... Restrictions in Illinois include:

Twosomes only

15 minutes between tee times

No carts, walking only. You can bring your own push cart, but not your own riding cart.

It’s a start!

... Yup! It might be hard to get a tee time with only 2somes and 15 minute tee time intervals. But maybe no carts will keep some at home. Rick, we also have an exception for those with a DR's verified disability that have to use carts.

That’s great they have the “Cripple Sticker”, that’s what we call it in FL, I have one for my knees.
They don’t hand out those exemptions lightly.

sometimes I wish they would just do 15 minute tee times anyway! would probably clear up a lot of the weekend congestion on the course.

The courses probably wouldn't like that though since they'll make about half of what they do.

Or the players wouldn't like it, if the courses needed to charge an appropriately increased amount to play.

As long as slow play issues don't cause people to play elsewhere, this is 100% correct.  When demand for tee times is high, and supply is limited, people will put up with a lot.  Obviously this is clearly outside of the topic, so I'll stop commenting, but until our clubs arrive, an occasional comment keeps the topic on the front page of Recent Posts.

... I am guessing it is different in different locations. We have plenty of Muni's in the Chicago area that barely get by or even operate at a loss. 15 minute tee times and 2somes only means probably all of them will be operating at a loss, at least until things get back to somewhat normal. So revenue is a huge factor if they want to stay alive. Not so much a problem for me because I play almost exclusively at twilite and after the initial spring rush, I can usually just walk on without a tee time. Maybe the first couple of twilite tee times are taken but always plenty of time to finish before dark. If I was a morning golfer I imagine might find a different scenario.

And this is why I’ve been a late afternoon/evening golfer most of my life. For me there’s nothing better than coming up 18 in the setting sun and then going and having a drink and a cigar while watching it finally set.

While not at the same time I was fit for every club in my bag as well as the Pro VI ball. I use the chrome soft x ls on my league course.  It has much softer softer greens than the club that I belong to.

I’m on a mission to shoot my age - lifetime lowest round is 66 and I’m currently 67.

I really enjoyed being the only person in the course last year during the CCC3. There's almost something spiritual about being out in nature, listening to the birds settling in for the night and playing this game we love 😁😎

The joys of a private club. I can get off work tee off around 5 play 18 holes and eat dinner with the fam around 7.

Is there reason to start thinking about these clubs again?  As I read it, California is beginning to relax restrictions, moving into what they term Stage 2.  Some non-essential business (including sporting goods stores) are going to be allowed to open, with significant precautions.  Manufacturing facilities that supply these stores are going to be allowed to open as well, once again with significant precautions.  Does this mean that the Titleist club-assembly plant in Carlsbad may begin operating soon?

I think my attitude is consistent with the other three guys, I'm patient because I know that there's nothing that anyone at MGS, or anyone at Titleist, can really do to speed up the process.  We've been getting updates pretty regularly with honest assessments of the likely schedule, its not like we've been kept in the dark, or that promises have been made and not kept.   Yeah, I would love to have the clubs right now, but nobody should take additional risks of significant illness or death just to build golf clubs for me.  We'll get started when we can, but hearing of the progress in CA gives me a little glimmer of optimism.

I have to echo Dave’s comments here. While I would love to have these clubs in hand already, there is no way I could want or expect anybody to put themselves in harms way just to get me some clubs.

Yep you are both totally right, people's safety and health comes first. Golf is a a wonderful hobby but is not important (can't believe I just said that). I'm just lucky that my country, NZ, is about to open again. I forget that a lot of places are still in the grip of this.

I have not heard if they are opening this week but you are correct that CA is opening more of the state. From what I understand the counties still have some say in what opens and what doesn't.

It is what it is. I haven't spent a lot of time dwelling on it because it is out my control. Plus the longer we wait the better chance my course gets back to a normal schedule (currently closing @ 5), which will give me more opportunity to be on the course.

Well folks my FedEx account just received notification of a shipment coming from Titleist! This will be the first memorial weekend that I am not on call! If the rain holds off it may be the best weekend in a long while for me! I may just take Friday off so I can hit them when the arrive.

I just got a similar notice, my shipment is scheduled to arrive some time before 8 PM tomorrow.  A signature is required, so either my wife or I will be home all day.

I ended up taking the day off so i will probably be impatiently waiting by the door! After the get here if it isn’t raining it will be unboxing, photos, jotting down some first impressions and quick thoughts then straight to the course. Should be a great start to the holiday weekend!

My package is still in Indianapolis, there's no telling when it will come in.  No matter what, I'll have them for my Saturday morning 736 tee time.
