70 scores posted this week, and the first few days of the VCT Match Play event are also included in this week's scores. Overall a great week of scoring (as usual) and participation. 

 

Low Net Score

   

   

This week, we have a VCT first I believe.... A FIVE WAY TIE for 1st place.  Rather than work through an arbitrary tie breaker... and in keeping with the intent of the VCT.... We will have FOUR badges awarded this week - all with scores of net -7 (7 under par)!!! (Only 4 out of 5... for reasons that will become clear a bit farther down the post  ) .

• @Turbo-Dad playing at Torrey Pines North (#jealous)
• @RoverRick playing at Sulphur Springs Country Club (#weekin_weekout_solid), and

Honorable mention to @EasyPutter for his -6 and near career round at Elma Meadows.

 

Lowest Gross Score

As I mentioned above... only 4 of the 5 "-7" scores were represented... the 5th belongs here.  d

@Javs posted a GROSS SEVEN UNDER (-7) this week at Sun City GC-Legacy Hills.  WHAT???  yes... -7 GROSS.  (and with his scratch handicap... that is also a net -7, but that is less the story here... ).

Almost equally impressive as @Javs score... check out the list of sub par rounds this week.  These are gross scores mind you!!

Most Net Birdies

This week we had one Member with 11 net birdies... @Lee Stanek carded ELEVEN this week.  Congrats Lee and enjoy your badge for the coming week. 

 

Longest Drive

A series of familiar names at the top of the Longest Drive list... and a very familiar name highlighted in Yellow.

@Bohnson Unloaded with a 370 yard drive this week, to take the top spot for Longest Drive and winning the LD badge for the week. 

In fact 3 of the top 5 drives were recorded by @Bohnson, and honorable mention to @TylorJudd who posted the other two in the top 5... all drives of 338 or longer.  

 

Congratulations to all the winners, and HUGE thank you to all the members participating in the VCT!!!  

 

Thanks for the shout out about week in, week out. Yes, about once a week I’m decent. But that’s 25% of the time. I want to play well day in and day out like the old days. I’m going with a different bag set up this week. I already have missed the last 4 rounds this week with a sore back. I hope I can play this weekend. I think so. Luckily, power is not my strong suit. Keep it in play and effective use of the 58° wedge and putter is my game.

Crap!!! @richk9holes Thanks for the catch. I did it on my phone and it didn't allow me to 'select' up and down when trying to enter the gross and I obviously confused the gross/net fields and and I didn't see that it recorded -7 net. One of the reasons I hate mobile. @GolfSpy TCB can you please fix. Apologies to all.

No problem, it happens   Got it corrected.  Still... 77 at Chambers Bay is a GREAT score... Don't think I ever broke 80 there.

Appreciate the fix, apologies for adding to your burden; you have enough to do without Muldoon like me adding to your work log

I play that course pretty well for some reason, but I could NOT get putting down. I hit 85+% of fairways and left between 6-10 makeable putts ilout there between the 2 days. That can get frustrating. I ended up 3 strokes out of a tie for 1st out of a field of 32 in our division.  Oh well, other than getting rained on Sunday the weather was good and all the players in our pairings meshed well. Fun weekend, though I wish I'd have taken a few more $$ home.

Hoping this is the correct spot to post - I'd like to designate the round from 9/1 as my VCT Match Play round - I don't think I can retroactively do it on my own, so if you'd  ( @GolfSpy TCB or @Golf2Much) be so kind as to designate that one, that would be swell
