XJ1 driver. I was able to find it for $70 shipped and it had an extra stiff aftermarket air speeder. Now in the time this driver came out, they were asking $600 for it in 2016 and 400 for the woods which was JDM premium prices. Didnt sell well but the tech is there from the mild carbon fiber to various new metals. I was curious if it could compete with my current drivers and first day using it had my longest drive so this season so far at 310. Super lightweight but I may end up putting a heavier shaft in as it seems to often go right as this Xstiff is somewhere between r+ and s and very torquey as it was aimed to Japanese market. These are fantastic clubs. The woods are still better than anything else for me but finding a 7 wood xj1 is near impossible. First impressions: The shaft seems brand new. New grip, no blemishes, came with my needed adapter, looks great. Second impressions: I weighed the Smoke Green im10 mid 55 shaft and the Kai’li White 70s with grips attached. As expected, the Kai’lin was a little over 16 grams heavier ~120g vs ~136g, but I will he taking about an inch off the Kai’li to get to my preferred length and change the grip so will double check after. Rob Person
I made a big mistake today. I was browsing in a golf store today and randomly saw a lonely putter just being absolutely shamed to no end. They put it in a back corner behind a staff bag full of new putters. I meandered over and moved the bag and pulled it out from hiding. It had a jumbo max grip, a red shaft, and it was a lefty. I plucked a few balls from the practice cup and began rolling it. This putter was just buttery smooth. Sank 8/10 putts from 16 feet and in. The other 2 misses were by inches. I got brave and finally flipped it over. It had a nice orange clearance sticker stating it was 99$. Ladies and gentlemen, I am NOT the proud owner of this gem. Its an Odyssey stroke lab mallet putter. I asked the counter guy how long it had been there, and he said he didn't even realize it was sitting back there... I asked him to call me in a week if it's still there, and I may go back for it. Been looking for another left handed putter for awhile now. 7 hours ago, ctg44 said: Wishing you have better luck than I've had with Titleist hybrids. Had an 818 and TS2 (both in the 20 degree range) and both were brutal no matter what shafts I paired with them. Im hoping they work, because I have zero skill with long irons! bama no 1, cksurfdude, J7Hawkins and 6 others 9 Quote WITB-Foremost 551's - 3w, 5w, 5-SW (circa 1998), Top Flite 460cc Driver, Adam's 7w, Warrior GW and 60⁰, Odyssey AI-One DB putter.
