Hoping you have a better round tomorrow @ILMgolfnut, after all you have now had your practice round and hopefully got a full night's sleep.

Got a full night's sleep Friday and had played the course before. Today, it's a course I've never seen. I was just researching it on the RDGC website. Slightly shorter than the main course, smaller greens and tighter fairways.

Good morning Spies! Another competitive challenge. And my first Stableford tournament ever. I won't make any 10s today, I know that. Pick up and move on. Had fun trying to find a place to eat. The clubhouse restaurant at my club stopped serving at 6 pm; I got there at 6:15. Takeout places nearby were cash-only and I couldn't find an ATM that could handle an American card. They kept timing out trying to contact my bank. Finally went in a local co-op grocery store and bought some things for dinner, and there I found a working ATM. So I can go back to the takeout places tonight. It's also laundry night tonight.

Speaking of that ATM, I went my entire 17-day trip there last year without ever seeing a pound note. Everywhere I went took plastic and I never saw any locals pay in cash either. So I've now seen the local currency. I was surprised to find it was issued by the Bank of Scotland. I thought all UK money came from the Bank of England, which I have seen on previous trips to London.

Obsessed with chasing the dimpled orb.

Good luck today! Remember the most important thing, HAVE FUN!

When we traveled over there the only thing we used cash for was for the pay-to-potty. 😆  we loaded a chime card and used the app to select which country we were in. Never had any issues.

@Northern Monkey it's summer here, hurricane/storm season, so we are used to it. Still sucks though!

Good Sunday morning Spies!

Expecting it to be quite humid today with Beryl working toward the coast. Temps in the upper 90's so not to bad. Hope everyone in the path of Beryl is taking the opportunity to get properly prepared for landfall. Hope your extended family is safe down their way @Josh Parker.

Today is going to be dedicated to yardwork as rain chances are better over the next few days.

Hope you have your electricity restored and house cooled @Rob Person.

Everyone have a nice day of rest and relaxation if possible.

Good evening spies!

We spent all day at Dollywood (opened and closed the park)!  We are exhausted!

We scared the little one on a coaster to start the day, but she came around later and started riding some rides.  Went into a show and my older daughter got brought on stage (which she absolutely loved by the way)…selection was based on the loudest kid (not sure where she got those lungs, it was not my wife or I).  Little one was disappointed but was screaming the rest of the show!

Go into another show and the little one got to go on stage!  Older sister helped her get some attention to get picked which was awesome to see.

Watched the fireworks to end the night and now, it is time for bed!

Good evening everyone.  Spent some time in Gatlinburg today just checking out the shops, then my wife decided she wanted to go on a bear hunt.  Drove through part of the Smoky Mountain National Park and found a trail that we are going to walk tomorrow.  Some on the trail said they saw a bear…so my wife is looking forward to it!

Got some barbecue from a local joint, where you could also get fresh produce, ice cream, fireworks and some wood carvings!

Go down to Cades cove! Drive the park. It's long and one way!  The ranger station at the end has the best ice cream! Saw over 2 dozen bears that day we went!

Good evening everyone. Weather was great today, especially for mid July. Only a high of 84 today and mild humidity. Should be a repeat tomorrow when I tee off at 11:00. My son played pretty well today but a few three putts and one penalty cost him a chance for a top 3 finish. He shot a respectable 84 and he was able to walk away acknowledging that shooting an 84 with that many mistakes is a good sign. That was perhaps the best sign all year that he’s turned a corner and ready to start firing consistently in the 70s. Hope everyone has a great evening. Congrats on your first post @cksurfdude!

Good evening Spies on a warm and muggy Michigan, where the high temperatures and humidity levels were both in the high 80's.

Welcome to the "Good Evening" thread Chuck, @cksurfdude and like you I am also recently retired, but unlike @cksurfdude I still struggle with the lack of routine at times.

SWMBO went out with her sisters and brother-in-law on their pontoon boat, I decided to stay home and out of the weather and had some projects around the house to attend too.

Took a walk through our subdivision earlier in the afternoon and saw some "collectable" golf putters for sale at an estate sale. All new in plastic, some Scotty Cameron putters and an original Limited Release Jailbird like Fowler and Clark use.

Asked what they wanted for them, and all could be had for way less than retail, as they have no use for them and just want them to go to someone who will use or appreciate them.

@Preeway congrats. to your son, and I am sure that you are proud of him and the efforts.

Oh it's a very long time in a car there. Took us 4 hours on a not busy day to do the loop. Plenty of opportunities to stop, take pics, etc

Thx! but sorry to hear the last part...

There is a day here and there .. now that there are no doggies to fuss over (I know you have that great Leader Dogs charity) .. that I can have a bit of a lack of direction.... But there's *always* something to take care of outside in the yard, *always* something on the To Do list to take care of inside, and always some exercise and some golf practice to be done!

Plus reading stuff on the forum, catching up on the news, have a few books I'm always trying to get through, do more organizing and decluttering of the s#*! in my office and garage, etc etc....

My only "schedule" is fairly regular chiro and acu appointments each Tues and Weds mornings.

Look around and I'm sure you can quickly fill up a list of all sorts of little projects to attend to!!

Ok spies, not sure what it is about my kids, but wow!

We went to a show tonight, and they brought my little one up on stage!  I can’t believe it, just crazy!

We went to The Comedy Barn, and it is a very family friendly show…just some crazy antics and they really get the audience involved (brought quite a few people on stage).  Very personable, walked around during intermission talking to people.  No foul language at all and kept it moving.  If you are in the Pigeon Forge area, I would recommend checking it out!

Spent the morning changing the oil on my car, always fun. And then took the old girl in for new tires. Was going to try and fit the range in before class but didn't make it as we also needed to run some errands. I will be out on the mats tomorrow though, it's strange not holding a club in my hands since Thursday 🥴

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the night!

Good evening Spies on what was a full schedule Tuesday for me here.

Bought the putters this morning, shipped one out this afternoon, and another is going to another forum member tomorrow.

Think it is cool to let others in on great deals, as the price of equipment seems to have skyrocketed after the pandemic.

Our car club had its monthly dinner cruise this evening, and I took SWMBO out to it along with the other 24 people who attended.

Was kind of a neat thing, as the place was closed for the day, but made arrangements with their staff so we had the place all to ourselves.

@Michael.Sandoval33 better to get the errands or things which need to be done first, that way you can relax and have fun when you get to the range with no worries or distractions.

Rain in the forecast starting tonight through all of Wednesday, with them calling for more than 2 inches total. Remnants of the hurricane, just hope the low-lying areas do not flood.

I am hoping to get to the range on Thursday, and play a round on Friday, as the courses here on the weekends are jammed, raised fees, and extremely slow play.

So cool that you were able to help some members save a few bucks. Hopefully your plans go well to get in that Friday round. I, too, know the pain and hassle of weekend tee time shenanigans.

Good evening gents. Good day for golf but bad day for the scorecard. Had a strong finish on the last 11 holes so hoping I can carry that into tomorrow’s round. Hope everyone has a good night.

My first post to the Good Evening thread.
My wife, son(25) and I went out for taco Tuesday. Was heading home and the wife is like, we need to drop these stuffed animals off at this church.  I’m not feeling to good as my back is nothing me. I ask, which church? She says rolling Rock, I was like oooo, that’s by Dubs bar. Are we stopping for a drink? She says, if you feel up to it we can.  Off to drop off animals we went. Had a few drinks and went home. Now sitting in the back yard with my 3rd glass of wine. This recovering thing is kinda nice as I don’t have to worry about work the next day.
