sp0rtsfan86
I finally admitted defeat. After losing my old rangefinder, I bought one a few years ago from shot scope. Honest truth is that I never could trust the distance. It often can't find a pin, struggles with trees and gives 3-4 distances. It finally hit the point of I can't anymore during my last round. On a par 3 I got a distance of 150ish to the front and 150/175/180 towards the pin. Ended up on the green but took 15 seconds of time. Next hole, same sort of problem. 150, 170 , 180. Turns out it was 140. 2 holes later, same deal. I have been struggling for awhile and decided to get a used bushnell XE off Facebook. Frankly, I just couldn't deal with having to guess the distance and having zero confidence in distances-- especially for irons. I doubt this will be my last purchase but we shall see. RickM71
Informed my Mizuno JPX 923 Forged irons have shipped and should arrive this week. Can't wait to use them. Also trying to figure out what I will do for wedges. The gap wedge in the Mizuno set is 49 degrees. I currently have a 56 degree SW, but thinking maybe it is time to do a wedge fitting and figure out if I should go 52, 56, 60 or 54 58. And also trying to decide what I'll be doing at the other end of the bag. I have a new driver and then my irons. I'm thinking maybe a 5 wood and a 4 hybrid. I'm not sure it is worth carrying a 3 wood but that may help reaching par 5s and also be a nice alternative off the tee on tighter holes.
