I came across this picture of a Kirkland Signature Iron on Reddit. Has anyone seen this elsewhere?

Maybe they hid the forged for somewhere else... right on the top line perhaps? or somewhere on the hosel?

I would 100% (and more) buy and demo these first chance I got - especially considering Costco's return policy.  If it's as well-designed as their wedges, this is a no-brainer.  I think they look fantastic (giant logo aside, of course) - simple, beautiful, and if the price is right (and it will be), this is an incredible (and some would say inevitable) move.

Hopefully the shafts are...adequate.  If not, I'm sure there's enough DIY info on the forum to guide me in my first foray into reshafting 😉

Am I crazy?  No one else thinks these look good?

Look good so far, would like to see the top line and offset, but I would give them a run, look nice.   Is this real, or is it a photo prank.

If it's a prank, it's one I've been waiting for, lol.  It tracks, in my opinion - first balls, then putter, then wedges - all well received and reviewed.  They've proven that they know how to work well with partners at creating a quality product at a SIGNIFICANT cost savings for consumers.  I've played their balls (slightly too spinny off driver for me, so have switched out) and currently play their wedges - and I'm continually impressed with them both, especially at the price-point.  Assuming (and it's a big assumption, but still) that the irons are a) real, and b) follow the same rule of craftsmanship, then I will for sure be giving these a go.

I do believe it's real - it's been a few years since they introduced the wedges, and when those came out, there was an interview I read with a Costco chief saying they were looking at designing (or, you know, "designing") a set of irons in the coming year(s), so the timing makes sense to me.  Plus, golf is still so hot - makes sense from a retail perspective that they'd release these sooner than later (though, I definitely appreciate that they didn't appear to rush these into the market).

Again, considering the incredible return policy, putting these in the bag for an extended test just makes sense to me.  Hoping these make a "sooner than later" appearance in my local store.

If so, I'll be sure to document as best I can.

What's fascinating to me about that is that their site shows only putters and wedges - so I'm wondering if this is a new venture for them as well?  Also, their stuff isn't exactly "cheap" ($150-ish wedges, $350+ putters) - again a surprise, given K-Sig's expected price-point.

Maybe it is a prank? Very curious as to what's going down with this.

You asked, I delivered - lol.  It's not a club if it doesn't say Forged on it, right? RIGHT?

Now, the question begs asking if the face is forged or if the hosel/body is forged - I'd almost prefer the latter, since then it would (theoretically) be easier to bend after purchase, yes?

There is a market for these with COSTCO customers.  Those buying their gloves, balls, putters and wedges will most likely jump on them.  Looking to save a buck and continue doing so.  Instead of getting fit, buying a properly fitting set and saying money in the long run.  Continually looking for a game thru cheap sets costs more in the long run.   A friend of mine has a garage of cheap and sale clubs.  Does not believe in purchasing premium golf clubs.  Just sayin'.  Again life is about choices.

They completely missed the opportunity to have a carbon topline like the Cobra Radspeed, they could have used it to spell out forged and save a little weight to distribute lower.

I'll be interested to see the reviews on these.

Yawn…. I can’t even get a Kirkland RH glove as a LH golfer, at least at retail. I still don’t get why the wedges are 52-56-60. Assuming most Kirkland buyers trend to 15+ handicap, 48-52-56 would make better sense with G.I. PW coming in at 43-44 degrees. At least the initial putter was only a blade. A mallet would be a better fit in the core buyers. Expecting the irons to equally not match to their core purchasers. …Or me as a LH golfer.

... At least you are consistent. The vast majority of golfers don't get fit and don't continuously buy "cheap sets looking for a game". He!! the majority of forum members don't get fit. And since less than 1% that play golf can shoot par or under, there is a very large segment of the golfing population that will never break 90 and plenty that will never break 100. So it wouldn't be a relevant comment on a thread about the new Hyundai Accent SE at $17,740 and say the money would be better spent on a Genesis G90 at $88,000. Of course it would but even if they could afford it which most can't, that isn't the point of these threads.

Indi’s stuff isn’t cheap. Costco’s wedges, yes, are 3-for-165. Indi’s wedges are listed at 150-ish each.

Definitely interested! As was mentioned before, their Costco's return policy is amazing, so you buy a set, go to the range and try them for a while. If the results are good and you're in the market for irons, you probably just saved quite a bit of money.

I usually change my irons every 5 years and I'm on year 3 with my Mizuno irons, so I will have a chance to read all the reviews and hopefully they are still making irons in 2-3 years...

-Driver: Cobra Aerojet LS 10.5 (Kai'Li Stiff shaft)

-5 wood: Cobra Aerojet (stiff shaft)

-Hybrids: Cobra F7 stiff shaft set at 19.5 and 23.5 degree

-Irons: Mizuno JPX 919 forged 5 to PW ( Project X LZ 6.5)

-Wedges: Vokey SM7, 50, 54 and 58 degree

-Putter: Odyssey O-Works Red #7 (33 inches)

I play between 70 to 80 rounds per year. Living in Alberta, Canada, our season is shorter and with work, that is all I can get in, but watch out when I retire...

P.S. The picture is from my favorite course so far.

Just to be clear - I’m someone who IS interested in being fit into clubs, and I’m still interested in these clubs. Assuming they come in halfway-decent lofts, adjusting the lie angles to fit my setup (2° flat at last fitting) and putting shafts in that I prefer (Nippon 105s that are currently in my irons) makes these an interesting option to me.

Their wedges are excellent - sure, limited (no) grind options, but for the vast majority of golfers (myself included), they’re an incredible value. I did swap out the grips after a year, which has definitely made a positive difference, but overall, there’s very few (if any) better options at that price.

if these irons can fit a similar profile, they’re going to be brilliant.

and even those of us interested in a fitting might use them - shocker, I know.

Golf.com did a review based on what is known so far.  A 4 iron was turned in to the USGA for approval so 4-9 or maybe a PW looks like the set as they won't want to overlap their wedge set.  It does say tungsten on the hosel and indications are it is hollow. Polymer filled?  Not known yet and no indication of steel/graphite and flex available.  Also says at least who designed the clubs. Check the link.

... One thing is a constant. Costco Signature products are researched and only given the Signature name if it has the highest quality. Obviously that doesn't mean it is exactly the same quality as P790's, Forged Tecs or Pro 225's but they certainly aren't cheap Hireko bargain clubs either.

Of course it would but even if they could afford it which most can't, that isn't the point of these threads.

Like I said it is about choices.  I have always said in life we afford what we choose to afford.  Guess as a retired state employee and my wife a teacher we planned well for our retirement.  She likes BMWs and I like KIAs and Titleist equipment.  On a public forum our right to express our opinion.  FYI - Regarding what percentage shoot under a 100.  In a report dated a few years, golfbloggers based their findings on the National Golf Foundation data. According to their statistics, 55% of golfers break 100. Here is the breakdown according to their study:

Average score:

Under 80 – 5%

80-89 – 21%

90-99 – 29%

100-109 – 24%

110-119 – 10%

120+ – 11%

... Of course you do and I am certainly not suggesting otherwise but you missed the point. What I am saying is when you go on a Kirkland ball thread and say people should buy ProV1's it isn't very relative or helpful. Most here are Carl Spackler/Danny Noonan not Judge Smails. But again you have every right to post whatever opinion you want. 👍

For those speculating on pricing, Costco frequently has a fixed profit margin on what it sells. So I second the thoughts that this will be in the $350-450 range.

FWIW, online they added a stiff shaft and ladies version of the Callaway Edge set and are selling two different Honma iron sets and two different Bettinardi putters both well below normal retail (because they have the fixed profit margin). KS as a brand isn't a simple store label like Aldi - they are a store label on upscale products they know are widely popular. For example, their KS coffee is roasted by Starbucks for them.

Also, Costco has the best return policy in retail. No questions asked returns if you don't like these clubs. So if you can spare the initial dollars, there's virtually no risk involved if they're not for you after some use. That doesn't happen if you buy off the rack at DSG/GG.

I come from modest means and play muni's.  Have played the Kirkland ball but find ways to purchase the Prov1 ball within my budget.  I just spend my golf budget wisely.  A few of the golfers in my men's league like that ball.  Their attitude is as many as I loose, why buy a Prov.  I can afford to loose these.  Honest.   I bought Provs for 37.50 last in 2021 during their loyalty program.  I understand living on a budget, being retired.
