I will add they are highly manunaverable. Was messing around with mine out at the course yesterday and I have some moves with it. Was messing around on the range. One of my buds 2 sections down wanted to hit my hybrid. I told him stay where you are at. I was sitting down and ran the whole shootout over to him and told him wait and then I spun it around so he could select a club Then backed it up like a real caddy. When he finished I pulled it up got the club and moved it back to me. Had some of the older guys clap. Was in the clubhouse and had it sitting by the putting green in full view. Where I was sitting it had enough power to shoot throgh the window . I messed with that thing for a few minutes making it go back and forth. Then went on the patio. Someone would get near it I would make it move. Yep I was having fun with that thing yesterday. Drew quite a few questions. But I do not see any of those that asked buying one because they do not walk. Those guys do know I was walking like 5 holes before I got hurt. I told them this was part of my rehab. For my course, you often go from a side hill, down the hill, and then need to make a fairly steep turn to get onto the bridge. And there is often kind of like a ledge or bump to get on the bridge. Last thing i want to do is hit the bridge at an angle and flip the bag into the water. golfish!
Ok so almost got a whole round in but ran out of daylight. I did manage 15 holes in 2 hours by leaving the speed setting to 9 and jogging the whole time. Managed to scare off a twosome of old ladies in front of me and caught up with a 3 some in front of them. Got a good video of the DHC working well on a pretty steep hill. So I thought I could do a burnout and launch the cart...sorry folks it wont work...without a wheelie bar...that the M7 has... @Motocaddy can we make this mod to my M5 for you know...testing purposes...stability and all at high speeds though it would help on going up steep hills as well at low speeds. You can also see the clutch in effect with just one wheel on the ground the other spins, must be some kind of differential or a clutch to protect the motor? sorry for the sideways orientation but I can't figure out how to get it the right way. Also apologize for the giggling but I couldn't help it lol. After I picked up the cart, I jogged over to my ball on the next fairway @TBT I think you were asking about how it handles in the rough lol Video heading back to the clubhouse after the sun went down to show how bright the screen can be. hard to tell in the video but I haven't charged the battery in 2 weeks and this was after 51 holes of golf. Still showed a yellow status. I then kept the cart plugged in and hit a bucket on the range for the next hour before heading home and still had enough battery to drive the motor and get the cart to my truck in the parking lot. definitely would have made it through the last 3 holes if I had enough light! Popular Post BIG STU
Well I took on this test because MGS and Motocaddy had faith in me. I really appreciate the chance to try this out. Everyone knows I tried this along with my rehab. Well it is working. I have been going out to the range almost everyday. I noticed yesterday that I thought the caddy was slow and thought ????. Then I realized I had sped up nothing wrong with the caddy. So now normal walking I am on position 3. Our course was technically closed today for aeration but I went out and hit balls. Noticed I was not as tired as usual. Did do an stability experiment=== We have lots of tree roots here. I ran it through a root laden area. Ran it on 2nd speed and it rocked and rolled some but never even tried to turn over. Really it is very well balanced and I had it loaded with 16 clubs and my orange whip. Hopefully in a month or so I can do one of my 5 hole rounds again. But I will say the Motocaddy has helped me with my rehab so far. Did not do any enterainment today but worked on some moves with it. Would hit balls and decide to change clubs and I would roll it up to me exchange clubs and back it back into position. Heck when I sit down and rest on the range I will mess with it to see what it can do. Since no one was on the range today I ran that thing all over the area. I even nicknamed mine Rover. One of the course owners told me to go on the range and get me some balls because they had not picked. I went out about 100 yards or so and picked up balls. Battery life is great on the M5. This is with Bluetooth on and connected to my phone. golfish!
4 hours ago, tchat07 said: The big question here will be as the battery continues to decrease will you see a decrease in its functionality. Will it not go as fast will it struggle going uphill etc. Being that it is a Lithium battery I don't think that will be an issue. I know with older rechargeable NiCd batteries as the batteries lost charge the device would perform less (ie my old Makita drills get slower as the battery charge decreases). I think the benefit of Lithium batteries is that they maintain performance until they just stop working due to low charge. I have not see any decrease in performance as the battery got low and I played almost 3 full rounds on one charge. Just an observation though on the speeds is that the numbers are not necessarily the speed setting on the ground but I believe more the effort put out by the motor (amps maybe?) I notice that on uphill if i want to maintain speed I need to increase the speed setting and vice versa on downhills. Also notice that on the same speed setting, the cart will move slower through rough than fairway. Has nothing to do with the battery level though.
