Signs everywhere, including on the buses and light rail, and there was a welcome desk for draft fans at my hotel last night. But not in the lobby; this is the only hotel I've ever seen where the lobby is on the third floor. Made it easier to check out though since my room was also on the third floor. @CSiders12 my condolences. That's gotta be rough. I shared this in the golf architecture thread I started, but I wanted to share it here too. A hole I have designed on some local property I drive by everyday. Love dreaming up new golf holes and I have more drawing I am finishing up. The land can hold a nice little 9 hole course. Have a great day everyone! I have designed more pseudo courses than I can count, but never on a real plot of land. Guessing that's a par 4. You might do something with the green so that if you drive right but stay out of the bunkers, you get an advantage on the second shot into the green. Could be rotating the green a touch, or putting in a bunker that you'd have to carry if you drive down the left side. sirchunksalot, Steve F, William P and 8 others 11 Quote Obsessed with chasing the dimpled orb. Shot +4 on the front with some silly mistakes that cost some strokes. However, I bounced back and fired a -1 on the back for a final score of 75. Really happy with that score and how I played on the back. Hoping that's a sign for upcoming rounds. The weather is supposed to be really nice over the next week, so I'm hoping to get out and play a few more rounds. Won't complain about that! I hope we all have a wonderful Wednesday! Didn't have much time or energy for sightseeing, but as a former architecture major I found some of the downtown buildings quite interesting as I drove to and from the hotel (including my hotel itself, which was built a century ago as the home for the first radio station licensed anywhere in the US*). Along with somewhat of a skyscraper visible from M10 heading north out of downtown, which I have been unable to determine what it is. I had hoped the Tigers would be home, but no such luck, and the Wings and Pistons both missed the playoffs. Also considered a run through the tunnel or over the bridge to Windsor, but probably would have had to do that Sunday. * -- There is some dispute of that title. Other claimants include KDKA in Pittsburgh and KCBS in San Francisco. It appears KCBS actually started first, as a project of an amateur broadcaster before World War I, but the government banned private ownership of radios or transmitters during the war, so there was a hiatus for a while. The Detroit station, which still exists, is WWJ. Edited April 24 by ILMgolfnut ejgaudette, tdroma98, Josh Parker and 11 others 13 1 Quote Obsessed with chasing the dimpled orb. Popular Post Steve F
Good morning MGS Nation! A nice hot mug of Earl Grey with just a touch of honey pushing back the morning blahs. Kind of a dreary looking morning right now, but it's expected to get warmer and clear up to be a beautiful afternoon: mid to upper 60's, light breeze and sunny. Great afternoon to get out at play 9 for league play! Got to speak to L.A.B. Golf last night: the alignment design we had will have to be modified a little bit which is ZERO issue for me. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with thus far. I've sent in my final build request, can't WAIT to get this into the bag and start working with it! Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spies, Overcast day in CNY. Rain is in the offing. My wonky arthritic ankle can feel the effects of the last 2 days. I walked 9 Monday and Tuesday. Had running workouts Monday and Tuesday and mowed my lawn which according to my Apple Watch was a 2.6 mile walk. So maybe a weather break is a good thing. I have my putter configuration into L.A.B. Golf for the test and they confirmed they will get the build going. It’s an orange DF3, BGT Stability ONE shaft and a pistol grip. I am a lifelong SF Giants fan so orange it was. Ghost Golf has my forum logo bag in production so the next few weeks should be fun. Sorry read about everyone’s issues needing repairs @sirchunksalot @Northern Monkey and @Tom the Golf Nut @GolfSpy_APH is bringing the heat with tease. With all the testing opportunities that have been made available it seems like every week is leading up to Christmas. The growth of the forum is truly remarkable. On the left side the back slope propels you toward that bunker and there is a strong false front. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning Spies, and happy WedNesDay!! It's a drizzly and slightly chilly morning here. It should be gone within the hour though. Strangely enough, this Saturday/Sunday are looking great for golf with rain bookending the weekend. Usually it's the other way around, but I'm not complaining. I'm reworking my Maltby TS1-IM / Recoil Prototype 125 iron set to look at soft-stepping them. I've heard these can be a bit more tip-stiff than the regular Recoils, and after my Mizuno Shaft Optimizer outcome last week with the KBS Tour Stiff Soft-Stepped being my #1 recommendation, it got me thinking about this. So I'm working up some numbers to see what swing weights would be and all that for when I get the last 2 heads in next month (hopefully). Numbers are actually a lot more consistent than without SS'ing them. I still need to add some weight to the tip end, but not as much and not to all of them. Popular Post tdc1
A damp and cool 36° morning. May have to opt for bowling instead of golf. I have developed a fairly wicked pull on my first tee shot of the round regardless of whether or not I’ve hit some balls on the range. First shot on the front 9 is usually 6 or 7 iron. According to Shot Scope yesterday’s 6 iron was 210 yds (very funny, SS, but I ain’t buying it — you had me on the wrong tee box). Need to find a way to get over that. On the upside, the pulled driver seems to have calmed down a bit — a few more yards and more FIR. Will be interesting to see if the Terra Forza shaft test has much impact. Our closest course is bike-able and I have thought about biking there but need the club contraption like that. **looks into metal shop** I may have to make something and try that. cksurfdude, tdc1, MattWillGolf and 7 others 10 Quote Paradym driver Paradym X 3HL Paradym 7w Maltby KE4 Tour TC 5 Hybrid Paradym irons 6-AW Jaws Raw 54*, 58* Versa 3T

Popular Post Byrnzee
Good morning Spies! A cooler day in Chicago as Mother Nature has decided we're not allowed three nice days in a row. Luckily no plans on the agenda today so will be staying inside bundled up for the foreseeable future. Went to the sim last night with a friend, which has become almost a weekly tradition. It's nice to play 9 holes and get some practice in during the week. I didn't hit it as well as I had expected, but still had fun nonetheless. Didn't get the clubs regripped as I had planned because they couldn't promise them back to me before this weekend. Will likely take them next week instead. Weather for this Saturday's golf round looking like warm with a chance of rain. I would like to hear other opinions on this, but would you rather golf in warm temperatures (high 70s) with a chance of rain, or cold temperatures (40s-50s) with no chance of rain? I think I'm choosing warm every time unless it's a downpour. Hoping I get lucky this weekend and we get warm with no rain (the best combo)! @CSiders12 terribly sorry for your loss. Sending positive thoughts to you and your family during this difficult time. Watched the Myrtle Beach Qualifier yesterday on YouTube. Very cool to see some content creators and pros compete for a spot in a PGA tournament. I won't spoil it for anyone who wants to watch it, but some of the content creators gave the pros a run for their money! Hope everyone has a great hump day!
