I just saw the video of Cam Young breaking the shaft of his new GT driver out of frustration, Titleist needs to drop him now as I don't care if Davis did win using one as Bhatia gave him the win with his missed putt.

A couple notes:

Young didn't break the shaft on purpose, he just leaned on it yes out of frustration and it cracked, not broke in half, but became unusable.    Should be  a good  warning for all us who think we should never hit a bad shot,  Young will have a new shaft in his GT this morning.   We would have to order and buy one. 

Also Davis still plays the TSR3.

Here's the latest Tour Report from Titleist on how many and who used the GT at the Rocket Mortgage.  These are just the debut ones, not players that are already playing it that weren't there. 

31 MORE PLAYERS SWITCH TO GT DRIVERS AT ROCKET MORTGAGE 

The rapid adoption of NEW Titleist GT drivers continued this week in Detroit, as 31 players added a new GT2, GT3 or GT4 model to the bag at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. That includes 25 players who gamed a GT driver in their first PGA TOUR start since the new models launched at the Memorial. 

 

Titleist was the most played driver at Detroit Golf Club with 62 drivers in play (39%) – and 44 of them were GT models, more than the nearest competitor’s total number of drivers (33). 

 

Last week, GT drivers made their DP World Tour debut with 28 players making the immediate switch. A week earlier on the Korn Ferry Tour, 25 players put GT in play in their first week of availability.

Yeah I just saw that Young broke his shaft out of frustration which is part of the driver as it was not performing very well for him as he missed a lot of fairways and was around last in driving so shaft, driver all the same, he got upset and I did see C.Davis was using his Tsr3 driver.

... Many are under the impression OEMs insist their staff players use their newest clubs. It was specifically Titleist I talked to at the pga show and was told nothing could be further from the truth. OEMs want their players to WIN and as long as they are using that OEMs clubs that's all that counts. If a player wins using a TSi3, Titleist can put out an add that says X Tournament was won by X Player using their Titleist driver. They include a picture of the GT driver and the casual viewer will think they used the GT. Same thing for a commercial, just show the player swinging a club without saying what they play but give all the benefits of the GT series. It is implied they use the GT but never stated. Of course the Engineers think the newest club will be the best performing and will always get the player to hit them hoping they change, but in the end whichever club the player prefers will be good by everyone. Worst case scenario is a player using the GT, plays poorly and says around a camera or a reporter they prefer their TSi and wished they hadn't changed. 

... So that said, when sooooo many Pro's switch to the GT so soon, that says a ton about this new driver. Most Pro's don't like switching clubs ever, let alone in the middle of the season so there is something about the performance of the GT that has so many making the change. That is good news for Titleist and those looking for a new driver this fall.

Definitely do see this done, however to Titleist’s credit on their IG they have a photo with Davis’ TSr3 setup. 

I’m excited to see what advancements they have made with the GT once the embargo lifts. It sure seems like it’s getting some hype, but for us mere mortals who knows how much gains we could see. I am excited to find out!

... Right there with you in spirit. Unfortunately for a club ho I have stumbled on my holy grail and even though I will hit the GT, I can't imagine it performing better for me than my Qi10 Dream 7. I also have no issue with any OEM showing their staff player and a picture of their new club without saying they are playing it. Marketing 101 and as PT Barnhum allegedly said "There's a sucker born every minute".   At least MGS'ers are more informed!

i just scheduled a Titleist driver fitting at my home course for July 29th.

Does anyone have any insight into whether I’ll be hitting the GT line, or TSR?

... It depends on your course. Release date is 8/1 but many green grass accounts will get GT demo heads earlier than that.

Team Titleist are this upcoming week so and as @chisag release date is August 1 as I recall so could be either or. Best call ahead of time and check?

The fitting I signed up for specifically stated it would have the GT line available for fitting.  My fitting was on the 9th and it was lovely.

After starting out so well with the Qi10 standard I wanted to go for the Max and did very well with it as I had the VA Composites Slay shaft in it but lately I have struggled to hit it as straight as I would like. I went back to the stock shaft and it was a bit better but not giving me the flight I'm looking for and still wild at times of the Tee. . I seemed to have lost my confidence so I had to do something I thought I wasn't about to do again for this year but say what you want as I will eat crow, for if I can start finding the fairway again and get my confidence back I will join the club. I went and ordered the GT3 9* with GD AD XC shaft as the Qi10 had the similar looks of a Titleist driver. I need this driver to match my FOLDS OF HONOR Titleist bag Lol! I have to have something Titleist if I'm using their bag..right.

Does anyone happen to know.....do *all* of the fairway woods now use the SureFit sleeve across the entire line?  Meaning GT2, for example, 13.5°/15.0°/16.5°/18.0°/21.0° ?
