Shodags 28
I'm new to the forum, but it's funny that my friends and I started this challenge for 2020 as well. So far, I've birdied every hole on the front except #1 (difficult par 4), and 13,14,15 on the back. I've missed short birdie putts on 14 several times, including this past Saturday. TCUFrog 445
Joining this a little late but I went through and added my birdies to the google doc. I play Heritage Golf Links as my home course in Atlanta so here we go: Hole 1 | 492 Par 5 | Wide Open landing area on the drive, but plays into the wind with deep bunkers off the back of the green, a hard fall off left into a low collection area Hole 2 | 347 Par 4 | Slight Dog Leg right with a two tier green, Green is guarded by bunkers left and long, creek in front, and trees right so it's a true two shot par 4 with no ability to attack the green off the tee Hole 3 | 116 Par 3 | Short Downhill Par 3. Awkward shot that always falls between a 52 and 56 degree wedge depending on wind, green is all back to front sloping and any ball with a lot of spin will roll down to the front fringe if it lands in the middle of the green Hole 4 | 416 Par 4 | Long Uphill Par 4, 200 yard drive to clear swamp land in front of the tee, 240 to clear out left and have a better shot into the green, plays as the 1 handicap Hole 5 | 221 Par 3 | Long downhill Par 3, Massive green with 3 different landing areas, water short, woods left and right with a deep pot bunker back left of the green Hole 6 | 362 Par 4 | Dog Leg Right Par 4, Uphill off the tee to a fairway that kicks everything down right, green is about 25 feet down with a massive bunker front left, and woods long of the green Hole 7 | 392 Par 4 | Straight forward par 4 with bunker left of the green Hole 8 | 492 Par 5 | Plays Downhill all the way with a speed slot for a drive off the tee that will kick you down to 170 yards ish out, plays closer to long par 4, but green is protected by a bunker, large mound and a creek long of the green Hole 9 | 421 Par 4 | Long straightforward Par 4 off the tee, plays about 35 feet uphill to the green from the fairway to a large 30 yard long green with a lot of slope Hole 10 | 355 Par 4 | Straightforward Par 4, with wide fairway for any shot from 175-250 Yards, anything longer than 250 and right of the green will end up in woods and left long will collect into a large bunker about 20 yards short of the green Hole 11 | 220 Par 3 | Plays about 10 feet uphill and often into the wind. Usually plays closer to 235-240 with an overhanging tree left that protects the green, and bunkers that protect short and right of the green Hole 12 | 395 Par 4 | Clear a pond 210 yards of carry to clear, Fairway plays straight uphill to an elevated green with 3 tiers Hole 13 | 340 Par 4 | Straight forward short Par 4, Multiple bunkers front and right of the green with trees left protecting from long drives Hole 14 | 511 Par 5 | Par 5 with a large landing area, but water surrounding green. Lay-up to 100 yards and try to spin a wedge into the green or go for the green and hope to get a lucky bounce Hole 15 | 474 Par 5 | Long Par 5 that plays uphill off the drive to a flat landing area then another uphill shot into the green Hole 16 | 115 Par 3 | Short Par 3 with the one of the largest greens on the course, can play anywhere from 95 yards to 135 yards depending on the pin Hole 17 | 377 Par 4 | Downhill par 4, large bunker left of the fairway but if you're on the right side of the fairway it's a blind shot to the green, bunker left of the green and slopes front to back green Hole 18 | 409 Par 4 | An absolute gem of a finishing hole with water all along the right of the hole. Play the drive out left and have 190 yards in, play it right and have 150 in but bring water into play, plays to a large mostly flat green that's receptive, anything short right will feed back to water, left and long feeds to a collection area or a bunker Quote M6, 9.0, Tensei CK Orange 60, Stiff M6, Rocket 13.0, Atmos Red 60, Stiff RocketBallz, 4H 22.0 JPX 900 Tour, 4-PW, True Temper Dynamic gold S300 Mack Daddy 4, 52.0, 56.0, 60.0 - S grind Spider Mini Tour-RX Smart Sensors

Peaksy68 4,010
Birdied the 6th today, made the most of the tailwind off the tee. Absolutely smashed my drive, over the newly formed water hazard that runs across the fairway at my usual driving distance. Blocked my 2nd, 60 yard pitch to 10 feet. Putt was straight downhill, glad it hit it straight, would have gone well past if it missed. DaveP043 4,294
I got #11 here today, I have 14 of 18 so far. Some tough ones remaining, a 200-yard par-3, a couple of 420-yard (downhill) par-4s, and a sharp dogleg 315-yarder. I'll tem them all! 1 Quote Irons Titleist AP2 714, KBS Tour S, 3 flat Rogue SubZero, GD YS-Six X 52, 56, and 60 wedges B60 G5i putter Right handed Reston, Virginia
beelzeberto 211
A tad late to the game but I'll give it a go as well. This scorecard doesn't really show how dangerous some of these holes are. Take 6 for example. Looks to be an easy par three but if you hit is short the entire front is a bunker that is 10ft lower than the green. The 8th sucks depending on pin location. If they put it in the back it's on a shelf maybe 10-12 feet wide and then dramatically slopes all the way down so if you miss it, your putt is around 40 feet uphill and at a slope. WaffleHouseTour 391
I’m in. Got inspired by the NLU crew as well, but in Iowa our season has just started a month ago so I’m a little behind. What worries me is #17, #18 - I don’t need the additional pressure this fall... trying to check this box, or play safe and break 80... Been carrying a special scorecard for the last month, pictured here. But thanks for setting up the spreadsheet. I got off on a hot streak but things have since cooled down . The absolute hardest will be #13 - a steep uphill, not view of the landing area, severely slopped green. When I make it, fireworks will go off. Missed a makable one there, and it stuck in my head for the next couple of holes because there aren’t many opportunities - flag has to be in the right part of the green for me to get it close, etc... 1 Quote Walking ahead of my BagBoy QuadXL w Alphard eWheels Driver: Callaway Mavrik SubZero 9* Neutral w stock Evenflow Riptide R flex shaft 3W Titelist TS2 15* Draw w Tensei Blue R flex 3H, 4H Cobra One Length F9 Speedback hybrids (1”short) w Fujikura Atmos R flex shaft 5I-GW Cobra Forged TEC Black One Length (1”short, 2* flat) KBS 90 R flex shafts 56, 60 Cobra King MIM One Length Black (1” short) KBS HiRev2.0 125 S flex shafts ER7 or Scotty Futura X - 35” OnCore Elixr (lemon or lime)
Kenny B 24,235
WHY AM I DOING THIS!!! I don't get many birdies; some rounds none, sometimes one. I know that last year I probably birdied every hole over the course of the year. When I started this Challenge, I never thought about the birdies; they just "happen". I was happy before the COVID-19 shutdown because I birdied a few of what I think are the hardest holes for me. I was confident that I could pull this off. Now... after the shutdown, my game is worse, and I have 6 holes left to birdie. EVERY time I get to one of those holes, I screw it up somehow. One problem is that 4 of the 6 holes come in a row... 7,8,9, and 10. All of these holes are difficult for me to get on the greens in regulation. I can do it when the wind is down, but when I do get on the green, the chance of being in legitimate birdie range is extremely low. When I get on the tee, I am ALWAYS thinking that I have to birdie THIS hole, rather than just playing the hole. I'm not used to this much stress!! Why am I doing this again?? 1 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
