russtopherb
I went downstairs to our shipping dept to grab one of our products so a picture could be taken of it with the new logo sticker so I can use it on postcards and other marketing materials. Just as I was about to hand it off for photos, I noticed that the new sticker was wrong. The vendor we use got lazy and re-used another label and changed the product name only, and didn't change the product description below it. In the long run it's not a major crisis, but we have product going out with an incorrect label and it all comes down to someone not bothering to use what I created specifically for this product. Drives me nuts. Kor.A.Door
OK...The rant has moved from my friend to the Pro Shop. I texted the friend to find out what happened and ask if they called to cancel the time (after all I know the pro shop has been known to say, I'll cancel it and then doesn't) they said, we did check, in they couldn't find our name so they sent us out anyway. I said oh that's good. I asked how much they charged them, they told me $130, which is our full rate for 2 people. I told him, his name was there clear as day on the tee sheet. I apologized for the error and told them to come see me afterward and we'd fix it. I went to the pro shop and saw they had a new guy in there, I asked what happened and our Assist pro came over and said the new guy just missed seeing their name didn't see my note about the rate, so he just rang them up regular rate and told them the starter would squeeze them in. Total mess up on the pro shops part in a couple ways, but I understand new people do make mistakes, but this one shouldn't have happened, I guess he got flustered with such a long line of people checking in (we have over 400 golfers today) and got rushed. At least your buddy didn't stand you up and make you look bad. Pro shop mess ups happen from time to time. As long as they made it right then it's all good. MattF
I have to get my Australian Passport, which means travelling to the embassy in DC or the consulate in Chicago. The much more attractive alternative is to go to the consulates outreach in a closer city, which is Indianapolis. So I have an appointment in Indy for Friday at midday. (The next one for Indy is in April 2019.) I have my application filled out, had my photo's taken and done to the Australian specs (because they are not like the US specs) but am now waiting for the USPS to deliver the damn things. Check this out, its arrived and departed Pittsburg FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS and it's being sent 3 day priority. If they don't arrive by tomorrow I'll have to cancel my appointment and either drive and overnight for 6 hours or wait until next year. Is it any wonder people don't send letters anymore? Golfspy_CG2
At least your buddy didn't stand you up and make you look bad. Pro shop mess ups happen from time to time. As long as they made it right then it's all good. yes... That was a big relief. And Yep, mistakes happen and we straightened it out after the round. They were very happy and said they didn't want to make a big fuss in the pro shop knowing they were my guests. I felt bad for thinking they would just no-show, it would have been totally out of character. So i arranged a couple comp rounds for them in the future to make up for it. All ended well. romeopapazulu
Bought a driver last Sunday...AC went out Monday night. I am doing the majority of the replacement myself. Not a decision I would recommend to anyone that doesn't hate themselves. On a golf related note, I played a round on consecutive days for the second time this year. I don't get to do that very often. For the second time, I have followed up a sub-80 round with high 90's. First one was 79 -> Really high (I knew by the third hole I should stop counting). Next one was 76 -> 97. I hit some great shots on the range before the last round. Must have spent them all there, because I couldn't replicate them even once on the course. It is amazing the swings in swings I can put together on consecutive days.
