Northeast Buddy trip suggestions

Hi All,

Thanks for all your help planning my previous trips.  The past few years my group of 10-12 fraternity brothers have travelled to Pinehurst for a multiday get together.  We travel mostly from the northeast (NY, PA, NH, CT, NJ) and wanted somthine a little closer this year.  We loved being able to play at least one high end course along with some other decent ones all relatively close.  We also loved getting a airbnb where we could relax together over a bourob and cigar.

Any suggestions for a region within 5-6 hours of Boston, Philly, NY?  Lake Placid, the Berkshires, Saratoga, Cape Cod ..?.  The Poconos is a little to close because we meet there often and are looking for something different.

My late 60s and early 70s brothers have met in Saratoga for years. But first ask if golf is the main reason, or just the excuse to spend time with your brothers.

I say this because the course at the state park in Saratoga is nothing special, but is verrryyy forgiving for some in your group who don't play much. It works for my group of the variable-skilled. Saratoga National may be available if a "better" course is important. Van Patton in Clifton Park is also reportedly decent.

But when my gang gets together, we could be in a pasture. As long as there is beer, it is the company, much more than the golf, that counts.

@Peter-T there is a good selection of courses in the south eastern part of Connecticut and crossing over into Rhode Island. You also have the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casio’s near by for nightlife. If that’s of interest let me know and I will recommend courses to look at. I lived in that area for 10 years and played about 20 courses in that area.

Plymouth MA  play the pinehills courses and waverly oaks.    we ae headed to Cooperstown NY this year and playing Leatherstocking and visiting the baseball HOF.   Turningstone casino near Syaracuse NY has 3 great courses.  If you go to the Cape take the ferry to Marthas Vineyard and play Farm Neck, Visit Beth Page NY there are 3 nice courses there besides the black course.   Have a great time
