Well, folks!! Looks like Dave has spun out of the race... the claim of having an identical shot has been on the back of misinformation. Shame really, I enjoyed the “prestige”.

 

While Foz did claim that to be “shot of the day”... it was on another thread. His “best shot / best hole” submittal is below.

 

So, to me, and I'm no expert, when you point out that your shot is better than another... apples must compare to..... apples

This is what can happen when the short shots are straight.

By the way, where I come from, "short" and "shot" are often pronounced exactly the same.

Only mine was to a 2 tiered green to a tight pin over a bunker.. from 150.. and to 8ft not 12... Just saying..

BTW, that particular shot of the day, on a different day of course, was an 8 iron curved around the trees over the creek to draw into the back of the green.

 

My wedge over the lake to 2” from the hole is the “Bomb”.

So I have been thinking about whom to chose. This is hard. We have 3 well deserving testers with great shots.

How to choose? Hmmmmmm.

So, who doesn't love the long ball...all 376 yards of it, I certainly do but Joyzee, I'm sorry mate, countryman and all, I can't give you the vote. I can give you a 2 thumbs up though.

 

Reese, 150 yards to 12'...seen it done it, sorry mate.

 

So that leaves Foz. What's not to love about a nicely stuck PW, over a lake, more than 100 yards to 2" for a tap in bird. A couple of more revolutions and it would have holed out...and that my friends, is how you get my vote.

Slow down now. It wasn't just the distance. It was the fact that he had the stones to pull driver on that hole in the first place. Tight fairway and danger all around, with his distance he didn't need it but he did it anyway and smashed it like a tour pro. 

 

I suck and I've put a wedge within 4ft before... Now holing out for an eagle with a wedge. Then it might be a competition but I mean come on...? a shot none of us except for Joyzee can even get close too or a shot that most of us have done before. Come on guys... #latesmacktalk #teamjoyzee

Late to the party on this one, but I had to think long and hard about all the shots I hit with the F8's.  As I high handicapper, and testing out the One lengths I had a bit more adjustment time that I thought it would take.  I also didn't hit the fairway woods as well as I thought I would.  Did I hit bombs like Joyzee ?  No.  Did I hit precision guided, laser like wedges like Foz ?  No.  Did I have rounds that made me say, wow ?  yes, but not in a "I want to remember this round" type of way. I can't really say I had a shot or a hole that I would consider worthy to even put up for this challenge.  It is what it is.  With that thought, I'm on vacation in Myrtle Beach (and no, I didn't get to play one round of golf ).  I've always wanted to do this though...

Alright, I had some time to ponder my vote. No I am not changing it, but I wanted to validate it some. Yes the 373 yard bomb off the tee by my man Joyzee10 is amazing...no doubt and yes this is a week 7 competition of the best shot. Now with all that said let's take this analysis a bit further. With Joyzee10's old clubs on this hole (strikes being the same) he would have hit Driver with maximum distance of 304 which would have put his second shot 254 yards away. So he would have grabbed the 3 wood and even though I assume he hits his 3 wood great like all the rest of his clubs...this is still a much more difficult shot. Now his play on this hole really show off the power of these Cobra F8 golf clubs. He hit Driver 373 yards!!!! So that amazing drive left him 185 yards out. Now with his old clubs not only would a drive that far be impossible, but his second shot with his old clubs would have been 7 iron or maybe even a 6 iron. Thanks to Cobra's amazing technology this wild man got to hit a freaking 9 iron into a Par 5. The confidence he displayed on the drive alone shows the potential confidence we all could get by playing Cobra F8 golf clubs. Look at the freaking picture....most of us would have had to change our underwear at the sight of that impossible driving hole! His friends were probably thinking oh crap this one is going into the fescue or crap we have to walk back to back with our boy into bear country...not with Joyzee10 on the tee and firepower like the F8 driver in his hands...one more thing look at the scorecard I have attached...that hole is the number 1 handicap hole on the entire golf course and with good reason. Course designer Michael Hurdzan said in a recent interview for CTV News Vancouver that he is considering lengthening the hole by some 75 yards just to keep this from happening again. Sales of the Cobra F8 driver are sold out all over downtown Vancouver right now because of this 373 yard shot!!!! Good luck Joyzee10, I hope you win!!!

HAHA you're a beauty GG! What an analysis!! I will have to swing by the local golf shots and ask for my cut of sales going by this!  

 

You are right on the old v new on the driver. I have hit some deep balls with my old driver but I can unequivocally say it would never have got anywhere near this. 

 

I nipped that 9 thin and if it had held the green where it hit, I would have had about 6ft for eagle. Being thin, it skipped and ran down the back. 

 

I am up there again tomorrow. Conditions will be similar to this day... I will post it after!

I'm trying to take into consideration which of the shots was most made possible by the Cobras. Was Foz's shot made more possible by the shots that came before it? Same with Reese? While both outstanding shots, they were entirely within the realm of possibility with the old clubs, right? Joyzee? That ain't normal. Can you bottle some and send it my way? Driver, 9i for a par 5. I'm not worthy! BUT - you essentially only parred a 150-ish yard par 3 after your tee shot. If any of you would have made the eagle, you clearly get my vote. Since no one did, I'm officially casting my vote for MDGolfhacker simply for having the nads to go way out on a limb and take any number of shots (good, bad, and otherwise) with the one length irons.
