Caffeine and B vitamins, bold flavors, zero sugar and zero calories. Want to stay hydrated even in the winter. Alcohol is not the answer for me. ChiefMikeOfficer
Almost every time I travel internationally, I pick up a Havana Club 7 -- it's phenomenal, and very reasonably priced. It started as just a novelty because of the embargo, used it in cocktails, but never really considered drinking rum straight... But for any rum haters (like I used to be), aged, quality rum is actually really good, nothing like the rum I thought I knew (Dark and Spiced are completely different categories). This time we were in the Caymans, really close to Cuba, and I found some stuff there that I've never seen before, so brought these puppies home. Tonight I'm trying the Eminente 7 Year. It is nothing short of impressive. Definitely a bit sweet, but smooth, and very enjoyable. We've only tried a handful straight. These Cubans are great if you can get your hands on them. Ron de Barrilito 3-star is the rum that made us realize that rum can be good straight, and it was only like $20-25/bottle when we were in Puerto Rico - the bartenders we talked to claimed you can only get it in PR, but I think you can find some floating around the states. Mike Z
Bourbon and Irish Whiskies for me. Been going through locals for a little while now. Valentine Mayor Pingree is pretty tasty and working through a case of Copper Craft Single Barrel now. As a once in a while treat, I go to a local restaurant that has Poli Arzente grappa. This stuff is delicious - and expensive. The bartender at this place said if I like Arzente then I need to try Papas Pilar rum. So I did. Very easy on the wallet and enjoyable to sip - similar tasting notes to Arzente but not a replacement. I'm sure its nowhere near as good as the rums listed in the few preceding posts, but I think its a legit start on the road to rum that is worthwhile drinking without coke now and a headache later. GolfSpy_SHARK
Took a swing at a new rum. Super flavorful and very dark. Has a chocolate smell and taste which is very different for runs that I’ve had. Really smooth but prefer something with more of the normal rum spice. Still very good thiugh Placasse61 1 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review I MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review 2022 Forged Tec's Official Review I Nitron Push Cart Official Review WITB: Weapons of grass destruction (link to WITB) Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green U505 Driving Iron 17* - Project X HZRDUS Black SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2022 King Forged Tec's 4-PW - KBS $ Tape 130 48 (SM8), 52 & 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Are you a veteran? Placasse61
Picked up this Imperial Stout (12.5%) from a small brewery in Providence. Really Dark and good. Chocolate and silky forward molasses malty middle with a clean almond and cherries finish. Tonight, I am having their Basil infused Larger. Our daughter and SIL are in Providence for the day to go to Nova @ Providence men’s basketball game. Their daughters (Granddaughters) go to each school. SIL appreciates good beer. I’ll have him be onlookout for this.
