What putters does everyone use?

I have been using for a few years now an Evnroll ER3, which is heavy, wide blade putter.  I find that it get a much better feel coming off of the face with it and even if I hit it off the toe or tip sometimes, it is not such a huge miss. I have a moderate arc in my swing so the heavy weight helps me to control it.  I also played for some years a Mizuna Bettinardi Black Carbon putter, I have to say that was my preferred stick before I tried the Envroll.  I still use the Bettinardi when I travel as I keep it in another bag, but I prefer the heavier weight feeling of the Evnroll.  I also tried Odyssey White Hot (too light, but I have one) and See More putter as well, I didn't ultimately like the feel coming off of the face on that.

I've tried numerous putters over the years, gamed an inexpensive Wilson Sam Snead blade then an original Zebra mallet before going with a Ping Sigma 2 Tyne 4.  Lately I've been keen on using heavier wide blades with a good amount of toe hang and picked up a used Scotty Cameron Squareback 1.5.  With a Garsen Quad Tour grip and some heavier weights (2 x 35 g for head weight of ~ 400g!) I'm very happy and putting consistently.  The only challenge now might be the expansion to the Mizuno OMOI line if they have a nice wide blade or mid-mallet around 380-400 g - tried the OMOI Type III and it was lovely but not quite as good under 10 ft as my Squareback...

I went back to using an old Ping Anser 5 that I did a little modification on. I was having problems getting the ball to the hole with my other putter. I'm thinking I might sell the Evnroll arm lock and go with a SC Newport or something else similar but I am putting so well with the Ping, I may just leave it alone.

Hate yourself, not the game...

I've struggled to aim the putter properly this year with my Edel blade and have been on the hunt for a mallet with longer alignment lines. I was able to get a stroke lab tuttle and cash in exchange for my Evnroll 2.2 I no longer user. Had my best night ever on the Stack putting app last night. If I can't aim this thing, then it's time for a lesson!

New Odyssey Stroke Lab 7s is ready for the course.  Added an Evnroll Gravity Grip at 105g, equalling the stock grip and shaft plug weight, and being color blind it helps to make lines fluorescent yellow.  Wife made the lines and all other golden rod color fluorescent yellow. Like my Scotty Phantom X 8.5.  Steady hands!

I've found that a BIG component of whether or not a putter "works" for you is the grip.

I bought a Cleveland Huntington Beach soft #1 with the UST shaft after seeing the results of the putter testing and almost gave up on it. I tried a larger superstroke grip on it and I've made more long/clutch putts since then that I'm not turning back.

I putt crosshanded.  Only use face balanced putters, I've spent a few minutes each with lots of mallets of various shapes.  I finally stuck a fat grip on one and that's all she wrote!  It is a cheap as dirt K-mart Precise, double bend, has a cheap white insert face.   I live near Torrey Pines / Carlsbad in San Diego, near a lot of stores and club companies, can try lots of big brands.  For now, the Super Stroke Pistol 3.0 fat  grips is near perfect.  If only my thumbs could stand up to the hours of practice for the rest of my game.

Ive learned more recently with practice that the biggest problem im having with my putter is speed i tend to come up short. Idk if its from the synthetic face that causing me to hit it softer or just how it comes off the face.

Been playing for about 2 years in total. Winter breaks and a 6month period when I got sick. Starting to feel like myself again and recently played a “okay” round.
I currently have custom fit Cobra LTDx irons/wedges, a Vokey 60(cause my short game has been the best part of my game, and a Maverick 9 deg. Driver. Driving is the worst part of my game so My 4 iron usually takes alot of the long game abuse.

Or you’re not making a big enough swing for the distance, or missing the center of the face, or ….😂.    Lots of possibilities,   Learning speed control is the key to putting.   How ar you practicing distance control and evaluating the issue?

Might just be getting hesitant. It doesnt seem to be any different doesnt matter the distance. Im just not trusting myself with it. Ive practice just having a smooth swing. It sounds absolutely ridiculous and ik that but mentally i fight myself

My suggestion would be to figure out how big of a swing/what feel you need to hit the ball those longer distances.   When i was testing the ExPutt simulator a couple of years ago I learned I needed to make a bigger swing than I thought.  Practicing those bigger swings built the feels I needed.

Yes!  My favorite putter I owned was the Ping Doc17 that was huge and I had it forever.  It was so beat up and worn down I finally had to get rid of it.  Haven't found another one quite like it.  Just ordered the LAB because it seems to resemble the set up the most, so we shall see.

I love my custom putter because it was built to fit me and my needs.   Anyone else using it will find it was not made for them but it feels good and rolls really well.   I would bet that if MGS pole what club position in your bag you have purchased the most putter would be the most followed by drivers.

I know its sometimes considered sacrilege to game a limited edition Scotty but I love my Jet Set Newport 2. The black finish is super easy to look at and love the weight and thin profile of the blade. Don't see myself changing anytime soon.

I question people's opinions on this stance.  If you buy it I don't see the point of saving it to put on a wall or leave in the house.

I think it just feels wasteful to me, to not use it.

I've never bought one with the intention to only use it for display purposes. But, I do have a small collection of putters I've gamed for a small period of time that I don't play any longer. I have a weird connection to them and can't let them go 🤣

I think that is reasonable. I have 2 putters that are sitting next to my practice mat. Though they are in no way special editions or anything

I have used these 3 this season, 95% the Sik dw 2.0 c slant neck.

I will say that the Hogan Sovereign wood/bronze face balanced is always consistent in use and I've yet to miss from inside 4' with it. I can't leave a $400 club on the side to use a $25 bargain bin find to give it extended use.

The Ping Wack E I keep on my wall as artwork. I could go play a round comfortably with it any time, though I have to be conscious of the large flanges dragging into the green and causing some awkward attempts.

I recently picked up an Evnroll EV5.1 and love it. The ball seems to not come off the face as hot as my Scotty did, but the dispersion is tighter, so it’s a good trade off.

I play a Scotty Cameron super select 2.5 plus 33” and genuinely love it. It has honestly brought my putting on so much. Don’t know if it’s just feeling more confident with it but I feel it suits me perfectly.

I recently picked up an Evnroll EV5.1 and love it. The ball seems to not come off the face as hot as my Scotty did, but the dispersion is tighter, so it’s a good trade off.

I am also playing an EvnRoll, I like the heavier weight and the way the ball comes off the face. It is expensive but seems all of the top putters are, for me it was worth the money as I have more confidence with that putter.

I think that is reasonable. I have 2 putters that are sitting next to my practice mat. Though they are in no way special editions or anything

Same - i have a small collection of putters on my practice area that I only use there and I will not part with them.
