SuperDave
Ok, so we talk about what clubs and balls the Pros use all the time. Has anyone asked or anyone know what tees the Pros like to use. If no, tell us what tees you like to use. I myself am a high handicapper. I've used all kinds and none make a difference unless I hit the ball correctly. Currently I'm gaming Stinger tees. On the expensive side, but I like them. Sent from my SM-G920V using MyGolfSpy mobile app
MDGolfHacker
I use standard wood tees, the cheapest you can buy in bulk. Personally for me, I don't see a difference between those tees and the fancier plastic tees with three contact points or the ones that have marks on then for tee height. I put my wooden tees in the ground and quickly measure the height against my driver and go from there. I do carry two sets of wooden tees though. A driver tee that is 2 1/2 to 3 inches long and a short tee for all other tee shots. Don't remember why I did that though. Probably because we sometimes have baked teeing areas and the shorter tees were easier to get in for iron shots. As for what the pros use, not really sure. MDGolfHacker What's In This Lefty's Bag? Jonnythec
Wedge tees are the ones I like. One tee lasts a few rounds. Plus they can fix divots and scrap grooves. PlaidJacket
I just use whatever I find laying around or the ones the pro shop keeps available in a bowl. I like Stinger tees for some reason when I find them. Once I bought a 500 ct. box of Stingers. But I made a mistake. When I was ordering; the website (at that time anyway) said, "do not order the Stinger Pro model unless you have a steady hand". So what do I do? Order the Pro model. Which has a head the size of a pencil eraser if that. Needless to say I donated the entire box to a local HS golf team. Those guys have steady hands. Old guys do not. Jiro
I got a bag of those three pronged plastic tees as a gift several years ago and am still on the same bag as they don't seem to break too often. I also won some martinis at a company golf tournament last year--they seem pretty good, have not broken one yet. For irons I just use whatever broken tees I can find near the tee box. Kenny B
I believe those tees aren't conforming Bags What do you think makes them non-conforming? They are advertised as USGA conforming. Ever since MGS did a test of tees back in 2011, I have been using the 4 Yards More tees. https://www.mygolfspy.com/mygolfspy-labs-golf-tee-wars/ I use the blue and yellow color; mostly blue, but will use the shorter yellow tees for shots into the wind. I very rarely break them, and since I have been playing them, I never pick up any other tee that I see. I used to pick up every one, and I would end up with my bag full of tees since I don't break most tees. I probably still have 500 standard tees at home in a bag in the garage. I use broken tees that I find for iron shots. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

BIG STU
Oh man I am going to be the odd man out on this---- I am 60 years old and have never ever bought a tee in my life!! No joke. My old man ran a course and of course I worked the cart barn a good number of years so you can guess I have always had free tees. One of the old man's anal things was picking up tees from the teeing ground etc and I inherited that from him. Down here when the tourist golfers hit town they hit the big box stores and buy jumbo bags of tees and of course they do not bend over to pick one up. I can start a round at my home course in the season with one tee in my pocket and by round's end have at least 10. I also play some at an exclusive private club and they have free tees everywhere in buckets on the range and in each cart. You think their members are going to stoop over and pick one up? Man when I play there I will end up finding at least 5 tees on every box. Heck I have Sanka coffee cans full of tees that are at least 40 years old. There are also a couple of restaurants that give free tees to customers. One such place the owner is a good friend of mine and helped sponsor me in some mini events in the past. He INSISTS on me getting a hand full every time we eat there. I have a tee OCD problem! I do have a couple of those Martini tees but I did not buy them. The guy that was hawking them here when they first came out is an old tour buddy and of course he gave me 2. I tried them and they are ok no real performance gain for me that I see. As far as colored tees leaving a mark on the bottom of my driver I could care less. If it may become an issue that is what acetone and a rag are for. I will tee up with any kind of tee whether it be plastic or wood. Now I do not tee up with a fairway wood off the teeing ground I take the club head and make a little mound. I do the same with an iron IF I tee it up Like I said I am the odd man out on this Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee. SCC4380
I use the Pride Evolution plastic golf tees for my driver and a broken wooden tee that I find for everything else. The Pride Evolution tees seem to last a long time. I had my dad use the Martini tees as he got into his late 80s and his hands weren't as steady. They were great for him. My only problem with them is that they seem to go flying after a hit and I lose too many when I play alone.
