Michael.Sandoval33
2 minutes ago, Indy_Oz said: I played midsize most of last year and found them much better than standard. But I switched my driver, woods and hybrid to a mix of Golfpride Jumbo and Jumbomax S and XS. Currently trying out Jumbomax Ultralight and Zenlite Medium grips. So far, I've found the Jumbomax grips really help reduce wrist stress and help to quieten my hands through the swing. Easier to maintain good wrist hinge angle. It has made a noticeable difference with my driver. I'm putting a couple of them on irons this weekend to try out on the sim on Sunday. Not cheap to completely regrip the set with them if I end up going that route. Wedges should be interesting...I'm wondering if there's much of an impact on feel. I was looking at the Jumbomax's as well. I have long skinny fingers, so anything to reduce the stress on them is the direction I want to go. Sounds like a solid plan you got going and I actually might look into doing the same as my driver needs a regripping no matter what. As far as the wedges, I could see where feel might be an issue, but personally I feel my grip when using my wedges is a lot more relaxed so it might not immediately need to be addressed. Definitely things to think about. Even that isn't so much a need to replace spot, it's just that the one I have isn't quite the best option for me anymore. BallsLeon
After a terrible putting performance yesterday, I immediately started looking at LAB putters once I got home However... after some deep breaths and introspection, I think my issues have more to do with the archer than the bow . So, I started looking for something to improve my putting practice, and came across the Putting Thing from WhyGolf. Think this would really help me get control over my putting stroke, and love that it works well both indoors and out. cksurfdude 1 Quote Driver : Rogue ST Max LS, 10.5° loft, MCA TENSEI AV White 65g, Stiff flex (45") 3-Wood: Rogue ST LS, 15° loft, MCA TENSEI AV Blue 65g, Reg flex (42.25", tipped 0.5") 3-Utility: 699 Pro V2 Utility Satin, 18° loft, HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80g, 6.0 flex Irons: T200 6i-GW, 27°-48° lofts, Nippon Modus3 120g, Stiff flex (+0.5”, 1° upright) Wedges: Indi FLX S-Grind, 52°/56°/60° lofts, Dynamic Gold Spinner 115g, Wedge flex Putter: King Vintage Sport 60, SteelFiber P125 shaft (34"), Quad Tour Taper grip Bag: Ultralight Pro, Ski Patrol/Black Push Cart: Nitron, Black/Red Rangefinder: Bushnell Tour V5 Shift 2023 MGS Forum Review: Sugar Golf Balls (Final Review Posted) 2023 MGS Forum Review: Sycamore 009 Mini Putter (Final Review Posted) 2024 Unofficial Review: The "Putting Thing" by WhyGolf -TJ

Indy_Oz
First round of the year yesterday confirmed a few things for me that necessitate some financial expenditure... 1- My putting is shocking. Ha ha. I really like the feel off the face of my Sik putter, but I struggle with alignment more than I did with an Odyssey O-Works Seven Tank I borrowed for a month last summer (when I had my best rounds for putting). I am going to test a load of putters and get a proper putter fitting this spring and a putting lesson. I am curious to try aimpoint. In the meantime, I'll keep working with the putting mat in my garage and the indoor putting green at the sim/ training place I go to. I can't use the excuse of "well it is still winter and it was my first round" as I struggled to hit the <2.0 putts per hole target last fall and I really do need to focus on that to drop my scores and handicap. 2- My driver is fine for now and I don't really *need* a new one just yet, despite enjoying the latest driver releases at recent fittings and wanting to try a Ping out on a course.lol. So $$ saved for now. 3- I definitely want to switch out the shaft in my TM MG3 50* gap wedge for the same KBS C-Taper Lite X-stiff shaft I used in my irons. Relatively cheap upgrade. Once the 50* is swapped I'll consider doing the same for the 56*. 4- As soon as the weather warms up and the practice centers open, I need to spend a ton of time in bunkers! Ha ha. Growing up in the UK, my local courses had consistent and soft sand bunkers and I always had good bunker technique. But now my local courses are mostly relatively bunker-free parkland courses and lots of the bunkers lack in soft sand and are hard baked surfaces or inconsistent. Might go for a short game lesson or two soon and make sure I have the right combination of wedge bounce in my 56* and 60*. TLDR: Replacement shaft for gap wedge (and maybe SW). Wib081
So I got a set of Radspeed irons out of the company well was catalog last. Year didn’t have shaft choice just had the irons in there and I thought why not. Turns out they’re a regular flex and I’m swinging to fast for them. I try to consciously slow my swing down, but I’m beginning to wonder should I reshaft them or sell them and get into something like a PXG that I can get fitted for and still save some money? So I guess I’m looking a shaft and some PXG’s atm Josh Parker, Michael.Sandoval33 and cksurfdude 2 1 Quote I’ve got a bad reeling about this

I got the Tour Series model in XL. I typically play MCC+4 MIdsize grips with an extra wrap on the bottom since I tend to get handsy/flip. I decided to try the Jumbomax on a 3 wood that I have been hooking like crazy. Played it for the the first time Friday and I have to say I'm convinced. The first couple of tee shots (first two swings ever with the grip on) were pushed dead right likely because I'm conditioned (due to the hook) to aim way right. 3rd, after an aiming adjustment was crushed dead center. It was an adjustment to get used to the feel but I'm very happy with the results thus far. I'm not ready to switch over on all my clubs yet, but it has me thinking about what other clubs in my bag could benefit. So I'd say they're worth a flier, especially if you grip your own clubs and don't have to pay someone else to install them. cksurfdude, Josh Parker and Michael.Sandoval33 2 1 Quote Ping G400 (10.5*) Honma TW757 3h (18*) Honma TW757 4h (21*) TItleist T200 (2021) 5-AW Taylormade Hi-Toe Raw (50*) Vokey SM8 (56*, 60*) Odyssey DFX Doublewide Taylormade TP5 Pix
