The Good Morning Thread

Well, it's Friday. I'm looking forward to the weekend because one of the clients has been an absolute nightmare this week. They don't seem to like the fact that my company won't make our service guys put on chemical resistant suits and work on equipment while the plant's sanitation crew sprays chemicals and caustic all over the room. I would love for OSHA to make a surprise visit to that plant and see the things I see on a daily basis. Between that and just a general disagreement on the expectations of the equipment and how the process is supposed to run, it's frustrating to have the same conversations with their management over and over. 

As far as my FIL goes. He got an appointment with the oncologist for a biopsy to be done on the 22nd, Waiting almost two weeks is going to be rough, but at least he was able to finally get the appropriate test done. They did mention that the main lump on his lung is pushing against his 7th rib, and has grown from the size of a quarter to the size of a pill bottle lid in about a month, which doesn't sound particularly promising to me. I won't pretend to know enough of the details to understand the overall extent of the situation, but it's definitely forced some changes around the daily lives so far. My wife is taking it pretty hard considering we are still waiting on even a proper diagnosis, but she is the type to immediately think of worst case scenario.

That looks awful!  Better get that cleared out before we roll through there in June.

Good Morning everyone!!  Been to cardiac rehab, then had my two cups of coffee to recuperate.  It’s a beautiful sunny, light breeze day with high expected to be 87º.  Perfect golf weather, but Friday is THE busiest golf day at our course; not going to deal with it.  No Mother’s Day celebration here anymore; both of our parents have passed and my wife is not a mom, so we are playing Saturday and Sunday.  

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend with family, friend, and golf partners!

I get where ur wife is coming from.. As most of the spies already know, my wife was diagnosed May 2022 with stage 3 breast cancer.. The days before the diagnosis were really hard on me and my daughter bc we didn't know how to help.. After the diagnosis it did get somewhat easier bc we knew the plan and what to do.. Never easy to watch a loved one go thru that but just remind her, it's in God's hands.. Just over a year in remission now btw!

Well I don't know if I will get to play today. It has been the wettest start to winter I can remember I'm 52. Over the last 3 weeks we have had nearly 300mm of rain. We are so wet and there is more coming. Had another 20mm overnight and more on the way.

I think that's where I'm having trouble especially. I'm an engineer so my brain is just wired to problem solve, but right now, there is no problem for me to solve. I'm waiting on these appointments and tests to tell us what the problem is and what the necessary steps are. Once we know the steps, then we can start executing a plan on how to manage whatever we have to do in terms of scheduling and treatment and whatnot, but until then, it's just the misery of waiting. This is unknown territory for me because I never had to deal with this when my father passed away. I had a bit of an argument with him one afternoon when I was 17 before I went to a friend's house, and got a call that evening that he had a massive heart attack and an ambulance was on the way. He was already gone by the time he arrived at the hospital, so there was no diagnosis to wait on like this.

You have my sympathies... my wife was recently diagnosed and has to wait for her appointment on the 20th - and that was after a favor from her doc. The time between discovery and diagnosis to treatment/more detail is agonizing... no matter how hard it is we're doing our best to stay positive; I wish you and your family nothing but the best and hopefully the time goes by quickly between now and the 22nd.

I'm the same way for my family and friends.. The guy who steps up to provide a solution for any problem or crisis that happens.. Hard to sit back and wait.. There is still plenty of thought process after the diagnosis of who can get him to appointments, fundraising for crazy expenses, being with him after treatments, etc.. Don't know what ur situation is, but expenses with good insurance came to over $25k for us.. We were blessed with good jobs and a savings but our small community also came together and sold shirts and lunch plates that helped out.. It's a team effort

I didn't get a chance to go practice today, I was stuck in traffic for over an hour and when I got home the wife and sister-in-law were out weeding one of the flower beds. I decided it would only be proper and safe to get out in the yard and mow. I didn't want the "she"riff putting me in golf prison. 

There's still more to do, we have other flower beds that need tending and I need to do the trimming. I have to put new string in it and I wasn't feeling it this evening. 

@GolfSpy_KFTI hope the acupuncture works for your shoulder and it's nothing major. 

@RichL85 in sorry to hear about your FIL, he'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

Good morning MGSpies from a colder than I want it to be for a driveway mechanic job replacing wheel bearings on this Saturday in WNY - rain expected by lunchtime so poncho (which everyone knows is Spanish for "you're going to get wet") as the job is now necessary and miles are needed to be driven.  Graduation was an awesome whole day yesterday.  Onward!  Hope golf is a part of your day  and part of mine will be a catch-up read on this thread!

Well it’s Saturday morning and I’ve returned to the north for the summer , it has rained almost nonstop since our return , temps have dropped into the 50’s & 60’s ( 97° in Florida before we left ) but it’ll be good to see family especially Mom for Mother’s Day! Please cherish family moments this weekend , bittersweet because buried Dad 11 years ago this weekend . Be blessed , kind and grateful !

Lots of family activities this weekend so golf will be limited.  Going to hit the range up this morning and then a few things around the house. Finally getting our aquaponics system over to the house and will be setting it up tomorrow for mothers day. Only request that was made, so I figure it's the least I can do since she doesn't mess with my golf habits.

Good morning spies.

I woke up a little early to try and give the wife a little extra sleep today. After all it is her weekend. Coffee is brewing it took a little longer to make but to be expected when a 1.5 yr old wants to help..

I am hoping the sun dries out the yard today so I can get that done with all the rain we have been having and then looking to do some more trim work in my upstairs. Setting a lofty goal to get that done before July so it doesn’t eat up too much of my golf season!

Good morning all and happy Saturday!

We are at the lake this weekend and the crappie bite is on. Pulled in over 20 in about an hour and a half and my oldest caught a really nice bass as well. Will be going back out and hitting some new spots today, should be a blast!
