Well I was unable to follow up yesterday’s round. Better weather today, but not stellar decision making. Had 5 nice birdies; however, they were offset with 4 doubles. Greed and thinking I was invincible really killed this round. Sprinkle in a few bogies and pars you end up with 79. Ouch, why do I keep playing this golf course!!

Okay, I know what people are saying. 428-YARD DRIVER THAT IS RIDICULOUS THAT ISN'T EVEN POSSIBLE. Honestly, I get it I might roll my eyes too but I have proof and it can be attributed to 3 high school golfers who were playing with me.

Here is the story, hole 9 out here is 560 yards We have had 20 - 30 mph wind gusts all day, and this particular hole the gusts were directly behind me. I thought what the heck tee it high and let it fly. So, I did just that I hit the perfect high toe shot with the Qi10 LS and the ball took off! I then got up to my ball (not at all expecting it to be where it was) and ranged my next shot. 132 yards were all there was between me and a potential eagle. I just missed it but I did score the birdie. Definitely my best hole by far for the day. I did have a lot of other great holes but this was definitely the highlight.

image.png.2ac6160314a62a05ec2f1e1814ec561f.png

The large circle at the top is the tee box, the Small circle is my ball, and the red arrow shows the 150-yard marker.

I will put the actual yardage based on elevation in Snowflake and Wind.

Elevation - 5880 * 0.00116 = 0.07%, 0.07% * 428 = 30, 428 - 30 = 398

Wind - 398- 30(Wind in mph) = 368

This might be the best round of golf I have ever played! Not in score, but score and conditions. High 30’s and low 40’s in temps, high winds and occasional rain. I kept it together and just stroked it today. Hit 10 fairways, 14 greens and the key was 29 putts! I’ll take a 67 in these conditions everyday! I may not win this event, but this was as good as it gets!!

Great round. I haven’t played this week. I hope to tomorrow, but I couldn’t grip the club in my left hand today because of a sore finger. Took the day off. It was cloudy and cold when I made the decision, but of course 10 minutes after tee time it became a beautiful day. (At least from the office window.)

Thank you! Hope you get out there. I had a great round, but it’s too little too late. My hope now is for the March Madness!

I’ll be out tomorrow. It was just cold and wet an hour and half before tee time. I decided the weather man was wrong so stayed home. Wifey came home 30 minutes after my tee time and said, “I’m surprised you aren’t playing golf, the weather has been beautiful for the last half hour.”

I’ve decided to replace all my grips with JumboMax. Swing speed is significantly higher with them on my test clubs.

Last round of the week.

Seems to be a common pattern emerging and I think it could be fitness. Start well, hit the 6th hole which is a real tough walk up hill, then go on the bogey trail for the next few holes and struggle to get my game back on the back 9. Today 1 over after 5, then 5 over at the turn to 12 over finish.

Guy, GREAT WEATHER today. Felt awesome on the range and it translated very well to the course.

On hole 1 I carried the downslope on the par 5 and the slope and dead grass combo led to 170 into the par 5. 3 doubles kept me from my best round ever but I’ll take -2 on the par 5s combined!

Just an absolute transcendent experience. Amazing place. Shot 41 on the front and came back with 32 on the back and the most birdies I have ever made in my life AT THIS COURSE. Phenomenal.

Big boy course (8200 from the tips, we didn’t play those lol), but really enjoyed the routing and conditions (greens were very fast for having big thunderstorms the day before).

All in all, pretty good round all things considered- strongest part of my game today was putting (which hasn’t happened in awhile)! The Scotty must know I’ve been doing so many mock-ups of the DF3 😂

Alright, Soo.... Played holes 4-12 at even par (7 pars, one birdie, one bogey). Played the last six holes in +7. Lol.

It was CRAZY windy on the back, and most holes coming in were directly into a 2-3 club wind (hit 7 iron on the 145-yard par 3 - normally a stock 9 iron) and it STILL came up short.

But what I really noticed about the round is that I get really, genuinely tired after about 13/14 holes when I walk. I played the first 11 holes solo, and made it in 2 hours, and then caught up to a foursome ahead of me, and another single (in a cart) caught up to me while I was waiting at 12 tee. But by the time we got to 14, my legs were just...beat. Hard to swing with no leg-strength, and I started get out of rhythm, etc.

Going to be adding a few neighborhood walks over the next few weeks to see how/if that helps.

Best shot today, by far, was a 120 yard 48° that I had to flight down and let skip up between two bunkers: lipped out and left me with a (literal) kick-in birdie.

IMG_8829.jpeg

(Keep it under the limbs, let it skip on up... Birdie, baby!)

2nd best was a 25' putt for par that I got on (low-res) video. See below to see my beardless face lose its mind over sinking it.

Man, somehow I knew I wouldn't hold the long drive. I tried again today with the wind and got close to my previous drive but just couldn't get anything more out of it. Great Drive @CB Lobo 4 Life, maybe I'll get you next time!

Unfortunately, I blew up today. I couldn't make a putt or even hit a GIR to save my life and while I was hitting a lot of good shots, they just weren't enough.

The day where good strikes happened just hardly ever in sequence.  Great tee shot, followed by a poor approach….. the round stated and ended well but pretty much everything in between was less than stellar.  The one shining moment was on 12, got my long drive followed with a great 5 wood and stuffed my approach to about 4 feet, and made my birdie putt.  With my longest putt of the day falling on 13.  48 feet, for bogey…🙄.  That’s golf I guess
