hckymeyer Posted March 15, 2018 Share Posted March 15, 2018 The Master's has snuck up on me this year. With the return of Tiger Woods I don't think there has ever been this much focus on Spring golf. I've been so in to it I kind of forgot about the upcoming tourney's. It doesn't help that the weather here sucks and we are still covered in snow. We hit 40 a couple times, but it's still down in the teens or twenties every night and I'm guessing we are still a month away from any sort of course opening. Our season ended a month early this fall and I still don't have that sense of golf being right around the corner. So when I saw a tweet this morning that The Masters is only 18 days away it kind of caught me by surprise, I don't think I've been this excited for a Major since maybe 2013 or 2014. Basically the last opportunity we had for Tiger in contention. With all that rambling out of the way, there's also a point to this post. If so dating back to when and what pieces of equipment are included because it would seem Titleist if it's only recent and balls are included. If we are going back in time Wilson could sneak into the mix. If clothing is included Footjoy perhaps. Oh well whoever this sounds exciting and thanks for the opportunity! Seems like it has been 70 years since Titleist golf balls were used, so no distinction on what type of equipment, I have to go with Titleist. Hard to explain compared to other golf events. In fact I doubt anyone would say anything different. Sure you can say you went to an Open at Winged Foot or Merion or Firestone, etc. etc. But it's just not the same. It's like someone let you in but you're not really supposed to be there. Except for the thousands of others just like you. You walk into the place as if you're entering a baseball game or something and then suddenly it all unfolds right before your eyes! Everything you seen on TV or in pictures or have been told. It's all true only better. It's real. You can touch it, smell it, feel it. It's freaking awesome. *I've never been to a US Open It's been three years since I was last at Augusta, and I'd give my eye teeth to go back. Everyone in my family is registered for the lottery. My family and I went to the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow last year, and while it was a blast, it just did not compare to The Masters. There's nothing like standing there behind the clubhouse, watching the entire course spill out in front of you. Even just standing there at the practice area, watching the guys warm up is amazing. I wonder if he'll get his mojo back in time for Augusta I'm a Spieth fan, but as I pointed out earlier this year, it looks like he has a putting problem (maybe a yip). He certainly can't compete with the other big names at Augusta with a ranking of 169 in Strokes Gained Putting when all the other big names are top 25. Maybe he can find it; maybe he can't. I'd like to see him win, but I'm still going with a first-time Masters winner this year. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were the sponsor. Can't wait for the Masters this year. There are so many big names playing great this spring it has the potential to be an incredible shootout.
