You name some hidden gems @GaryF!!
I loved Wekiva Golf Club, a hidden gem when Mr. Bowman owned & operated.  He kept that course well maintained.  Wekiva is now owned by Seminole County.
Timacuan is now private again. A bit challenging.  It was briefly opened to the public for a couple of years. Mike Bender - Bender Academy had moved to Magnolia Plantation (which is closed to golf), taking his stable of students, including Zack Johnson.

Alaqua has also gone private - Alaqua Lakes CC and in very good shape.  Senior qualifiers in Central Florida, are often held at Alaqua Lakes, love the course, it's a fun course & challenging. Deer Run (the site of my first hole-in-one) is now closed 😥.  Sold to a developer, however Seminole County has since purchased because of the water.  Back in the late 80's, I used to cut out of work early, on appointments of course - lol, meet some friends to play Deer Run. If was far enough from my house so I wouldn't run into anyone who knew me or my wife 🤣

You'd might be surprised by some of the changes and some of the courses which have closed. City of Oviedo purchased Twin Rivers
City of Casselberry purchased Casselberry Golf Club
Seminole County purchase two courses: Wekiva Golf & Deer Run
City of Winter Park purchased Winter Park Pines Golf Club

It's definitely benign.   The person that read the MRI that I did Friday saw what looked like it could be a hemangioma but couldn't definitively say even though it was shown in an CT from 2016 and again in a CT from last month (but they didn't have that CT since it was done by a different medical group.   So the MRI yesterday was to use contrast to characterize it and make sure it was a hemangioma.

Glad to hear it’s benign. 🙏🏼❤️‍🩹

Interesting about the changes but not surprised. I forgot about WP Pines, played that a lot. Also played Forest Lakes which I pass on the 409 going back to FL home.  I arranged a couple alumni (not UCF) outings at Magnolia Plantations, and knew it closed as it was too close to the river, would still be wet after a long drought. Got to play Alaqua a few times - my wife started a girls golf team for her private school and that was their home course.  She turned over the coaching   but ironic she probably plays more than me.

We bought rental prop in Deer Run in the mid 80s.  Always had renters but tried selling in the 90s and literally could not give it away.  Then in the early 2000’s put a for sale sign up 3 days before New Year’s Day.  Got 27 calls the next day.  One guy called from the property asking if he could see it.  I told him my wife was there, just knock on the door.  He laughed, said he thought she was the cleaning lady.  I told him she is.  He made an offer New Year’s Eve day, met on New Year’s Day to sign paper work (3x what I paid) at 10am and in our seats by 1pm at the Citrus Bowl.

Sorry to everyone for digressing….

No, thanks for asking.  My home course is Ventura CC, but also play Stoneybrook East, Twin Rivers, Eagle Creek & Rio Pinar GC. Ventura was recently renovated & in very good shape. For nostalgia, I love Rio Pinar which was the home of the old Florida Citrus Open, which Arnie moved to Bay Hill CC.

Rio Pinar is an Orlando favorite. 👍

Great you know the course Matt! Rio was just sold back in July, to a group which includes Graeme McDowell. A couple of my friends are members at Rio and have seen McDowell out scoping the grounds. The course really does need renovating including drainage & greens.  The nostalgia of the course is fantastic!

You have a good memory! Forest Lake! Played that course back in June.  The course was in pretty good shape, fun layout. The growth in that area of West Orlando, is incredible. But no other courses in Ocoee have been built.  If you remember Stoneybrook West, they had closed & now reopening, the HOA purchased the course back. By driving SR 429 you can get to three courses from Forest Lake: Stoneybrook West & both Orange County National Courses within 10 minutes.  New Years Day at the Citrus Bowl is crazy! You had your priorities down! 🤣🤣

Good morning everyone and hello Friday! Getting ready for my loop today at Arbor Links. Knees are still a little weary from what amounted to four rounds in two days. These knees aren’t what they used to be, that’s for sure but we are ready for today. Hope everyone has some golf in their weekend forecast!

LOVED Arbor Links when I had my chances to get on it.  Enjoy!

Dang it…. Here is hoping the little one is better real fast. As I have stated in other posts…As an elderly individual, I am a big fan of the little ones. Especially the  newborns, they are like the elderly; NO social filter but with lots more energy.

Thank you!  Yes, she has all the personalities and keeps me on my toes.

Good Friday Morning Spies!

72 degrees & clear Central Florida skies.  No golf this morning, Ranger duties today. Maybe a little golf this afternoon after work & a Stack session.  Enjoying the first cup of espresso!

Game the Hogans @IndyBonzo! Go for it!

Have a Great Day Everyone!  Hit'em straight! ⛳

I really think I need to give one of those swing speed increaser systems a go.  I could probably benefit from it as I do have a somewhat on the slower side (I feel like) speed.
