Popular Post BIG STU
Up kicking and on the right side of the dirt this morning. Really slept good last night. I guess my body is catching up from playing 5 out of 6 days last week. But for me it is a good type tired. Have had no pain of stiffness in the back or legs. I attribute it to my recent use of the Hurry Cane walking to the tees and greens. I have gotten to where I use it some in everyday things like walking into a restaurant or the store. Planning on not playing today but planning to be WFO as far as playing Friday through Monday. Wife is working right now will be home about 8 or so since she will shop after work. We will "cheat" on breakfast this morning one of us will go to Bojangles for take out or we may go to the Pancake House. With my diet this is one of 2 mornings I eat anything but like Yogurt and protein packs for breakfast. I have lost like 25 lbs in the last month and a half doing that. I have plenty of energy on the course with this diet. Yep I will see what this day will bring. One of the things I relish in retirement. I am just now due to my accident in 2020 getting to the point I wanted to be in when I retired. Plan on being on the CC thing today. I am really liking it. When it comes up today it will be as hot and humid as Hades so I plan on being inside cool on my stool or neat in my seat RichL85, William P, Rob Person and 18 others 21 Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- - 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R---- Irons 5 thru PW 1980 Macgregor VIP Hogan Apex steel shafts--- SW -- Cleveland 588 56* S-400 Sensicore --- LW Vokey 58* SM5 L grind--- Putter 1997 Scotty Cameron Santa Fe Fluted Bulls Eye shaft--- Bag TM Flex Lite Stand---- Yeah I know only 11 clubs G
Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies on an early Thursday community call day from WNY on a zero-commute workday with coffee in hand and computers going online, and laundry already started - sometimes the mind is active early and I do tend to get most of my tasks done early each day. Golf yesterday was with regular partners Marc @Marc Threeput and Jim @The1C3man on Arrowhead GC in Akron NY, great round on a hot humid day with lumpy clouds more than direct sunshine that at times made it look like there was rain in the distance, that was only the shadow of the thicker clouds in the haze. We did have a brief sun shower but nothing more until we had turned in the carts to head to dinner, and it poured as soon as we were in the restaurant. Driver continued to be more on than off, still trying to get it as dependable as the hybrid, mostly bogies with a couple either side of that. Great to see Italy @Byrnzee and hear of things no as bad as thought, prayers and intentions for all who are facing health issues with loved ones, and for good health and strength for everyone. Hope to see/hear many on the community call later, will be on my travels to the HOPE session in Niagara County, and hope golf in any of its manifestations is part of your day! Enjoy northern Italy Hope you all have a great day and I’m interested to hear what @GolfSpy_APH has to announce today I will give you a couple of stories to maybe brighten your day on Police/Bicycle duty. Remember when I ran a Wrecker Service I worked with 4 different LE agencies on a day to day basis. Was on Ocean Blvd one day doing a LE related tow. This lady officer I know well rode up on a bicycle. i asked her did she lose her drivers license or something? Now it is a running joke among MBPD officers that "bicycle duty" is punishment. It is not true and really in the summer it is coveted duty. She laughed and showed me her license. Said she was getting too fat riding around in a car and she wanted to look good in her new bikini. I quipped at her and told her I would think she was fine as she was and would be ok. She blushed among the howls of her fellow officers. She got her composure and told me "Thanks Stuey for making my day". That bunch at MBPD are a close knit and fun bunch as long as one obeys the law. Some of the officers ride those things called Segways. I said I had never rode one. One of the guys said well he could not let me rid his on the Blvd but come by the city shop. We were at the city shop quite a bit towing city vehicle breakdowns. I was up there one day and as he said he let me ride it around the parking lot after some instruction. I must have done good because his Captain told someone to give me a badge and gun and put me on Blvd patrol. Blvd patrol in the summer some like it some don't. My one bud whom I used to ride motorcycles with hates it. As SOP for him he gets assignments as far away from the Blvd as possible. He was on the County PD and switched to the city. He says part of his deal from switching was no Blvd patrol. Of course he will respond WFO if someone needs help. Other officers love it. Beach patrol positions are coveted in both the City and County departments. I do not blame them there. Cruise up and down the beach in 4wd trucks and look at bikinis all day. The Beach patrol officers are certified also in water rescue. The last 2 weeks with rip tides they have been very busy and they have had like 3 drownings the last 2 weekends. The bicycle officers are in great physical shape. I know of one who will drop the bicycle in a minute and chase someone down and man can he run. Incidentally his last name is Owens and everyone calls him Jessee Owens. LOL one time they had a chase in from the beach of 2 guys who robbed a bank. A vehicle pursuit ensued and the guys crashed and got off on foot. I was working a call on the other end of the city and the officer and I were listening on the radio. One of the guys quipped "Where is Jessie Owens when we need him" The patrol Sarge quipped on the radio "he is off duty today so catch them yourselves" Which they ended up doing. One of the things I miss not being in the wrecker business is working with the LE folks. One tradition we had on Christmas day was we did a huge BBQ at our shop I mean 2 whole Hogs. Everyone on duty from all 4 agencies plus firefighters and even guys from the other wrecker services were invited. I remember Jessie Owens stopped by and asked if it was ready. Yep I told him and he called dispatch and told them to announce the BBQ was ready at you know where. Popular Post rkj427
Good morning Spies on Community Call Thursday. Today for me will be another busy day, as I do a walkthrough at the show venue to see what changes may have occurred to the layout and resolve any issues we see before Saturday this morning. Then tonight we hold a "Goodie Bag" stuffing party where we have a group of 10 who put together the items we give to the show participants when they arrive., and then load them into a rental truck we use to transport all of our needed supplies to the venue tomorrow. Should be home for the call, and that will be my hour to relax a bit today. Hope that all have the best day they possibly can, and that something fun and enjoyable is in your plans. @cksurfdude some of us know that code all too well. Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! MGS has done it again with the Shot Scope Pro ZR test! Wasn't sure I was ready to jump back in the testing pool this soon but that one convinced me. We shall see... Day 3 of 3 in Miami. Finding the Cuban restaurant last night was interesting; it was on the top level of a four-level mall with three separate blocks of shops, only loosely connected. If you got to the fourth level of the wrong block, you had to go back downstairs to get to the correct block. But it was worth the effort. Before that, I got in a good Fit For Golf workout, my first since I completed the FFG review two weeks ago. Focused on lower body last night. I feel like the next key to better golf for me is improving my footwork and some more leg strength will help. Plowing through one more day of work and then flying home tonight. My alma mater opens football season tonight while I'm in the air; maybe I can get home in time for the fourth quarter. Don't think I'll be able to watch on the plane. I think I'm safe from any road trips next week; maybe I can get out for some golf to try out the new push cart. Hit 'em straight and putt 'em straighter! Popular Post Davemoto9921
Getting ready for today. Might take the day off tomorrow and take the family to Black Butte ranch for 18. Beautiful place to go. My son is going to be a senior this year and is going to be on the varsity golf team. It will be his third year golfing on the team so he's super excited to get moved up by the coaches and I'm super proud to see it all come together. Popular Post slash25rc
Good morning everyone! about 3.5 hours of "work" left till vacation starts. Got a 4.5 hour drive after that but excited for the UNC/Minn. football season kickoff tonight at 8! Repurposing the projector in the sim room at the beach to stream the game on the big screen! Looking forward to a long weekend of relaxation, golf, and pool basketball with the family! Will post some pics from The Surf and photos from an updated WITB once we are back home. Everyone have a safe and happy holiday weekend! Popular Post fixyurdivot
Top of the pot spies . Well, I thought I was being tongue-in-cheek when I made this post yesterday and said "I'm going to have nightmares and sweats seeing that approach in my dreams"... but sure enough I did wake up in the night thinking about it. That one is going to haunt me for awhile. No golf today but I may go over and do a little short game and putting practice after we take River for a walk and the gym. I'm adding another workout station to my list that helps strengthen lats and, hopefully, improves trunk rotation. @Byrnzee, that looks absolutely miserable... I'll bet your all aching to get home . Have a great day all and strike then well if your out chasing a ball down fairways! Popular Post Wib081
Good Morning MGS, Well today is starting slow and I am more than okay with that. Last couple of days have been a bit nutty at work. Have a package coming from guerilla golf today and it's a mystery. I was the comment picked to win a spyder putter from them a few months back but the comment they picked didn't have a mention in it. Although @Michael.Sandoval33 being the good friend he is mentioned to them after they called me out in their story on instagram that I in fact mentioned him specifically and was replying to him in the comment. They said they'd send some headcovers as peace offering. Picked up a hitting mat and hybrid head cover off Temu this morning and will post over in CHA when they arrive. SWMBO said no more tearing up the yard taking divots whilst hitting old range balls my neighbor gives me into the woods. That's this mornings report, have a good one all and hit em straight!
