The Good Evening Thread

Good evening gents. Icing down my knee after a grueling loop in 100° heat and humidity. Can tell the heat got to me a little bit as I have zero appetite and I’ve only eaten breakfast. Just need to down some water before going to bed.

Glad they sent you a thank you treat for being Johnny on the spot, @Rob Person. Hope everyone has a relaxing evening.

Happy birthday to SWMBO @rkj427 hope you guys have a great evening.

@Rob Person I don't know why, but for some reason I want donuts now 🤔

@Preeway hope the wind down goes well, just as important as taking care of yourself on the course

Nothing major for me, day one of the next class is underway, but the first day is always a recap of all school policies so it is not a major deal. Also, purchased a couple pairs of FJ Prolites earlier that I'm excited for.

Besides that, have a great evening everybody.

Evening spies! Got in a round between thunderstorms and a near tornado. Didn’t play poorly. Left some birds out there though.

Another 30 putt day. I’m liking the SeeMore putter and the new wedges. Love the 52 the most!!! I’ve several chip ins the last few rounds and almost had two more today. My 8 and 6 irons are freaking fire 🔥 right now!!! I should tee off with the 6 and hit the 8 into the greens. Gonna start that next time. Hope you all had a great day! Wyo out!!!

Evening spies!  Not sure I could ask for a better work Monday.

The guy I helped yesterday... somehow his family found out my name and occupation beyond  "ranger rob" and sent me a nice little surprise to work today, Via the briefing room. (We are required by law to identify/announce who we are in any emergency) the LT even stood up and read the thank you note.

20240624_141428.jpg.fc60f4c07a4d5190c50c59b547fc312c.jpg

He is recovering well under observation only, and is expected to go home in the morning.

Also got a few shipping notifications I'm excited about just a minute ago too!

Hope everyone was able to get thru this Monday well too!

Happy birthday to the Ruler of All !

Always nice to get a thank you from the public. Hope you enjoyed the doughnuts and great job 👍

Just caught up on 92 threads notifications.

It's been a heck of a day. Nothing worth mentioning now,  but I'm exhausted.  Came home to a power outage, a crane truck took out 3 poles and all the power lines too... nearly 4 hours earlier!

Fired up the genny, got the fridge and fans going. House was at 93⁰ power came back 45 minutes ago and hopefully the AC capacitor doesn't burn out trying to cool the house.  Fyi, if you are trying to cool your house down,  and it's over 90⁰ inside, set your thermostat no more than 10⁰ lower than the inside temp. After it reaches that temp,  go to your target temp.

Good evening Spies on what was both a stormy, rainy day, as well as sunny and pleasant evening, for now.

More rain and storms headed our way tomorrow and spent most of the day doing things around the house that needed to be done.

Also posted in the Motocaddy thread how some bags fit onto the trolley, and how I arrange my clubs to eliminate any potential issues of long clubs interfering with the handle area.

Plan to post my final review tomorrow and hoping to get on the course on Thursday.

Hope all is well with @Dead Solid Bogey, but I do seem to recall that he said he had some travel to do for work.

Good evening everyone. Just finished up with some work I’m trying to get ahead on. My wife had a dinner with friends so once I put the baby to sleep I got back to my spreadsheets and analyses. Hoping I can get ahead before the end of the week so I can coast a little before I head out to Chicago for my golf trip.

Not sure if there are any excel nerds in here but I’m currently creating a a direct OBDC link to our Salesforce org where I can then create a revenue waterfall for the last 4 years of data. This will become the core file for all of our FP&A and Rev ops functions moving forward.

Well now that I’ve bored everyone to sleep have a good night everyone!

Good evening spies! So have you ever played with a group who just gives off bad karma? I mean nice folks but just bad golf karma? Bella and I had that happen today. We’re playing by ourselves until hole 5, then we join up with a twosome for the last 5 holes….wow the scores went down hill. Then, luckily they left and bang, started scoring again. It was weird. Nice folks, just bad vibes.

Never played with a group like that before, but have had a group like that end up in front of me that were only playing the back nine. It felt like once I saw them, my energy just left for a trip to a foreign land.

Good evening Spies on what again was a sometimes rainy, but then sunny late afternoon and evening here.

I posted my Motocaddy Final Review earlier today and would hope some here and may provide feedback on it.

Good or bad, doesn't matter, it would be a learning experience, and I am sure there always is room for improvement.

Tonight, we went to dinner with some of our Corvette club people, and some who just showed up.

Sunday, June 30 is the actual "birthday" of the Corvette, as the first models were hand built here in Flint, MI and rolled off the line that day.

Golf in the plans for tomorrow, and actually looking forward to it. It is supposed to be a sunny and cooler day, with high temperatures in the low to mid 70's.

Some pictures from the dinner event parking lot today, restaurant is only a couple miles from the house.

Golf in the plans for tomorrow, and actually looking forward to it. It is supposed to be a sunny and cooler day, with high temperatures in the low to mid 70's.

Some pictures from the dinner event parking lot today, restaurant is only a couple miles from the house.

Great write up. I’ve enjoyed following your review and been interested in how you find the Motocaddy. I love my M7 and couldn’t envisage playing without it now after all this time

Got out today, I’m either shooting a 77 or a 78. Talk about consistency.

Front 9 was weird. Had a lady with us and she started cackling on the 3rd hole right in my backswing. Couldn’t get rid of the wicked witch of the west. (She was a nice lady, but a beginner. I actually helped her improve her swing) It just stuck with me. Back 9 was better. Loving the SeeMore putter. Anyway, shortened a driver to 44.5 and absolutely loved it. I took a ventus velocore 6regular, tipped it an inch and took off the top to 44.5. Works like a champ! Feels like a stiff shaft now. I have to make a decision to shorten every driver shaft to 44.5. Oh choices. But I was hitting the sweet spot constantly on my driver. Didn’t lose any distance at all. More to come on this project…. Looking forward to the Nebraska trip with @Preeway @cksurfdude @BallsLeon and  I hope we can make it an annual event. Maybe next year we can grow it. Game on!!!

As I’m watching the Cardinals game, they’re getting beat pretty decently. Happens after a double header the day prior. I kept hearing a faint sound. I couldn’t put my finger on it and it started to bug me. I finally muted the tv and well, this is what I found. She is snoring. She makes a lot of people snoring sound quiet. IMG_3018.jpeg.01049ce65ba90b32f80cba0adf96629f.jpeg

Good evening Spies on a day that was quite busy for me, but it also included time for a round early this afternoon.

Tale of two 9's due to very slow play on the front ahead of us, but much better on the back due to the slow people only playing 9 holes.

Used the Callaway AI Smoke Triple Diamond driver and I had great results with it both finding fariways, as well as distance comparable to the Titleist driver I also have.

Used the AI Smoke Triple Diamond 3 wood off a couple tees as well, and again great results with the capability to either fade or draw as needed.

Hope that @Preeway, @cksurfdude, @BallsLeon, and @Erin B have a great time in NE for that event. I considered it, but I will be in Wisconsin for a week later in July that also includes golf, so the timing did not work for me this year.

Have an epic trip!

Final Review for the Stix Perform series clubs is up!

Today was not a good day, then it was.

Woke up to no water. After 2 hours of meter testing, line pressure check from the neighbors hose, and chasing water lines unde the house, it ended up being the well controller and capacitor.  Nobody local had a capacitor or control unit in stock which would have cost me about $45,  so I had to eat $140 for whole new box complete setup. Hour after that I had water.

Then I installed my hitch, which required removing the bumper, which attaches to an identical cross member, minus the reciever. That took 3 hours, even with impact tools. Then I jumped on the CC with Vice's James and Alexander, which was great! I was finishing up the wiring while on the call.

Good evening gents. Sorry to hear about your well, @Rob Person. Hope everything gets back to normal quickly. @Erin B, the NE get together is getting closer and going to be a blast. Three links inspired courses where a calm wind day is 15-20mph.

Was able to visit the knee doctor today and they drained 30ccs of fluid out of my knee. For the metric challenged like myself, they 1 oz of fluid. Hoping the pain from the cortisone shot goes away by tomorrow so I can play pain free. Otherwise, it’s been a good day. Hope everyone has a great evening.
