They were so good! The Nike One balls were great too.

The one real summer I played any golf as a kid, I found a Nike One, and that was the first ball  I kept for a number of holes.  I was distraught when I lost it 😆.  I couldn't tell a difference between a Top Flight and a tour ball then, but it sure was special having a Nike One. Wish they would have kept up the One brand/model(s).

I gamed the 20XI for a while, but I’m not sure I was the most discerning golfer back then so that’s hardly a good testimonial for Nike balls…

People hated them for being clicky but I thought that was a good ball too.  Crazy amounts of spin.

I haven't hit one, nor know anyone that has but I would speculate they are similar to the Titleist Velocity.  I've watched recent World Long Drive events, the e9 being the ball that is used and the orange there is more in line with what you would expect.  The Bridgestone website looks to be way off on accurate color representation.

I think this is a little better representation of the real color.

I just received an email from Bridgestone promoting this ball and the three new colors they've introduced - orange, yellow and pink. The Orange looks horrific, it's more like brown, but I wouldn't buy this color anyway. Has anyone tried these at $29.99/dozen? I was hoping for a 3-piece ball at this price, but it's just a 2-piece. Does the ball fly straighter? Is it soft for low spin off driver?

  4. Pieced a couple of 9's together for the score.  MD is my mom, it's been a blessing to get to enjoy a Sunday afternoon with her in the summers. But she doesn't always keep score. Played Spring Lake Country Club in my hometown. White tees put me at a course handicap of 19 (per ghin) and shot a combined 91.  4 pars on the front with 2 pars and a bird on the back.

    Match Play Participants

This is the latest accounting of matches recorded.

@Golf2Much has done an incredible job trying to track down all the scores as they are posted... but with 64 players... we may have missed a few.  Please take a look below and if your name is yellow and have a score posted... point us to it.  Also, remember, the easiest way to ensure we see your score is to post in the weekly VCT and select the custom field for the match play score.

    Thanks Everyone!!

    I'll have mine complete 👍

While sipping his tequila, he noticed a sizzling, scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table. Not only did it look good, the smell was wonderful..

He asked the waiter, 'What is that you just served?'

The waiter replied, 'Ah senor, you have excellent taste! Those are called Cojones de Toro, bull's testicles from the bull fight this morning. A delicacy!'

The cowboy said, 'What the heck, bring me an order.'

The waiter replied, 'I am so sorry senor. There is only one serving per day because there is only one bull fight each morning. If you come early and place your order, we will be sure to save you this delicacy.'

The next morning, the cowboy returned, placed his order, and that evening was served the one and only special delicacy of the day.. After a few bites, inspecting his platter, he called to the waiter and said, 'These are delicious, but they are much, much smaller than the ones I saw you serve yesterday.'

The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, 'Si, Senor. Sometimes the bull wins.

My dad worked in Mexico a bit when I was a kid and I remember him howling after telling this joke after coming home from a work trip.  Has been a while since I've heard it, but it's still a good one!

Firstly, any testing should be carried out with a golf machine like the 'Iron Byron' to ensure accuracy and legitimacy of sampling data.

Which golf balls I would like to see tested primarily depends on how many different makes are to be tested. That said, it should include premium balls manufactured by Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, etc. Notwithstanding that, a fair selection of the cheaper balls like Kirkland, Vice, etc.

I would also like to see a range of balls at different compressions and swing speeds in order to evaluate which balls perform best for different golfers. Ideally testing should be carried out in a controlled environment as opposed to outdoors where the elements can have a significant impact on performance.

Finally, data such as dispersion should be included as well as distance and spin rates. Quite simple really - Lol.

All of the bold part of your post is the ball test.  The most basic of metrics: launch, spin, ball speed won't make a statistical difference indoor vs outdoor as those metrics are measured within the first few feet of ball flight.  You do however, want outdoor testing to occur for accurate measurements for peak height, distance at which peak height occurs, and to have accurate/real world overall distance numbers.  Dimples on a golf ball matter and you cannot accurately test a ball's aerodynamics by hitting indoor into a screen with current launch monitor technology.

I agree with your comment on dispersion, as I would like to see it as well.

... Easy! Swing within yourself. 240 in the fairway is better than 260 in the W's (woods, water). Take more club and hit more greens. Embrace the mental adjustment that you will make every putt you face. You're welcome. 😇

It's funny, I started taking more club and playing middle back of greens a couple of years ago because of one of your posts which was a great change.  To endorse the putting side, Ihad one of the best putting days I've ever had last week in a scramble because our anchor was a stud and I didn't have to worry about keeping it too close.  So I was more aggressive, putting to hole it verses putting defensively and subsequently made more putts than I can remember because of that.

Strangely, my most accurate driving periods are when I am right in the middle/end of a Superspeed protocol.

Had to even out the reactions to continue the 2-1-2 pattern.
