Cold start but sunny and warming. Might make it to the range later. Been playing around with tempo in my swing. As a drummer, I started setting my metronome to 140 BPM and timing my swing cadence with it. Seems to be working very well. Who knew tempo was important? Prior to this my swing was nicknamed “the Flail”. Kinda between a sneeze and a convulsion. Today is National Guard Birthday! So THANK YOU to all that are serving and have served! Yeah man my wife is a pediatrician at the children's hospital here (she does double duty as a hospitalist and oncologist), and over the weekend she was shaking her head as Saturday the ER had over 50 kids in there, and they already had 39 admissions on the floor. The hospital itself only has 25 beds so they have to board kids in the ER while they wait for additional beds to come open when they discharge someone. It was a complete nightmare. Lots of RSV going around this time of year. It was extremely rare for me to ever get sick, but since having kids I can bank on having to take around 5 days off of work a year purely from illness. It's wild. Hope you guys feel better soon! I'm glad y'all reminded me of the call being tonight as it's been crazy and slipped my mind. My wife texted me yesterday with news that our storage unit was broken into and needed me there to see if I could remember anything that had been taken. Mostly it had been ransacked and they took jewelry that had been my mother-in-law's. A lot was costume, but we believe some was real. My wife was dealing with a lot of guilt over not bringing it back to the house. It's been crazy lately with us selling our rental property, finding out my sister has cancer, and my injury. I told her it wasn't her fault and we had already made plans over winter shutdown to go to the unit and reorganize it. I hope y'all have a good day! Received a text last night asking if I could keep covering the early shift for the rest of the week. Of course I said ‘yes’ because I get along with my supervisor really well and it will probably ended being my normal hours once my coworker retires, which should be somewhat soon. In other news, temperature is starting off at 25° and is headed for 52° today.
