Popular Post Byrnzee
Good morning Spies! Had a very relaxing Sunday watching golf on the couch for most of the day. Congrats to Nelly on five in a row and Scottie for continuing his dominance on the PGA Tour! We're witnessing a very special moment in golf history and I'm not taking it for granted. Scottie just needs to continue this for the next decade and he'll catch Tiger Weather looking pretty nice to start the week in Chicago. Hoping to sneak off to the driving range after work today to hit some balls. My irons weren't great over the weekend when I played, so looking for some more consistent ball striking that I can bottle up for the next round. PGA Superstore is doing a deal right now where if you buy 8 grips or more, you get the regripping service for free (normally $3.99 a club). My irons are in desperate need of regripping so I might take advantage of that this week. Should be a relatively chill work week. Coffee has been consumed and I'm ready to take on the day. I moved the projector to 6’ 11” to 7’ 1” from the screen as per the manufacturer’s website and validated by Carl’s and Projector Central’s own throw calculators…and I can’t cover my 96” tall x 108” wide screen. Projector is mounted just below the lip of the enclosure ( to not clip the image) and I’ve got a 24” band at the bottom I simply can’t fill, no matter how I orient the projector or play with the various settings...I’ve played with digital zoom, digital correction…nada. Anyone else happen to be using an Optoma GT2100HDR projector that could share some insights please? Any/all help greatly appreciated! Usually when you have a pretty much square screen you can set your aspect ratio to 4:1 instead of wide screen. Then move the projector until the screen image is full from top to bottom. Don't worry about the sides yet. Once this is good right click on your computer screen to get to the computers display card (typically Nvida) then get to the custom settings. I play a 47* (adjusted to 48* loft), 53* and 57* (adjusted to 58*), with some lead tape high in the cavities of the 53* and 58* for an even higher COG in those two wedges. With golf as a passion, I consider my Ranger job my dream job. Aside from not having the ability to own a golf course, this job is great! The first thing my friends think about is free golf and certainly, that is a great benefit, believe it or not, not the primary reason for doing the job. I love the job and looking for a "job" not a career, to transition to. This "job" is providing me a pathway/segue to retirement from my career job. It's not an easy decision to "retire", as you may know. You stated a couple of frustrating issues with the current workforce in the automotive industry. Well, it's the same frustrations in the insurance industry, making my departure easier to handle. I'll say this, there are some challenges & more often rewards in being a golf course Ranger. Meeting people & interacting with the Members has been fun. It's amazing what you learn being on that side of the golfing industry vs just playing golf as a consumer. What's also interesting is learning the golf course business from working as a Ranger or in the cart barn & interacting & watching how the maintenance of a golf course is conducted. Rick, if you enjoy golf & like being outside, I'd recommend trying out being a Ranger. Good Luck with whatever decision you make and Congratulations on your upcoming Retirement! All the Best!
