ACCRA X L.A.B. Putter Shaft

I bought a new from the factory Mezz Max Putter with a White ACCRA X shaft. The other day I noticed a crack. I then torqued it slightly to see if it was just on the surface but could see it was cracked through. I was happy with my putter and LAB up until the point when they said it would cost $250 to fix. Now I know what you are thinking and NO, I have never slammed this putter or thrown it. In fact there is not a scratch anywhere. Just a cracked shaft.

Has anyone heated up this insert and removed the shaft?

Yikes!  That sucks man.  I have the black Accra shaft in my MEZZ as well.  Has me a bit concerned.   I would just use a heat gun.  Shouldn't be any issue in pulling it I wouldn't believe
