Oh man, it's 6:41 am and I have to go.......I have one chance left for my low round challenge before I go camping for the Labor Day weekend with our family(Suwannee River Rendezvous). I get so immersed in the MGS Forum that I literally lose track of time. Gotta go, have a 7:30 tee time......here's hoping 8 can throw darts on a cart path only wet course.

Best Round Submission

 

Course and slope  66/115

 

 

I had not got to play with my father in law much this summer, working swing shift, and them living on the other side of the mountains (yes REAL mountains). So SWMBO said go and play... She wanted a down weekend... SO let me tell you a story.

 

So up at 5:30 (after getting home at midnight) leave at 6:00am... 10:00 tee time... Get there in time for breakfast and off to the course... I needed a solid round, I play Highlander well, just this year. Normally we would have his best friend with us who is almost blind, but not last Sat.

Open with a bogey but hit both the fairway and the green in regulation. Ok no warm up a little tired, I'm good, lots of golf left. 2^nd hole fairway/ green bogey. Dammit not the way I wanted to start. 3^rd par GIR. Ok now I'm playing.. 4^th par 5 fairway/green bogey… SH!T.. 5^th real scoring opportunity par 5 that I have eagled before.. fairway 3wd to the side of the green Par. 6^th uphill par 4 fairway/ green to 3' birdie.. 2 over after 6.. 7^th par 3 GIR bogey.. Errr.. 8^th ready for a ride… 227 fairway 3wd 267 to the side of the green chip on and walk off par.. not what I was hoping but ok.. 9^th par 3 over a canyon, Double.. Nooo

Finish front 5 over ok nice round (afterwards I realize I went 6/6 fairways and 7/9 GIR)..  I always play the back better.. So I'm looking ok..

10^th par 4 288 drive on the rt edge of fairway crappy angle and stance LW to back of green Bogey.. ERRRR 11^th par 4 Fairway/ green bogey,  Errrr. 12 th par 3 over lake, short chip on an 2 putt Bogey, the wheels on this bus are coming off.. 13^th par 5 left side fairway/green 2 putt par.. on back on track.. 3 over but still playing ok.. 14 par 3 downhill another F-ing double bogey. 5 over through 5 on the back.. Oh well I'm having a great playing golf with FIL on a great course.. 15 big uphill par 4 fairway/green, par.

16 big downhill par 4 fairway/green par.. ok this could still be ok.. 17 short par 4 but danger everywhere, (see below) drive green birdie.. Sweet.. 18 par 3 green birdie… Damn, birdie birdie finish..

Finish back 3 over 6/6 fairways and 6/9 GIR 

 

Grand total of……. 78-12/12(FIR) 13/18(GIR)  Get some of that.. MY BEST ROUND EVER

If i'm right we take our round and subtract our baseline to give us our net...

 

I went out early and posted a good round, I am the clubhouse leader.. now go chase me down.. And i will graciously applaud your round.. but it will be hard to beat...

I think you need to factor in the course rating. Otherwise, I'm sitting on a net 57. Which is BS, because I played an executive course with a rating of 62.1.

 

We're doing the differential of our net score and course rating, aren't we?

I think you need to factor in the course rating. Otherwise, I'm sitting on a net 57. Which is BS, because I played an executive course with a rating of 62.1.

Don't worry. That's all taken into account. Here's the formula for those keeping score at home:

 

(Gross Score - Course Handicap) + Adjusted Course Rating

 

or, to break it down further:

 

{Gross Score-[(Slope Rating/113)*Baseline Handicap]}+(72-Course Rating)

 

 

The course handicap is an official USGA formula used for net tournaments but adjusted course rating is homemade to normalize par.

Foz is scrambling to pull off a solid round during a monsoon, HL is pissed he shot a great round but on an executive course, MD is still receiving fluids to get back to normal after pushing himself in the Heat and Joyzee, he still trying to figure how to get a 373 drive to count for this week.. 

 

Honestly thank you all for you support and encouragement.. I Have played my best against fierce competition, At this point it's out of my hands, may the best player win.. Good luck guys..

LMFAO....Stud gonna get you Har...your lucky he isn't involved like this with the Ping testing...48 hours till this thing is over. I can't believe it seems like it began just yesterday. I feel like my calculations are way off but I am too afraid to change them at this point. I had MD going up in handicap...sorry MD nothing personal just thought you were having trouble with the one length...I channelled my inner Joyzee10 yesterday and hit a 322 yard drive...there was wind behind me...and no I don't think that affected it at all...haha. I have learned one major thing during this process I want to learn all about Foz's life...I want to be doing what Foz is doing right now...Marshalling the local course smacking people around for playing too slow or parking close to the green...then playing 10 rounds a week...how does someone play 10 rounds in one week....I think he has a cape tucked in the back of that polo or maybe in that MGS hat. Good luck guys we are pulling for each of you to have the rounds of your lives....

The first sign that the Ping thread is going to be off the charts was....I had to appeal to the administratiors for a larger PM distribution list to fit everyone in.

I know what you mean, first and foremost I have to keep the Shot Scope thread at the top of the page, then this, then the Cleveland one, then Arccos, then the Hogan Wedges, the G400 Drivers, G700 irons (one guy shot a personal best of 60 in that 😱!!) And so on and so on....😁😎

Foz is probably drying out, MD is trying to swap out shafts to get back to normal. HL is trying to figure out how to lengthen his executive course and get it rated so his score will look better.. And then there is Joyzee, I think he is trying to cut and paste is 373 onto any hole so that he has a snowballs chance in He!! of touching my score.. oh wait he might be correcting this little video from his introduction changing everywhere he had Jozee to Reesedw.. that's what he's doing.

Hey Gents,

 

Thought I'd post this little beauty rite here since the prize is from week 7 voting.

 

Here is the reveal of the Puma hat and “golf shirt” that I won.

 

My first thought.... “wow am I luck to win such a great hat” [emoji38].

 

My next thought was “man am I gonna have some fun with this one”.

 

If you think back to Week 1 of the PGA Tour Mr. Rickie Fowler was wearing something very similar in Hawaii. So I did a little googling and what's to follow is a “who wore it best” competition”. I'll let you boys decide, voting closes at midnight September 1st... be kind!
