Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spies, We had a rather rough evening. Five hours in the ER. The foster dog attacked my wife and I yesterday afternoon. I was saved from serious injury by a baggy sweat shirt and leather slippers. I have very minor abrasions and a destroyed t-shirt and slipper. Unfortunately my wife did not fair as well. She required stitches on her right forearm and leg. My wife in a word is amazing. The hospital staff at Crouse Hospital was exceptional. We dont know what triggered the dog. But she was 4 years old and as a stray we dont know her background. Animal control took the dog. Some positive thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated. @Dcfrench3 welcome to a wonderful and supportive community. The Good Morning thread is a staple of my day. Popular Post IndyBonzo
@MattWillGolf I am very sorry for this, and hope for a speedy recovery for your wife and you. We had a rescue attack our daughter in the face a few years ago due to food aggression, several months after joining our family and showing no aggressive tendencies. Popular Post Wheelieb
46 minutes ago, Erin B said: Donno if i should say congratulations on you retirement or not. It was bittersweet for me. I miss it every day. Good luck and keep us in the loop. 39 minutes ago, William P said: Congratulations on your decision! It may start out a little uneasy as it takes time to get accustomed to the initial lack of routine and comradery. As @Erin B commented I still miss it from time to time, but other things will fill the void. Thank you both. I can’t say I was fully ready to make the decision, but driving through the HRBT for another 3 years after my tour at my command now I can’t do it and won’t do it. I hit 20 next February but my contract goes until July of 2025. I’m still processing that fact of retirement being so close now. Something I never really thought I’d say. Just a bunch of, well if you re-enlist you can go to shore duty and get out back home. Then it was well you can get choice orders since you went recruiting. Then it was I might as well stay in until my high year tenure. Then I made the next rank and said I might as well re-enlist until retirement. But doing this for the past 19 years @William P, I think you’re right in saying the camaraderie is something that will be missed. And @Erin B, you are also correct in saying it’s bittersweet. I don’t know how else to put it, but that seems perfect right now. Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
Good morning this Good Friday to you all. To those celebrating the holiest of Holy Weeks; may your faith bring you solace, peace, and strength. @Wheelieb may the retirement decision propel you on another of life’s adventures, thanks for your service. @Shankster hoping the sale of the house goes quickly and the move goes with ease. Congratulations on the promotion and transfer. Congrats to the nation for being able to continue to rely on your continued service. “ Those people “ that pay my salary are still having problems reading a calendar. I am not suppose to be on the clock until next Monday, the 1st. Yet, here I am headed to a work location this morning to replace someone that is having “ personal issues “. The driving, shaking of fists, and hard manual dexterity use of the hands and wrists will be a good test on if they are getting better or worse because of those activities. It will be quite the joke on me, if golf turns out to be the main culprit in causing the wrist and hand issues. May everyone enjoy the coming weekend, whether it is a 4,3, or 2 day timeframe. CHA (Club Hoes Anonymous) is what really sucked me in to forum life when I started becoming active here. @Wheelieb good luck on your retirement. Retirement was thrust upon last year. Popular Post StrokerAce
well the gamer is gone... sold it last night and I gotta say I'm a bit emotional about it. I made some big putts with that stick, but we just weren't a match in the end. I'm sure it's going to a good home - the buyer is in Pinehurst. Anyone ever get emotional when you've sold a club and decided to part with it? looking forward to the new one coming on Sunday. hoping against hope that my new iron shafts arrive by Saturday so I can rebuild my set. if not, no golf for me since I've already pulled the heads and grips. in the meantime someone please tell Mother Nature to turn off this firehose along the eastern seaboard. we've had more than enough rain here. hope you all are able to find some time to have some fun this weekend and relax a bit with family. rkj427, sirchunksalot, Placasse61 and 10 others 11 2 Quote Driver- Titleist TSR3 10* Woods- Cobra LTD 3w 15*, 5W 19* Irons- Titleist 718 AP2 (5i-50*) Wedges- Callaway Jaws Raw (54/58) Putter- Wilson Infinite Grant Park Ball- Maxfli Tour X Buggy- Motocaddy M7 GPS Remote Electric Caddy Bag- Motocaddy Dry-Series Proudly testing for 2024:

The foster dog attacked my wife and I yesterday afternoon. I was saved from serious injury by a baggy sweat shirt and leather slippers. Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies. That out-and-back trip to Charlotte has kicked my butt. I got home, had dinner, watched a college baseball game (Hogs win!) and went to bed, which is not to say I slept well. Go back this morning for another Stretch Zone session, which should be interesting after all this time I've spent driving. I'm in the third month of my 3-month program and I just don't see enough benefits to keep going after the program ends, but hey, I've paid for it so far so might as well keep going until I run out of visits. Ordered a 10-pound medicine ball to use in my Fit For Golf workouts, which will begin... nobody knows. It's bad enough that the PTB here have decided to allow us to apply for other MGS testing opportunities, with the understanding that we will do the FFG test when it happens. Anyway, the medicine ball arrived yesterday, along with another box of dimpled orbs (GF is like what do you need all those golf balls for? I said water and OB is what I need them for). The only golf-related purchase I'm waiting on is the radar for my Rypstick protocol. Which I will do later today, although the radar isn't gonna get here for another week or so. An unusually slow Amazon purchase. @MattWillGolf just scrolled up and saw your scary story. Hope your wife recovers quickly. About 20 years ago we had a terrier mix who was a little nuts. He dug out of our back yard and bit a little girl on the leg nearby. It was about 72 hours before the girl and her parents found out who owned the dog and notified me, so she had to start rabies shots. I took those over at my clinic at the time at my expense. Her parents sued and my insurance company settled for $15,000 or something. Under Texas law, the dog had to go into quarantine, and the insurance company told me I had to get rid of the dog. Which I had already decided, and nobody was going to adopt a dog that bites, so I had him put down at the shelter. That was not a fun morning.
