... When I have a film/commercial shoot I think the hours will be long, the people unpleasant, the food abysmal and the actual filming inept or too many takes. Anything short of all that is a good day. On par 3's I think the wind will be strong, the greens erratic, the pin has more bounce than a hollow headed iron and although I will be within 6 feet on a semi-regular basis I do not expect a HIO. (So far the former has worked but the latter has not. )8 points

Only think I can think of is when they imported the new beta member test platform over? However really should not have effected just the default. Either way, the default has been buggy as of late especially when newer features are introduced. Good news is that I've found a quick fix for it so there shouldn't be any issues. For future reference if there is a issue like that to any and all, best to send a quick PM to myself or @GolfSpy_BOS@Golfspy_CG2@GolfSpy_CS@GolfSpy MPR@GolfSpy_TCU and one of us will get it sorted or be able to get ahold of the proper mod to sort it away.6 points -
This is one that I have a little different opinion on. I think from just the US perspective, the idea of growing the game is laughable. But if you are talking globally... that is a different conversation. This is a league that is viewable on YouTube, the most watched content provider on the planet. That reaches a lot more eyeballs then the PGA Tour and its current broadcast rights. While the LPGA tour does a pretty substantial world tour, the PGA tour doesn't stray from the continent that often. If LIV continues to travel to global locations and provide ways for people to watch for free anywhere on the planet... Its hard for me to ignore that as a way to help grow the game. It is also seemingly trying to include a pretty diverse group of players in terms of ethic and regional background. I think that claim of growing the game, while it isn't their obvious priority, can't be dismissed as not happening.6 points

My wife and I took a trip to Fletcher Park, a 1.5 mile hiking trail located here in town that I'd never heard about until I was reading on a local Facebook group. They mentioned it had a Japanese garden and my wife was wanting to go to take some photos for background references for art. It was a beautiful, 83 degree day with enough shade and a nice breeze that made the walk pleasant. We both took some photos and had a fun time getting out in nature. Our next trip will be to the Enterprise South nature park that sits right beside my work. I've been there on a team building exercise, but she hasn't and I think she'll enjoy it.5 points -

@Thin2win I feel your pain.. OK, How have i not seen this post earlier.. I have 2 that still haunt me to this day. The first came in the early 2000's probably 2002 I think.. we were playing in Eastern Washington ( both of these were on that side of the state) at a course in Bridgeport that has since closed. Early morning so there was dew still on the greens.. I think it was about 160, I hit a 7 iron, landed on the front and rolled past the cup. We thought it was a good shot but could barely see the ball. as we get to the green you could see the track of the ball it had rolled over the edge of the cup and stopped 6" directly behind it.. tap in birdie.. the 2nd we were playing At Crescent Bar, Having a great time Get to #5 Par 3 at the back of the course. plays 130- 150 depending on the pin.. for Me it was an 8 iron, I've played it at least 100 times.. I'm playing with my best friend his girlfriend and my wife. Been playing with Jim for 25 yrs.. I hit a absolutely gorgeous shot, on a rope to the hole.. Thwack, Hit's the Flag about 3-4" above the hole, ricochets off Leave a ball mark on the edge of the hole deep enough to hit the plastic inside and shoot off the front into the bunker. I had to rebuild the lip of the hole the ball mark was so deep.. Needless to say I drank alot after that one.. LOL Jim- now he has had 2, as any good friend will do he does not let e forget it either.. what an A-hole..5 points

A redneck had caught two lobsters and was walking home along the coast when a cop drove by and saw him. The cop pulled over and stopped the man. “Sir, are you aware it’s not lobster season, and it’s illegal to fish lobsters?” “Dang son,” the redneck said. “I didn’t fish ’em. Them lobsters are my pets.” “Sir, no one keeps lobsters as pets. I’ll have to issue a fine unless you can prove your claim.” “Well, I’ve had ’em since they was babes. Trained ’em myself. I can let ’em go play, and when I call ’em they comes right back to me.” The cop, disbelieving the man, allowed him to demonstrate. The redneck put the lobsters on the sand and said “Go ‘n play, guys." The lobsters immediately turned and crawled down into the water. Amazed, the cop blinked in amazement. “That’s incredible! I’ve never seen anything like it! Now call them back.” The redneck turned with a sly smile and said, “Call what back?”4 points -

Bryson and Reed aren’t just nobodies. They may not be liked by a segment of the population but Bryson did bring attention to the single length irons and from what I’ve read helped cobra in iron sales that were already mediocre at best. For Reed those who hate him changed that mindset even if for a little bit during the Ryder Cup. DJ, Bryson and Reed jumping ship will have an impact on others joining. If they get Rickie it’s another name. Yes he’s struggling but you take away the stress of trying to make a cut, less holes to play and less tournaments he can easily sneak up on the leaderboard and win some events, but he will bring more eyes. He is carrying Puma golf and his approach to the game and how he acts created a big Rickie fan base.4 points -

I see it differently. Each player has a contract with the PGA Tour. Several players have either resigned their membership, or have breached the contract. The Tour is simply enforcing the contract terms. The players shouldn't expect to enjoy the privileges of membership in the PGA Tour if they choose not to follow the Rules of the PGA Tour, the rules they agreed to in their contract. If the Tour doesn't enforce the contracts right now, they may lose the ability to enforce them later.4 points

What equipment are you thinking about?
MDGolfHacker and 2 others reacted to chisag for a topic
... Hard to beat the pricing on PXG Gen 3's. You may find a player or 2 that went from steel to graphite and switched back but there are many more that wonder why it took them so long to switch. Playing 4 to 5 times a week my body could not handle steel even if I wanted to play them. So many great graphite iron options and considering the best ball strikers in the world on the LPGA play graphite more often than steel ought to assuage your trepidation. I don't think Jin Young Ko's record of 63 greens in a row will ever be equaled and she did it using Steelfiber shafts.3 points -

Watched James Wiltshire's latest video from LIV and a few things stuck out to me: #1 There's a lot of interest in seeing these guys play regardless of the funding. #2 The potential for viewership and reach far exceeds that of the PGA Tour due to the welcoming of personalities such as James posting content to their own channels. Obviously, if you follow James at all you know he was invited and granted special access by LIV, but allowing him to create his own content rather than having him as a "guest" on their programming is different and something I quite enjoy. #3 This course does not look easy. I don't actually know anything about it, but based on what I've seen from the LIV feed and JW's channel there are some remarkably tough tee shots with trouble on both sides, native grass areas that IMO are much more penal than the even cut rough at the RBC and the wind has been blowing quite a bit from my understanding. I think I am more surprised by Schwartzel playing at -9 than I am by the number of players who are over par. #4 (Watching the LIV feed) We get to see a LOT of golf from golfers I've never heard of, can't pronounce half their names, and that's kinda cool. I'd hate to watch featured group type coverage of a bunch of golfers I don't know, but getting to see snippets of them is great IMO. #5 (Related to #4) I like the updated scoring on the left of the screen, but I find it difficult to understand who's who sometimes based on how they shortened the names. I'd love to seem them play around with this a bit more. I'm not saying I am pro-LIV, but I'm certainly not against some of the things they are trying. Would love to see some of these attempted on the PGA Tour.3 points -
I was told I can't post in this thread, but I thought maybe this could give hope and incentive for you guys to "git 'er done". Do you remember a few weeks ago in the Random Thread, I posted that a concrete bench was stolen from the par 3 17th tee that commemorated the Ace by one of our members (a former pro) who was 91 years old. (The bench was recovered, repaired and replaced). Yesterday at 92 years old, he got another Ace on the par 3 #4 hole.3 points

Tour lays the hammer: Indefinite Suspension for all players who participate in LIV
MGoBlue100 and 2 others reacted to fixyurdivot for a topic
That's a weak argument since the PGA has allowed players to participate in non-PGA events for quite some time now. Further, I don't see how choosing not to exercise the nuclear option now precludes them from doing so later. I mean the PGA really has no idea how much traction LIV will get and, by most accounts, will likely become background noise sooner than later. Why risk alienating players for such low odds of competition - particularly if their so confident in their business model? I think the action is more a reflection of Jay's dislike for Norman and the Saudi involvement. So why then when an Asian or Euro Tour player moves into the PGA they don't fine or suspend them? Do you think the PGA should have exclusive rights to monopolize professional tour golf? Substitute Tiger Woods for Greg Norman and Iceland for Saudi Arabia... would that change your position?3 points -

... Sure, under certain terms but most people draw a line in the sand someplace. It is one thing to work for a Candy company that sells high fructose corn syrup products for kids but quite another to change jobs for a marketing position with a Tobacco/Vape company selling to kids for "a lot more money". CEO to Employee ratio was 20 times back when companies cared about their employees ... not stock options, insane bonuses and a salary 370 times what their employees make or closing plants and putting thousands out of work to Maximize Profits for the CEO, Board and Shareholders. When it becomes about just the money, good things rarely follow. But this is probably one of those threads where we are listening the sound of our own voice and nobody is changing or even altering their opinions because of anything they read here.3 points

Regardless of anyones side on this tour and how it impacts the future of golf both PGA and otherwise there is no doubt it has done a great job of stiring the pot to get lots of people talking about the game.
