I received this email yesterday and wanted to pass it along.....

 

 

One of the pleasures of my role at Kentwool is that I am able to interact with you via email sharing updates on our business, new products, exciting promotions and the like. I fear that I am writing today though in a much different tone.

It is with the deepest regret that I share that Mark Kent, our CEO and creator of the world's best sock, died unexpectedly yesterday of complications following a heart attack. Mark was 55.

An astute businessman, Mark was the fifth generation of Kents to lead this family business. He will be best remembered for his kindness and generosity as well as his exceptional character, infectious smile and innovative spirit.

Kentwool flourished under Mark's leadership, and our division, Kentwool Performance Apparel, was created thanks to his vision. You and your comfort are the reason Mark established Kentwool's “sock division,” and in honoring Mark, you and your comfort will continue to drive everything that we do.

We are honored to have earned your business, and we are humbled by the outpouring of love and support that we have received already. We ask that you join us in keeping Mark's family, most especially his wife Kim and his four children, in your thoughts and prayers during this tremendously difficult time.

We always value your support more than we can say, and that is truer than ever this evening. On behalf of Vicki, Stephanie and our entire team, thank you for being a part of our Kentwool family.

This is just horrible.  I hadn't heard that news yet and I am on their mailing list.   

 

I got to meet and speak briefly to Mark at the 2016 PGA Show, he was most accessible, generous with this time, friendly and very passionate about their product.  I'm very sorry to hear this, thoughts and prayers to his family, Friends and to all Kentwool employees.

I got to meet Mark at the 2016 PGA Show as well - what a nice, nice guy and a real gentleman. It was pretty clear how much he loved his company and the people who worked for his family. I only met him the once but he seemed to be the real deal - as genuine of a person as you'd like to meet...
