So, I put the Newton shaft into my Callaway AI smoke TD head and I dialed it down to 8 degrees. Oh my this combination worked perfect! I tied my course record of 67 at Legacy today. That was with 3 bogeys. I had 5 chances to make Eagle. I made 8 birdies. I absolutely blasted the driver all day. I was very surprised that putting the shaft in the AI Smoke actually worked even better than the Paradym TD. I was able to work it right and left plus up and down.However, it liked to come off on a medium flight tight draw. Holy poop!!! That’s fire!!! I’m in the Paradym TD at 8* and it’s playing extremely well. I may have to get the AI now. I can demo at my club so maybe.

I thought the torque was high too. It’s not affected my drive though.

Sorry ignore my previous comment. I’m tracking now. Was a little squirrelly and thought we were talking drivers.

He told me to stay with the same dot I have for driver. I can't wait until it shows up.

When I first started this shaft trial I was a hard no. Once we (Newton and I) figured out what I needed I’m absolutely sold on it. I’m hitting my driver very well, almost like I did before my back surgeries.

I measured MY driver shaft, and profiled it as well. However, there is really no accurate torque measurement device, which is why you see such wide variations in shaft torque measurements.

I'm trusting they have figured it out and giving it a go. They have been so good with CS that I'm not too worried about it.

Angelo sent me an email after I asked what mods they need to do when I order mine. He said the team thinks the regular 5 Dot will be fine as is. I’ll order mine after the issues with the spousal unit settle down.

Just hit the wood shaft and I'm just as impressed. I went with the 5 dot tipped for 3w but at 5w length and if it continues to show me what it did today, it's not leaving the bag either.

Interesting! Why did you go with 5wood length? Did you loose anything?

Just a preference.  I put it in my Titleist 16.5* (4w) and even on my Paradym TD, the shaft is cut down 1/2in.  

I don't lose much distance but can control the shot shape more and have found it's easier to get it up in the air when I need to.

I shortened my driver shafts to have a 45” driver and am way more happy with my control. Didn’t lose any distance, I gained because I was more consistent on the face. I did ask Angelo about cutting some off the fairway and that’s when he said what the team wanted me to do. I think I still want about 1/2” cut. But not ordering til the spousal unit gets cut.

What was the ball flight you were seeing? High, low and how was the dispersion?

I was able to control the flight pretty well. It was that penetrating gradual climb flight mostly but could keep it low or go high. 

I was able to work the ball both directions and hit straight.

I was seriously considering trying the driver shaft… But my swing speed is ultra slow and they don’t make anything below a 1 dot, like something a long the lines of a dash (-) shaft.

Some more shaft testing today - I got a "new" 5 dot to trial. I guess they made some subtle changes, not quite yet specified. I think it is a bit lighter which I would welcome. Have a round planned tomorrow on a pretty tight course so need to get a good handle on whether it is best to try that or stick with the AutoFlex... hmm

I really like my 5 dot and now have 2 rounds on the fairway wood shaft 5 dot and love it.

So... I need to pass on a warning for those who decide NOT to keep their demo shaft. First, though, I want to say that I do not believe this is an attempt to cheat anyone or slide anything past unsuspecting people. It's probably just the all-too common result of great idea people starting a company, but either neglecting or failing to recognize the importance of their back-end business systems. But after returning the demo shaft accomplished through their system by their process, my credit card has just been pre-charged, twice, for $250 each for a total of $500. This is not the same charge card pre-auth followed by a reversal of the same amount which was used to verify that the card is still valid during the demo period. This is two $250 charges.

I'm not at all worried that I'll actually have to pay anything, but it may force me to have to dispute the charge to avoid having to front the $500 since my closing date is happening soon - a royal PITA!  Another forum member warned me that this could happen so it's a known problem that they have not yet corrected. They need to fix it. 

Update: It has just been fixed. Glad they got on it right way.

Hate to hear that. Sounds like a simple fix on their end.
