Popular Post Girldad18
@MattWillGolfso sorry to hear this. Prayers for your wife and yours recovery from this. Scary situation there. @StrokerAce I guess I am too attached to a gamer like that to sell it. Maybe when I move way on. But putters to me keep that magic that you once had...I don't know. Weird golf superstitions. I still have my high school Zebra putter although I didn't consider myself a good putter then. One day I will sell it I am sure. I will say I had a Odyssey, the black ones that were popular in the early 2000's that I used up until 2020 I think. But I don't think I will sell that ever as it is a fall back. Sounds weird that I would switch right. Golfers....always looking for something to help. And it is probably us causing the issue. Anyway, Good Friday to all the spies! Popular Post tdroma98
@StrokerAce good video. Mo Norman could stripe the ball. My golf buddy told a funny story about Mo Norman this past Tuesday. Norman is at the range and sees this young man hitting balls at range. The guy had a fast swing, racing through the bucket and hitting ball all over the place. Norman saw enough. He briskly walked up to the young man and said: Son, why are you in a hurry to hit bad shots! what a character & spot on! Popular Post Karls0991
@MattWillGolf Wishing your wife a speedy recovery. This happened to my stepdad a few years ago and he didnt go straight to the hospital and almost died. Happy Friday to everyone. Enjoy the song I start every Friday with for the past 12+ years. Got a round scheduled this afternoon. Will be in the mid 50's, sunny, and low wind here in Metro Detroit which should be perfect for March golf. My goals today are to just be grateful to be playing golf on a Friday instead of working, routine on every shot/putt, and only focus on the one technical thought I have been working on with my coach. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning all your crazy Spies out there!! It's a chilly, but sunny morning here with a current temp around 48*. But the high is set for mid to upper 60's. The weekend looks awesome for some swing practice - 74 Sat, 77 Sun. I have a lesson Sat morning and will stay to hit a bucket at his range afterwards. Sun seems like a great day to get some more range/putting/chipping work in, depending on how much laundry room work dad wants to knock out now that the replacement cabinets are here. I'm working on some pre-fitting write-ups that I'll likely send to the fitters I'm scheduled for at the start of May. I have it trimmed down to 6 pages. Granted only about 2.5 of that is actually details about the fittings and my game. The others are screen grabs from Shot Scope trying to share statistical details about my game, in case that's helpful. I'm sure I'm WAY overdoing it, but that's one of my many MO's. Well, off to try and get some work done today before the weekend. Have my yearly review today, so that should be interesting. Not expecting anything bad, but you never know. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone!! @Dead Solid Bogey and @William P… sorry I didn’t post yesterday… thanks for pointing that out in the Good Evening thread. It’s good to be missed, I guess! Wife and I had a couple of errands to run, and for some reason she asked if I wanted to walk 9 holes; something she doesn’t want to do very often. Couldn’t say no, could I? The weather was sunny but a little cool at 54º. I did want to see how bad the course is after aeration… not bad really!! Not an aggressive punch on the greens and they rolled pretty well. Had to bump the ball out of the plug holes in the fairways. I treated this as a practice round, so I brought my Ping reverse armlock Kuchar-style putter to try out. Had decent speed with it and made a 6-inch birdie putt. Still doesn’t feel as good as my regular Ping putter; I need to work with setup and ball location. I did get in 9000 steps according to my Garmin S62 watch. Here’s a pic walking down #7 looking to the SW where most of our weather comes from; also looking in the direction of our house. We made it back to the clubhouse just before a few sprinkles started and the wind hit with 45-50 mph gusts; blew my stand bag over in the parking lot while loading clubs in the trunk. As we left the parking lot, lightning was hitting the top of the hills behind our house. Strange time of the year for lightning for us. Popular Post fixyurdivot
Top of the pot spies! . Looks like a great day and weather for our 1237 tee time at Granite Falls North... though winds are going to pick-up late afternoon. Thought I'd share this for prosperity... in the event rounds 2 and or 3 don't go so well . This is the round 1 results of Grand Men's Golf League 54 hole Net Club Championship from Wednesday. Round 2 is tomorrow and round 3 is next Wednesday. We play three of our four courses. And, just like the pro tour does it, the subsequent round tee times are done reverse order - with players in the lead teeing up last. Unfortunately, Saturday's weather forecast is calling for high winds (20-30 mph with gusts to 40) late afternoon... that will make things a bit more challenging . I'll not be wearing my wide brim hat, that's for sure . Looking forward to the rest of the challenge and hope I can keep the solid play going . Have a great Easter weekend everyone! Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies! Going to be in the low 80s when I finish the round this afternoon and that is fantastic. I actually have a plan for today's round. Not much more than I don't need to grip it and rip it every shot. That and accuracy is more important than distance. It is just further evidence of how wonderful this community is of which I have been blessed to be a part. Wishing you and your wife a quick and speedy recovery. It takes special people to foster dogs, so hoping your recoveries go well. All the best.
