STUDque
The PGA Championship has come to a thrilling conclusion as has our 2018 season of #SpyStaffSlam. This has been a really fun event to follow and I hope you all enjoyed it as well. Just like the US Open, Brooks Koepka was the key to victory; although it may not have been as cut and dry as you may think. As always, let's take a look at some fun facts before we announce the winners of some totally amazing Wilson Staff prizes. Entries were PGA-lower at 523 which should have created more opportunity for the win but the players that were they key to victory were among the scarcest selections. *Prize winnings were calculated based off published purse at the following link: https://golfweek.com/2018/08/12/complete-pga-championship-prize-money-list-with-payout-for-each-golfer/ A perfect entry would've been Koepka, Scott, Pieters, Woodland, Cink for a total of $3,886,675 Out of the 523 entries, only 10 legal entries chose Koepka Should be no surprise that these people make up our top 10 results The man was the US Open champ for Christ sake, can't he get a little more love? 6 chose Scott 18 chose Pieters 25 chose Woodland 2, count em 2, people chose Stuart Cink for Tier 5 which leads to this edition of the most irrelevant award:Congratulations TomC and GTCH995 for seeing what almost nobody else could in Mr Cink 34 people had faith in the big cat even though I'm sure most of us were pulling for him regardless coming down the stretch. This is in stark contrast to The Masters where Tiger was one of the most popular picks. It was possible to win the pool with Tiger, but you would've needed to be in the teeny tiny groups that picked the other tiers correctly as well. As a whole, the tiered players had an abysmal showing. 39/60 tiered players made the cut whereas Tier 5 had 41 players make the cut by itself. If you had even 4 of your players make the cut, you did a nice job with your selections. Here's some dollar values to see which tier was the most valuable: Tier 1 - 13/15 players for a total of $5,126,110.00 Tier 2 - 7/15 players for a total of $1,114,035.00 Tier 3 - 11/15 players for a total of $1,392,416.50 Tier 4 - 8/15 players for a total of $631,545.50 Tier 5 - 41 players for a total of $2,531,394.00 OK class, you can wake back up now. The presentation has concluded and it's time to announce the Top 10 for #SpyStaffSlam - 2018 PGA Championship 10) Byron Bay Golfer [$2,044,334] Koepka, Leishman, Hoffman, Hun An, Cam Smith 9) c43tr1 [$2,046,250] Koepka, Kuchar, Chappell, Henley, Vegas 8) bilmalk [$2,068,333] Koepka, Watson, Poulter, List, Cook 7) Rahskiumah [$2,112,325] Koepka, Kuchar, ZJ, Li, Niemann 6) Cmolsshoots54 [$2,126,406] Koepka, Finau, Hoffman, Na, Holmes 5) Rosey99 [$2,133,642] Koepka,Simpson, Hoffman, Moore, Niemann 4) theglide [$2,141,554] Koepka, Kuchar, ZJ, List, Perez :::::::::::::::::::::::drum roll please::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Third Place: Dozen Wilson Duo Golf Balls: TurnMaker [$2,238,743] Koepka, Schaffele, Kisner, Li, Cam Smith Second Place: Customized PMP Wedge: nybuckeye88 [$2,297,833] Koepka, Finau, RCB, List, Oleson Grand Prize: Custom Wilson Set of Irons: cwojtowicz [$2,682,706] Koepka, Finau, Pieters, Woodland, Wise _____________________________________________ Congratulations to the lucky winners!
