  1. TGIF fellow Spies!! Actually a really nice looking day here today .. the proverbial calm before the storm, I guess. This weekend promises to be messy followed by more rain next week... Temp hovering at the freezing mark, though, so looks like golf activity will continue to be indoors. So some garage swings, some basement putting, some exercise including a walk back and forth to acupuncture .. and then on to a date night out with my honey Hope your Friday is a *good* one!!

  3. Good morning Spies! Well it finally happened... Northwest Arkansas got some snow. It's pretty light and will be melted by this afternoon, but the good news is the weather forecast for Sunday's tee time looks awesome (as far as winter goes). Time to finally get these clubs on an actual course for testing! I can't wait!

    The Good Morning Thread

Good morning Spies on a zero commute work from home day for me. Sadly, there were some massive system updates in the systems I use, and it delayed computer functionality for a bit this morning. Have plans to go to a local SIM place tonight and play a round on Old Mac at Bandon to post it the Virtual Tour thread. Doesn't matter my score, more about having some fun later today. Hope @Kenny B is better today and may be at home much sooner than later. Hope that your day is the best it can be, no matter what may be in your plans.

  5. Good morning! Coffee in hand and just got things organized for the rest of my work day. One of my new year's resolutions is to do Yoga or stretching twice a week, to help with flexibility, to help with golf. Last night I did "Yoga for the core" and I'm feeling it from my ankles all the way up to my shoulders! haha I was bummed to read all the sad news for people on the forum: @Kenny B I'm glad you're feeling better, but that sounds scary to me. I'll be praying for you. @sirchunksalot and @GolfSpy_BEN sorry to hear about your furry friends not doing well. That's never fun. It did make me smile reading about @ejgaudette's little one's getting out and skiing! That's something I've wanted to do with my kids, but I don't really know how to go about it. Have a good day everyone!

  6. Good morning and happy Friday fellow spies. starting the day at a mild 42 degrees after last night's much needed rain, SWMBO has quite the schedule of events for me today starting with blood donation and followed with a big breakfast at our favorite little cafe. Hopefully get a chance to get some practice in this afternoon and continue working on swing change. Have a great day everyone.

  7. TGIF Spies! A balmy 19 degrees here this morning. Frosty. Coffee in hand, headed to the chiropractor this morning for the monthly snap & pop. Today is National Bird Day. So, if you get to play today, make a few birds. In light of the new equipment being dropped…. Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and weekend! Cheers

  8. Good morning and happy Friday! I'm up a little earlier than I have been getting up lately, between checking on the pup and the excitement of the Mevo arriving today I guess my mind was buzzing. Priya is doing good this morning and seems to be back to get normal self. She's currently made herself into a burrito under a blanket we have on the couch. My wife made her a special meal last night of boiled chicken because she was a brave girl who went to the vet. Plus, she snubbed the food we put down for her. The Mevo is scheduled to arrive before 3:45 and I hope it gets here earlier so I can take it to the range. We have rain forecast for tomorrow and I'm looking forward to getting some first impressions. @Kenny B I hope you are feeling better today, El Conquistador. I know you're in all our thoughts and prayers. I've got to run out and let my friend's dogs out a little bit later today then run to Walmart to pick up a silver metallic sharpie and a couple of pairs of jeans. My old ones are with it and one pair looks like I stole them from an 80's hair band. I hope you all have a wonderful start to the weekend!

  9. Good morning spies! 42 with freeze warnings all around. Has the citrus farmers hoping the forecasts are wrong. Playing the last round of the week with the Wild Bunch today and depending on how long the frost delay is will determine if we finish before dark. Wednesday I had the headlights turned on as I drove the golf cart home from hole 13 where we finished. As deep winter sets in the days are getting longer (today is one whole minute longer than yesterday ). This morning I will spend some time getting the "equitable scoring" section working for the Wild Bunch scoring program. It is an odd calculation that is taking more IF and IF ELSE statements than I thought. Hope everyone has a great day and a better weekend

  11. Good morning all, Busy day ahead, including a conversation this morning that could be beneficial, details to follow. Going to make another run at going low at Old Mac on the Rapsodo later, as my last round there felt like I left some strokes on the table. have a grand friday

  12. Good morning all! @Kenny B Glad to hear you made it through and wish you a speedy recovery, and @sirchunksalot sorry to hear about your dog and hope they find something to help with the seizures. Had the first night of cross country skiing league for the kids last night and boy was it a cold one. Was in the 20s but wind was whipping make it feel like 10 with no sun by the end. When we were moving it was ok but as the adults had to start standing around more boy was it cold. It was good though my girls are a bit too young so they go out there, and it was the first time for my 2 year old daughter but she hopped right on some little skis and had a blast. It was so cure to see here out there while so little. Another cold start here, but looking like snow on Sunday! Hoping for a nice base layer out there. The made snow is OK but nothing beats the real stuff. Have a great Friday and weekend all!

  15. Good morning everyone. First day back to work but at least it’s just a work day. Morning will be spent getting out equipment for our archery unit and getting our second semester rosters and grade books set up. I get to pick up an Apple TV from FB Marketplace this afternoon and will get it connected when I get home. That should let me connect my phone to the TV in the garage and start getting even more from my Rapsodo. Breakfast burrito is in hand and now off to buy an overpriced cup of Java. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

  17. Good morning and happy Friday spies! Could not sleep last night so today might be a long day. No real reason for it either, brain just did not want to chill. Current temperature is 21° with a forecasted high of 36° this afternoon. Looks like that will be the pattern for the weekend as well. Looks like it will be some indoor putting practice on my end. Have a great Friday everyone!

  19. Good morning Spies, Wishing @Kenny B well and that those stents lead to a quick recovery. @sirchunksalot glad Priya is back to her old self. Exciting about the Mevo delivery . It’s 26 out with fresh snow on the ground here in CNY. I’ll have to run on the treadmill today. Will be going suit shopping later today in preparation for my son’s wedding next month! Wishing all a wonderful day!

Pace of play keep moving, watch the weekend warriors attack the course LOL! Finishing up 2nd cup of espresso and cleaning up some office duties, then heading out Prayers with @Kenny B & @sirchunksalot! Still can't get used to Jason not posting first each morning. LOL. 21. Good morning from the frozen South, also known as Virginia. It is currently 10 degrees fahrenheit, with an anticipated high of 40 degrees later this afternoon. I am going to play what will likely be my last round for a week or so as we are expecting a lot of snow tomorrow, and I am not one that enjoys playing in the snow! I do really dislike snow LOL

  23. Oh man whatta day of such _bad_ personal news @Kenny B my still virtual golf buddy (he and I have been talking about meeting up somewhere for a few years!) -- best wishes for a full, and speedy, recovery!! Remember you have to be tough to get old! @sirchunksalot really hope pup pup gets stabilized on the meds. Yeah it is heartbreaking when you see them hurting, and they can't tell you what's wrong .. and they're looking at you to make them feel better... @MattWillGolf and @GolfSpy_BEN .. also very sad when your fur baby gets old.... Heartbreaking. Just keep doing what you're doing = love and treats and keep them comfortable...

  24. Morning all! Taking a little mental break from work (working from home)... too many new Paradym Ai Smoke videos showing on youtube feeds already. Ha ha. The distraction of new product vids is real and won't go away for a while. Chilly garage workout this morning followed by a recovery dog walk in the chilly sunshine of central Indiana. Indoor sim session planned for this afternoon, work allowing. Need to keep greasing the groove. Hour session. Stretching and warm-up at home before heading to the sim. 20 mins range drills and keep dialing in clock drill distances for wedges. 40 mins virtual round. If nobody is on after me i might get to finish 18. Have a great Friday and weekend, Spies.

  25. Morning Y'all TGIF am i right? Even though it was a short week, it feels like I have worked for a month. Chilly days ahead and maybe snow for SW Ohio over the next week or more. The wait for golf weather is a real struggle. Especially with all this new equipment coming out. Anyways, hope everyone has a healthy and happy weekend. Cheers

  26. Good morning spies! Glad to see the finish line in sight as this busy week comes to an end. Hoping to be productive today in order to avoid any weekend work. Have a tour scheduled tomorrow morning for this 24/7 golf sim (basically you pay either a monthly or annual fee for unlimited access via an app on your phone). With the Mevo testing and going stir-crazy in the Chicago winter, I may pay for a month of access to get as many reps in as possible. Will keep y'all updated as it's a pretty cool concept that I don't hear about a lot. Also have a new bag expected to arrive early next week that I'm excited to share with all of you. Will likely do an unofficial review for those who are in the market for something new! Hope your Friday is quick and golf is part of your day!

  27. Good morning! 4 am wake up, 5 am job site visit, 6 am work out (it's leg day!), and just got back from dropping my truck off for an oil change and service interval. Wrapping up a couple of quotes for some small projects, and then planning on putting in some swings into the net this afternoon. I decided I'm going to utilize Austad's for the fitting this weekend; I'll report back as to what they put me into and what the numbers look like. Sorry to read all the health speed bumps everyone is having - wishing speedy recoveries to all that are afflicted!

  28. Good morning and TGIF Spies!! It was a good, short week to help roll back into the swing of things. I wouldn't say I accomplished much, just getting out of bed each morning and logging on was a win at this point. Did a little bit of this and a little bit of that though. So I did actually work. Full week next week, short week the following, and then the LONG haul to Memorial day. Ugh.

  29. UA class of 1982 here. Glad to see another Washington County peep as a fellow Spy! Left NWA for Fort Smith in 2010, then Fort Smith for NC in 2018. No snow today in Michael Jordan's hometown, but I did have to scrape my windshield this morning before leaving for an appointment. Said appointment is at one of these stretch places that are popping up. Seems like I am gaining some flexibility that may be of benefit in my golf game. Hopefully it will warm up enough this afternoon that I can go to the range and try it out.

  30. speaking of "garage swings". Hank Haney recommended 100 swings, 3-4 days a week in the off season, even in the garage if need be, I usually do that by going through by bag, 5 swings each, from PW-3 wood then back down from 3 wood to PW. Just keeps the rythym and tempo going for me, I have a mirror in the garage as well so I can see the positions of the swing.

  31. It is weird seeing others post before I do, to be honest. I've got to go back to work next Friday (which doesn't make me happy, why Friday?) and then I'm off till Tuesday. After that I'll be waking up and be on early.

  32. I would see if there are any spots around, start with what they call classic style cross country skiing and get going. Some places offer lessons, just start on flatter areas and take your time. It can be a blast, and you kids will most certainly pick it up faster thats what happened with ours

    The Good Morning Thread

... Tiger said when he wasn't nervous/anxious on the first tee he would stop competing. Over simplified it just means you still care. I remember my first time auditioning for a major motion picture and I was so nervous I am not sure I remembered to breathe. I never experienced anything like that playing QB at any level. But the more I auditioned the better I got at managing my nerves. They never go away of course because it can mean so much but they stopped derailing my chances of being cast (shooting an 80 between a 68 and 67) after about the 5th time. ... So now I enjoy the "rush" and think the Eagles said it so well in Desperado "Your losing all the highs and lows ain't it funny how the feeling goes away". Give me anxiety over comfortable every time.

  43. Good morning Spies! Just a busy work day for me. Waiting on an order to arrive from Golfworks, and also the new to me launch monitor is shipping out today, which means I need to get to work on some sim space this weekend. I have to clean before I can build. I feel like I have been talking about it forever with little progress to show. Well here goes. @Kenny B I hope you are feeling much better. @sirchunksalot Jason I hope the pup continues a strong recovery! I wish everyone great days, and hope some golf is in your weekend plans.

  44. That's awesome! I was hoping there'd be someone from NWA on here. I grew up in LR and went to UALR, but after moving between Houston, Memphis, and Dallas for my wife's job we settled in Fayetteville six years ago. It's amazing here. We're members over at Paradise Valley. It's a good track, but my favorite course up here is Pinnacle. I worked there for a few months when we first moved here and really liked it, but the commute combined with my wife's schedule and kids school schedule made it really difficult. I had a landscaping business for a few years before I ended up at the botanical garden managing operations there. If you ever make it back to NWA definitely hit me up and let's play a round together!

  45. I recently tried the Maxfli Tour S balls and really like them. So much so, I purchased about eight dozen with the this Fall's Golf Galaxy/MyGolfSpy promotion and special pricing they had during the holidays. On New Year's Eve, I saw I had a Golf Galaxy promotion expiring, so I looked for something to use it on. I came upon the Maxfli Tour S personalized balls at two dozen for $70 (the same as regular ball pricing), so I couldn't resist! I received the custom printed balls in five days, with one of those days being a holiday. Overall, that's pretty good turn around (printing and delivering to the end of the earth here in Key West) at a very good price. I can't wait to represent on the golf course!

  46. I’m signed up and already worked on scheming (oops I mean planning) a way to make it a business trip for the week. Success It only makes sense, right! Since I do have a project going on with the Navy at Newport News. I do cover Virginia and the entire NE Coast. I have other customers in VA like all the Dominion power plants. Sounds like a business trip to me. Leave Monday drive to Raleigh spend the night. Visit a customer on Tuesday morning. Play a round of golf. Drive up to VA someplace spend the night. Visit some customers. Get closer to the resort spend the night. Check out Thursday morning and maybe meet up with some of you for a Thursday round. Sure hate all my work traveling. But somebody’s got to do it.
