Alright, so semifinal round was at a different spot, Emerald Crest just around the corner. Par 68, shot 75. Scorecard below, sorry @Golf2Much for the needed calculations, card got wrecked due to fog and wet, so used 18 birdies for the first time... cool little free app. One problem, wrong handicap with 2 7 handicap holes on the course. The par 5 14th is 6th.

Solid round a good back 9. Can't complain pulling it together and doing a 2 over back 9!

Thanks, the back side is the much easier of the two. A couple sub 300 yards par 4s and the short par 5 that's only a par 5 because of the water that bisected the fairway means I knew I just needed to get to the back to have an opportunity to score, the front was a hold on type of front

Played a fun round with my dad today and while the conditions were wet and soft we avoided the really wet spots.

One real birdie and I opened up with 7 pars on the front, the wedges came in clutch today!

This was a tale of two nines. Couldn’t get a GIR on the front to save my life. Was hitting fairways but bad misses on 8 of 9 led to 8 bogeys. Backside was a different story. Hit 7 of 9 GIR and had three one putts. In all it was a good day none the less.

nice comeback day.  Was 3 over on the front, but 1 under on the back. Was proud that I hung in only hit 5 fairways and 8 greens, but the short game and putter were working   28 putts

Had 2 double bogeys in the 1st 4 holes. Later I 3 putted from 18' to turn a birdie chance to bogey on #9. Finished with 4 straight bogeys missing makeable putts on 2 of them.

I still scored well considering. I played great for a 10 hole stretch from #5-14 (-5 net even with the lapse in concentration on the 3 putt on #9) mixed emotions about this round. The conditions were soggy and the greens were slow and bumpy. Scoring any lower would have been surprising, but with how I struck the ball and scrambled I definitely could have.

Second round this weekend at a local course I have played numerous times. Another picture-perfect day and paired up with another couple today. Had some rain overnight, so a bit soft, and a few puddles too. Weather here appears to be changing later this week to below normal temperatures, but I am hoping to get another round in next weekend here too. Course was jam packed, even after we finished there were still people coming in to get in nine holes.

Shot consistent both front and back, 39 each side with bogies on 3 of the 4 par 3's, more due to taking aim at pins tucked left or right, and then 3 bogies where the ball plugged just short of the green, and the chip shots were not close enough to get the first putt to drop.

Hit 10 of 14 fairways, and 12 of 18 greens.

Some pictures of the course below, the last two are the finishing hole, and 540-yard par 5 that is tree lined most of the way to the green.

Crazy California weather for the round today.  1st 6 holes raining on and off.  Gusty winds and gloomy, through 15.  The sun breaks through on 16 and it was hot by 18.   The round did not start off well good drives/not so good drives, pulled approaches and no less than 6 putts that ran over an edge without falling in.  5 bogies 4 pars on the front.  Longest drive of the day came on 10 with my 3 wood 285….par, roll an eagle chip past the hole on 11 make birdie.  Pars through 15, bogey 16 and par out.  Played the back nine even…

I played like crap.  Pure and simple.  

However, it was a fun day at the beach!  I got in the water, and played in the shiny white sands, which we don't get much of in the PNW.  

 

Too bad this was a tournament match.  Don't think I progressed above my prior standing of 388 of 812.  The likely big mistake was doing a full body workout on Thursday after a six month break, playin disc golf for the first time in two years on Saturday, and expecting that I'd keep a good swing afterwards.  Still had a blast on a wonderful fall day.   Too bad I didn't think to take photos.
