I just added an update this evening with trimming and grips being installed.  My fellow builders are killing it with their ideas and customization.

Ok, got a little on-course time with the CB irons in today.  I definitely need to find some time next week to get into a shop and have some tweaks done, particularly to the lie angles.  I was really struggling with turf interaction...but then again, I was doing with the Taylormade wedges I've had for months too, so maybe it was as much of a function of a stiff, sore back as it was anything else.  I've got some simulator time booked tomorrow to do some more testing against the P7MCs.  The bounce angles and how they interact with the turf kind of remind me of how a friend's Srixon ZX7 (1st edition) played on our (surprisingly) hard ground here yesterday.  We had 10 inches of rain in the past 2 weeks, but both courses flooded, and the one we played had a layer of clay soil silt deposited over most of it that has left it hard as a rock now that it's dry.  At any rate, I had issues with the Srixon irons when I would get steep, and well, with a sore back from spending all week sitting at my desk, my swing might as well have been a seaside cliff...

For sure, I'm going to have a guy that's done some club tweaking for us in the past look at them with me during the week one day after work.  I normally leave about 3:30 PM on Tuesdays and try to get in 9 holes if the world hasn't come to an end (I run emergency management for a very large school district, so I accrue LOTS of flex time), but this week, that is probably going to be spent getting the Toura irons adjusted for me.

@azstu324 - When you mentioned earlier you'd forgotten to record your videos in landscape mode, I suddenly realized that I hadn't just forgotten to record ONE video that way, but ALL of mine.  Rookie move, I know.   Looking at conversion / editing options now...but I might just have to post them all as they are.

Incidentally, (free plug alert) if you love golf and live anywhere that doesn't have consistently dry and pleasant weather, you HAVE to get yourself a PGA Superstore Player's Club Plus membership...it's $149 a year, and just in this testing process alone, I've used their practice bays for at least 4-5 hours already, with another hour set for tomorrow.  The most you can book, even paying for it at the store, is 30 minutes, unless you're a PCP member, so it's great to get a full hour at one time.  Add in all the other the times I've used this since Christmas when our 2 boys and the older son's wife bought it for me, and I've far exceeded the per-hour rental rate many times over.  You also get a better points earning rate on purchases, so if you need to buy grips, balls, or clubs, etc., you earn rewards faster.

As you know, mine is borrowed.. but I plan on buying one for future projects. BTW, if you go back to my intro, you'll see that I have a MGS logo on my bag. That was done with the same machine a couple of years ago and cut into an iron on vinyl. I had my sister make it. It's held up perfectly over time.

Absolutely bonkers!!!  Love how it turned out too!  Will you be staying with the matte finish or going for a more lustered finish later on with the heads?

I kind of like the finish the way it is. Kind of a semi-matte. Once everything's built out and paint fill cured, I may just run some WD-40 over them with a very light coat and a shop towel. 

As for the copper paint and MGS badge, I'll probably hit that with a gloss coat to protect it and help make it pop.

I'm still suspect about the durability of this coating. It's supposed to be the most durable form of rifle blackening but.. nobody's really smashing their rifle barrels into the ground repeatedly like we do golf clubs. Time will tell.

I didn’t know they made small ones like that, I am going to add one to my list and maybe wait for a good deal to pop up. 

I’ve never done etching or bluing or messed with a cricut, but I think it’d be a really fun learning experience!

Hey y'all I just posted another small update to the main post. 

All of the heads are darkened and I'm slowly getting the paint fill done 1 at a time. I'm literally painting each one by hand because of the detail and because the etching just isn't deep enough to "paint and wipe" like doing the club #'s. 

I'm on the edge about doing silver paint in the club #'s. I'm considering just keeping it uniform and sticking with copper.. but then again I'm thinking it would look good with the silver accent on the ferrules. I'll need to do some experimenting with the colors and my ideas to incorporate a copper accent on the ferrules. 

So I guess I've decided to commit to the factory lofts before testing my gapping lol

I would either leave the loft etching alone or silver to match ferrules.

Ok guys I'm starting to have some internal hesitation on actually painting the MGS logo. The more I look things over, the more I'm thinking it just looks pretty darn good in black. More subtle and I love a subtle look. Then I could just do the club # paint fill in silver to match the ferrules. 

I'm seriously torn. Maybe it's just my anticipation to start the build kicking in? 

I'm definitely open to suggestions and I'm see definitely not closing the door on the copper paint fill idea.

That’s such a tough call! The copper looks really good, but the sleek black looks awesome as well.

I know if it were me, I’d probably lean towards black. But, I would do something pointless and still fill in it in with black, but a different sheen so it still has a little pop.

I might do a little experiment this evening with black or white gloss for the MGS badge. White would actually be interesting and definitely work with the ferrules.

While the copper looks amazing, my vote would be black MGS logo with silver paint fill on the number to match the ferrule.

But I’m also very simple when it comes to colors overall.

Just my opinion, the copper makes it stand out from a distance.. If I'm behind ur cart and they just look like solid black irons, I'm honestly not looking twice, but with that logo sticking out all the sudden I'm staring at ur irons trying to figure out the logo, then admiring the work.. Like I said, just my opinion
