Popular Post GolfSpy MPR
I know some of you, especially if you follow Adam Young on social media, have seen him endorsing the Divot Board. It's a hitting mat that indicates where your club struck the ground. Unlike some of the less expensive options that will use some kind of felt/velvet fabric, the Divot Board uses that kind of sequin fabric that your daughter has on a decorative pillow, where the sequins flip from one side to the other to have a different color or pattern depending which way they lie. I ordered mine and it should be arriving today. So I'll keep this thread going with my review of it. The first obvious objections (related to each other) are cost and durability. At $100, it ain't cheap. And it just seems like the sequined fabric is asking to be destroyed by a golf swing. FWIW: Adam has said he's gotten his well over 6,000 swings before needing to consider replacing the top surface (which is $25, I believe). Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting some use out of it. I'm still about three months from golf up here, and so I'm still in the middle of "work on my swing" season. Having a way to work on contact without needing to hit a ball (especially in the church) is a plus to be ready when the snow melts. GolfSpy MPR
First update: I placed my order on Monday; I received my shipping notification the same day. USPS. Nuts. But a round of applause for the Postal Service on this one: they've actually beaten their scheduled delivery day. The Divot Board started its journey in California, with a scheduled delivery of Saturday. When I checked this morning, it was on the truck for delivery today, a day early. I should be able to grab it at lunch and give it its first test swings this afternoon. cnosil, edingc, PMookie and 4 others 7 Quote TS3 9.5°, Tensei Blue CBX T3 15°, Project X HZRDUS Black Epic Super Hybrid 18°, Aerotech Steel Fiber FC HYB S C722 21°, Ventus Blue 8S CBX Iron-Wood 25°, Project X HZRDUS Black 6.0 639 CB, Aldila NV 95 Graphite, 6–PW CBX 48° T22 54° and 60° EAS 4.0, Garsen G-Pro grip TP5x and Tour Response Full WITB with pictures

Popular Post BMart519
I have one as well... Initial impressions: - the rubber base is thick and sturdy, almost 1" all in unless used on a surface where the rubber spikes can dig in. Given how much Adam Young talks about arc depth (I've bought all 3 three of his subscriptions) I feel you need a stance mat to go along with the Divot Board. - I've began using it for a "9 Box" drill mentioned by Lou Stagner on a podcast: hitting inside/outside edge and center of board in front of, behind, and in line with the ball mark to add some differential practice on ground contact. - getting ground impact location and path direction feedback without a ball is valuable - compact and portable, I throw it on my living room floor and take full swings barefoot in the house. The thick rubber base eliminates any worry of damage to my hardwood floors or hard feedback on the joints. Mine has about 100 swings on it, I was initially concerned as there is visible wear and tear after the first few solid strikes. But after some minor damage it hasn't changed much over the last few sessions. I can see it being useful for thousands of hits even if a few sequins fall off. They all appear to be individually stitched to the board. Still getting regular use, both by Kirke and by me. I posted this yesterday, in which Kirke shows off just ridiculous levels of skill that I cannot match: The wear on the board is obvious. Little bits of sequin come off each session; I don't think that the full sequin comes off the board, but the sequins appear to have layers (the different colors), and they separate. If you put in a half hour with it, you'll see three or four bits on the carpet that need to be picked up. But so far, there is no loss of functionality. It is still completely obvious where you've struck your shot. The wear, to this point, is entirely cosmetic. Sure, it would be nice if it looked nicer; the fact that it looks really worn even after your first handful of swings is not ideal. On the other hand, it's hard to argue on a market level: he introduced them at $100, sold out, increased the price to $125 (I think) and sold out again. cksurfdude and sirchunksalot 2 Quote TS3 9.5°, Tensei Blue CBX T3 15°, Project X HZRDUS Black Epic Super Hybrid 18°, Aerotech Steel Fiber FC HYB S C722 21°, Ventus Blue 8S CBX Iron-Wood 25°, Project X HZRDUS Black 6.0 639 CB, Aldila NV 95 Graphite, 6–PW CBX 48° T22 54° and 60° EAS 4.0, Garsen G-Pro grip TP5x and Tour Response Full WITB with pictures
cksurfdude
Definitely intrigued by this, but in the spirit of DIY (and cheapskateness and product unavailability) .. I put a "Flat Ball" (could also use a ball marker, poker chip, etc.) about 2 inches in front of the ball - the goal, of course, to make that the low point of your swing ... We often use Flat Balls with the Divot Board. Here's another idea: get a strip of mat or carpet on top of your normal hitting surface, and put the ball near the back of it. Demands that you're really precise with strike: cksurfdude, cnosil and sirchunksalot 2 1 Quote TS3 9.5°, Tensei Blue CBX T3 15°, Project X HZRDUS Black Epic Super Hybrid 18°, Aerotech Steel Fiber FC HYB S C722 21°, Ventus Blue 8S CBX Iron-Wood 25°, Project X HZRDUS Black 6.0 639 CB, Aldila NV 95 Graphite, 6–PW CBX 48° T22 54° and 60° EAS 4.0, Garsen G-Pro grip TP5x and Tour Response Full WITB with pictures
sirchunksalot
I think I mentioned this in another thread, but I've got one of these on order and hopefully it'll be in soon. I picked it up through Practical Golf along with one of his books and full access to his site for $115. Like some of the others, the price was a bit hard to swallow, but I'm hoping the feedback will pay for itself during my net sessions. Watching all the videos @GolfSpy MPR has posted of Kirke on here and Twitter was the tipping point for me buying this. You guys should be getting some commission for the great work you've done promoting the Divot Board. Kirke is just so crazy good in them. cnosil, GolfSpy MPR and cksurfdude

For Kirke's college fund, of course Like I said, I cannot begin to compare to @Kirke in the "call it in the backswing" drill, but I did a little work this afternoon just intentionally, from the same stance, purposefully hitting different spots on the board, or even getting a swing that just touches the board while barely disturbing any sequins. After several minutes of those kinds of drills, I found my success going back to hitting the "correct" spot on the board increasing significantly (as Adam Young would predict). cnosil, cksurfdude, aerospace_ray and 1 other 4 Quote TS3 9.5°, Tensei Blue CBX T3 15°, Project X HZRDUS Black Epic Super Hybrid 18°, Aerotech Steel Fiber FC HYB S C722 21°, Ventus Blue 8S CBX Iron-Wood 25°, Project X HZRDUS Black 6.0 639 CB, Aldila NV 95 Graphite, 6–PW CBX 48° T22 54° and 60° EAS 4.0, Garsen G-Pro grip TP5x and Tour Response Full WITB with pictures
GolfSpy MPR
I'll add this: I'm really excited that this might be a big key to starting off my season well here. As most of you know, our season is short. And even when the course opens, it's generally very soft for many weeks after opening as it's continuing to dry out from the winter's snow on a clay-soil course. Because it's so often wet, fat shots are punished pretty severely: I've compared it to playing everything from a fairway bunker. Normal winter practice can actually hurt in this regard: a normal mat lets you get away with fat shots. So all that to say, I'll definitely be checking into this thread in a couple of months to let you know if I come out of the gates with some crisper ball-striking than is customary for me. cksurfdude, cnosil, edingc and 1 other 4 Quote TS3 9.5°, Tensei Blue CBX T3 15°, Project X HZRDUS Black Epic Super Hybrid 18°, Aerotech Steel Fiber FC HYB S C722 21°, Ventus Blue 8S CBX Iron-Wood 25°, Project X HZRDUS Black 6.0 639 CB, Aldila NV 95 Graphite, 6–PW CBX 48° T22 54° and 60° EAS 4.0, Garsen G-Pro grip TP5x and Tour Response Full WITB with pictures
