perseveringgolfer
just a small update on my driver issues fellas, as you all know the F9 for me was soooo low it was making me look at other drivers, however, with all golf issues it's the Indian not the arrow. Sorted out my swing and the F9 has been beautiful the last 2 rounds, long and a good height with a great sound. I've also switched to the chromesoft and z star and I swear I'm getting an extra 10 yards over my Titleist 910D3. MaxEntropy
Not related to this thread that much, but it seems somewhat appropriate to put it here since I won the shirt during last year's challenge (thanks to Stud's dog). I was leery when I got the shirt - me and white shirts do not mix. I've had sunblock ring-around-the-collar stains, coffee, spaghetti, hamburger grease, and the whole back got a stain from an old wicker rocker on my aunt's deck. A little shout or soaking in oxyclean and it still looks almost new and I wear it a lot. Kudos to Puma for making a shirt for slobs that is easy to care for! Bucky CC
My club championship tournament is this weekend. I'll be in the Championship flight, which is lowest 8 handicaps (plus anyone else that wants to challenge themselves) playing from the tips with no handicap. They also get the greens rolling at their fastest of the year and put the pins in some ridiculous places. We used to have a couple of scratch golfers at our public course but now I think the lowest is a 3.1. The Cobra Challenge has helped me get down to a 5.0 trend so I should have a chance if I play well. sirchunksalot, Nunfa0, KurtActual and 6 others 8 1 Quote Driver: Stealth 2 10.5°, Kai'li Red X Fairway Wood: Rogue ST LS 16.5°, Mitsubishi TENSEI AV White 75 X 3 Hybrid: F9, LA Golf Tour AXS Red 85 X 4 Iron: Ping G410 Crossover 5-PW: JPX 919 Forged, KBS Tour Stiff Wedges: Jet Black 50°08F, 54°12D, 58°08M, True Temper Dynamic Gold Black S200 Putter: StrokeLab White Hot OG #7, Evnroll Tourtac grip

I've been testing a lot of irons out there and currently have a demo set of Mizuno 919 Forged irons in the bag. I shot a 44 over 9 holes with them last Thursday (not good) but came back with a 76 on Saturday. I have a practice round from the tips scheduled for tomorrow and will make a decision after that. There's definitely a comfort level with the F9's knowing all of my distances thanks to the 20+ Arccos rounds during the CCC3. If I do switch anything out it will only be the 5-PW. Bucky CC
I'm sorry but the replacement irons may need to stay in the bag for me. Today I played the back tees from my course in preparation for the club championship this weekend. The round went extremely well and shot a rock solid 75 from the back tees (around 6700 yards) at my home course. I love my Cobra driver, fairway, hybrids, and wedges, but I think I'm sold on the Mizuno JPX 919 Forged irons. With today's 75 I also am trending to my lowest handicap ever; down to a 4.6. 90% of the credit goes to the amazing Cobra lineup with a special shout out to Evnroll putters and Mizuno irons. It is still very early with them but the main two so far are better distance control and accuracy. They are a few yards shorter than the F9's but I haven't experienced any rockets that go much farther than I wanted like the Cobras. They're also quite a bit nicer to look at with the thinner topline and cavity back that you can't see standing over the ball. It's a combination of performance in a tighter dispersion/shot area plus personal preference in the smaller club head. Some of those I only hit three shots with and immediately set them down because I knew they were not right for me. In the end the top 3 were: Mizuno JPX 919 Forged Callaway Apex Pro Cobra Forged Tec The Mizuno's weren't the longest of the bunch but the combination of shot dispersion, forgiveness, spin, launch angle, peak height, etc made it a clear winner. Bucky CC
Today's final round of my club championship was cancelled. We started off with a 2 hour rain delay but they decided to make it a one day tournament after heavy rains made the course unplayable. My score of 76 stands as the 2nd best out of 30 people. Unfortunately the one person with a better score was also in my flight. I should be happy with 2nd but I can't help but feel dissapointed that I didn't even have the chance to try and catch the leader. robertson153
Round one of my club championship played yesterday. Very mediocre 82. Hit 2 tee shots OB. Good news is 81 is leading my flight so I’m feeling good about my chances. I’ll update later tonight. Bucky CC
Hey @Nunfa0 how did you like your shorter Tour issue F9 driver? Do you ever wish you had gone with the standard 45.5" length? I've been struggling with accuracy off the tee and I'm debating if I want to cut down my F9 an inch and order the heavier Cobra weights to keep the swing weight the same. fozcycle 1 Quote Driver: Stealth 2 10.5°, Kai'li Red X Fairway Wood: Rogue ST LS 16.5°, Mitsubishi TENSEI AV White 75 X 3 Hybrid: F9, LA Golf Tour AXS Red 85 X 4 Iron: Ping G410 Crossover 5-PW: JPX 919 Forged, KBS Tour Stiff Wedges: Jet Black 50°08F, 54°12D, 58°08M, True Temper Dynamic Gold Black S200 Putter: StrokeLab White Hot OG #7, Evnroll Tourtac grip
