Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy We just use our hat to scatter them. Part of why we were 'infested ' with them is we were cart path only (again) and we have very tall rough on our Links course. The good thing: they don't bite and live only 24-48 hours. The bad is when you sit on them or sit back in the cart seat they'll stain your clothes. Best way to get them off the cart when I get home is a leaf blower. As I mentioned in a previous post they are a sign of a clean lake (they hatch in the water). Jmikecpa
Hey it's tough when you know you have game and something like the elbow pain kicks in and it all goes down the tube. I feel for you as my left hip has taken away some of my joy from golf. When you don't feel like you can give it your all, your confidence takes a hit and that's a huge part of playing well. Physical ailments can take anybody's game down the toilet. Hang in there partner and it will come back. Taking a break will not be a bad thing since the elbow made need rest without golf. I always said that when the pain became too much I would go for the surgery I need so I can play golf. Now I think I am at the point that I may just not play golf much moving forward. Can't afford two weeks off of work to have the procedure done nor can I afford the time off for rehab. Officially putting the sticks in time out for a while, maybe forever who knows. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy My tendency is to pull the club to the inside on the takeaway which results in an open club face and a sideways shot. This helps me: When rotating, immediately hinge your trail wrist on your backswing which closes the club face. On a short chip/pitch shot, you don't have time to get the club back to square like on a full swing, so start with a closed club face! Works for me! fozcycle and Shankster 2 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

On a short chip/pitch shot, you don't have time to get the club back to square like on a full swing, so start with a closed club face! Works for me! Got it figured out today. But sacrificed iron play. I played at about 40% of my potential today. Started with a snap hook 5 iron on the first tee, out of position right off the get go. Then a over cooked fade off the second tee, nice recovery, green in reg. Third hole is a 52° par 3, I rarely ever get anything worse than par. Fourth hole, 3 wood double cross fade that got a members bounce, stuck the 56° to 12'. 5th hole 190 yard 6 iron par 3, stuck it to 8'. 6th hole over cooked the fade again but just off the fairway. Green in reg par. 7th hole, tee shot landed in the middle of the fairway and bounded OOB left. Penalty shot I ended up behind a tree. Triple. 8th hole put a 3 wood exactly where I wanted. During my transition on the downswing a loud crack of thunder made me almost mess myself, and duffed the 52°, then stuck the 60 to 5' par. 9th, slice heaven. Landed on the left side of the fairway and rolled oob right! Didn't get to finish it started pouring. Kenny B, cnosil and fozcycle

MaxEntropy
A longer post will be coming in the home improvement thread, but we are having our main bathroom gutted and remodeled. The amount of short-cuts taken years ago is staggering, and each new one we find keeps adding to the bill. Ugh. Who would have thought a bathroom reno would lead to downspout/drainage work? Not me, but it did. Fortunately we are healthy enough to put in a lot of sweat equity, but it is seriously hampering my weekends on the course, including missing out on another round with @MattF.
