Good luck! My ex has known she was adopted her whole life, but hesitated about seeking out her biological parents for fear of upsetting the adoptive parents. Eventually she obtained non-identifying health information about the biological parents which triggered the search. It took a while (and the divorce was in between) but she finally found her mom (dad had passed away) and a couple of half-sisters. So my son has a couple of aunts now.

UPDATE: I wasn't sure if her mom had since passed away or not, but my son tells me she hasn't. So he now has another grandma and two aunts.

Movers packed us up in record time yesterday. Started around 10 and finished around 6 last night.  House is empty aside from our suit cases, some air mattresses, two couches.  We normally leave the day they pack us up, but we don’t fly out until the 30th.  I’m ready to retire, seeing all of our memories get boxed up is really wearing on me…. 
 

At least I still have the coffee maker.

Good Friday morning to all of the MGS nation.  
@Bad Golfer congratulations on the “ thingee “… @Wheelieb good wishes and good vibes for your meet-up. @rkj427 great use of down time… There should be a law for mandatory standby generators in schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and golf stores.  
Not much going on here in the soggy bottoms. Had a quick walk about with a new family pet.. 

Told the family’s female leader.. That if the weather doesn’t change that we may need to get her a boat instead of the SUV she is wanting… Needless to say; the humorless highness didn’t find my statement funny. 
  With NO golf to offer sanctuary from the SHE being; I am  out an about running some errands. Somehow ended up stopping for  breakfast about 54.7 miles from the “ Dark Kingdom “… Had some very good fajita tips, hash browns, and “divorced eggs “ ( A man can dream ) ….

My fellow spies; use this Friday as you will to get you headed to the weekend that you desire..

Good morning all... from sunny Vancouver Island..

I am excited for this weekend, I have the opportunity to play in "The Royal Colwood Invitational" a local tournament that hasn't been played for 6-7 years. 

Beautiful AJ McCaan designed course with a long and rich history.

Practice round today at 1 pm PST. so I will start by going to the short game practice area and do some chipping and sand work, probably arrive at the course around 11 and do my work then as I won't get to do much "feel" work before my 9 am tee time tomorrow, get a feel of both, then to the putting green to get an idea of the speed. 

I know the course well so don't need to spend much time with the "yardage book" but as I mentioned to @GolfSpy_APHI usually do before a tournament, I tee off number 10 tomorrow so I start my planning from that hole. 

I know the head pro there, he is my swing coach, and know my way around the clubhouse but if it was my 1st visit I would familiarize myself with both so I am comfortable before my 1st. round.

Had a good day out on the course yesterday, will be finishing up some review and my final for part 1 of the course I'm in. Ready to rock it, and really wish I didn't have to complete the review beforehand but it will get done. No major plans for the weekend except watching the Travelers.

I can't seem to get back into the groove to update/read this thread each morning like I would want to. Work has been nuts but there is a light at the end of the tunnel that is golf and a golf trip next week.

So with that being said and approximately 7 minutes left of the morning on the east coast, good morning! I hope everyone is doing good, I hope your golf game is where you want it and I hope you all get a head start on the weekend

Good morning! Noon-O-one here, so not quite morning, but I still have coffee left, so I'm counting it! 

Work has been busy, but I'm tired from staying up with sick kids last night. I'm hoping I can get through the afternoon with no emergent things coming up, but Fridays are usually when everything crumbles. 

My son is the only kid who's feeling good, so I'm thinking about taking him to the course for 9 holes tomorrow. Otherwise I'll just be getting in some reps on the Exputt with the DF3!

Friday… thank god it’s Friday. Was a pretty good week but this morning ohh boy did my supervisor pick the wrong day to get on my back. Well we have a meeting later about my attitude so this should be fun. Boss loves me and laughed as I slammed the door on the way out of my supervisors office. Anyway hope everybody else is having a fantastic day, hope the suns shining and balls are flying straight. May the wind always be at your back and bunkers be under repair.

I really didn't expect that to happen as I have only been playing golf for couple of years now. The one guy I played with last night has been trying for 40 years and still hasn't had one. He said he had a few close calls but nothing that dropped in. 

As far as the the screen name change...

I feel like I'm still a Bad Golfer most of the time. I was actually only 2 over till the last hole last night and put up a quadruple bogey but I was kinda thinking about how much the bar tab was going to cost me. Lol

I got an email last week from my golf club in Scotland. They actually offer golfers insurance over there which covers things like dinging people's windshields in the parking lot, stolen clubs, damaged "buggies" (golf carts) and, yes, bar tabs after a hole in one.

Here's a website for one of those golf insurance companies: https://www.golfcare.co.uk/ Interesting that it also covers golf-related dental expenses. Not sure if that's from taking a Titleist in the teeth or from a 19th hole fight over who pays for the drinks. Maybe both. It says "whilst playing golf" so maybe it's a Titleist (or a Callaway) to the teeth.

Good afternoon to the GMC!   Just finished playing a course in Springfield, MO called Rivercut.  The cool thing about this course is hole #14 has a rock wall along the left side of the fairway that dates back to the Civil War.

Yikes! I have a tee time here tomorrow at 1410, expected to be around 100*. I think I'll make that a game time decision!

Nice. I used to do wine but I hated waiting for a year for it to be ready. And I have a tasty lager or two on tap!

It hit a few yards short of the green and bounced up on taking a direct line strait at the pin. My one teammate said holy $hit it has a chance. We were all watching it and I seen it drop it. My one teammate said it went in! The other guys had trouble seeing it at that distance. 

One of the other groups heard us yell and went over and looked in the hole and sure enough it was in. It is still hard to believe.  

Congratulations!! My first of 2 was 175yds slight downhill with a 7iron, hit the flag about a foot up and rode the flagstick right into the cup.

Hope you have a few more,, btw how much did you have to spend on drinks after the round?

i got an american style lager that I will probably start once this heat goes away. I dont have a basement I can keep it in to regulat the temp. I'm a big Yuengling fan, but drink the hell out of Land Shark

The wine I make is ready to drink about 2 weeks after bottling. My wife's cousin drank what I had left from the last batch, which was from almost a year ago and it still was just as good as day 1

I’m spoiled and have a glycol system I can use to manage my fermentation temperatures. Allows me to ferment anything at any temp, any time of the year.

Good morning Spies!

Up way earlier than expected but taking the time to get a few things done before daylight and while the house is still quiet.  Will be getting a pork butt on the smoker before too long and then plan on hitting the range this morning to work on a few things.  Wife wants to spend the afternoon together so the normal afternoon round will have to wait until tomorrow.  Happy to do it as she lets me golf whenever I want.

On the golf front..... my fitting case from Foreward Golf should be getting sent out this next week and I'm looking forward to documenting the remote fitting process and seeing what "prescription" they give based on the process.

Good morning Spies! One more work day in Philly (off on Saturday? fuhgedaboudit!), fly home tonight. Got another work trip on the 29th before departing for Scotland but it's only one night to Baltimore. Racking up the frequent flyer miles on multiple airlines... Hoping I'll have enough that my 2025 airfare to Scotland (I'm sure I'm going back) will be a freebie.

Great news @Wheelieb!

Did Fit For Golf last night and my right shoulder is not happy, even though I purposely reduced the weights for the shoulder stuff. Fortunately my shoulder rarely bothers me when I play golf. My case of golfer's elbow is another issue, but I can largely ignore it (ice massage does the trick, if I ever remember to do it).
