palvord
On hole #2, I hit the best approach shot I've been able to execute in some time. I'm not sure how I did it, but It went straight at the flag and stopped after one bounce. For sure, I benefited from the wet conditions, but I'm still thrilled with this birdie. 00sportsman
This is my drive on a par 4 that my phone GPS was claiming 301 to the middle with the pin probably 5-10 yards towards the front. That is pin-high just off the right of the green, not out front. The ball is a new Maxfli Tour, and I took the time to line up the CG before my drive. I was pretty happy with it. On a whim, I also put my old Ping Eye2 sand wedge in the bag. Hit two of the best bunker shots I've hit in a long time. Rickp 1 Quote I always try to remember that I'm not good enough to get mad! Ronoc
Played yesterday on the first sunny/no rain day we have had in a long time. Rough round overall but I like that I now can at least understand what I'm doing wrong when things go bad. The issue is learning to be more consistent and actually fixing it haha. Towards the end of the round there was some glimmers of hope. On a par 3, #17 I chose to go with my 8i and hit a crisp 170 yards. Sadly I ruined par with a bad putt, but I was happy with the initial shot! PING Apologist #9
Today my 5w shined. Had 2 shots with it that qualify. Shot-1: 2'd shot on a par-4. Nailed it and though I sent it a little left, is was only short of the green by 10-yds. Shot-2: Tee shot where anything longer for me will find water. Flushed it a little right this time (& dry), but in real good position for about a 135-yd approach shot which I promptly skulled into a hazard... pulledabill
Played the back and started 18 +2. Bend a 6i of off the tee around the dogleg left. Pull a 4h figuring that would leave me a wedge in to this par 5. Hit my worst shot of the day. Basically topped it leaving me 205 to stick..Over a creek as well. at green front. Hit the 4h again and can see its online, but lose it thanks to a rise inte fairway. I see te ball take a big hop but lose it again. I walk up not sure if Im inte creek, rolled back downte false front or what. Get tote top of the hill and see my ball right at the stick. Keeps geting better and it ended up 2 inches from cup for an easy tap in +1 round. Im guessing my ball took a big hop whenit hit the false front. MaxEntropy
After pulling tee shot into trees my ball kicked left and came to rest in a penalty area close to an old barn. Dropped under a tree and backswing was going to "tick" leaves and follow through was definitely into the branches. Normally this freaks me out and I don't make good contact. Hung with it this time and hit a nice 8 iron that landed about two feet from the cup, backed up, and almost went in. Shotscope says 1.3 feet, but it was more like 3 inches. (Edited final putts is a little dicey in Shotscope - the zoom is limited and that was as close as I could get it, especially on my phone.)
