tony@CIC
We played 9 last night with another couple. Note: worked out in the morning, driving range in the afternoon then pickle=ball before the golf. Started out great but lost steam around #7 so ended up with a 47. Interesting my drives were spot on and getting the distance I've been looking for - perhaps the result of recent workout program? Anyway, the driver continues to be a crowd pleaser in most respects and I have now smashed my previous long drive twice. Hit a 289 yard drive on #3 and a HUGE 297 on #4. The par 3 #8 was the highlight of the day, leaving this for birdie...about 4" short of my first hole in one. ncwoz
Got in another 18 at a local course yesterday, absolutely killer day for golf. Ended up with an 89, 32 putts, 44% GIR, 73% FIR. Back 9 I played hands down my best 9 ever, with a 40. bens197
There is a 9 hole executive five minute from home that I grew up playing. Took dad out for a quick 9 after class and did some short game work. Short irons off the par 4s and missed par 3s on purpose to work on chipping. artful_golfer
I've been out with a sprained wrist since Memorial Day in May. I did it on the last hole of a 3-day tournament with just 2 shots left to finish. It was excruciating and still hurts if I twist my hand or put weight on it. I've been gradually working toward being able to handle a full 18 holes again. I'm finally there - woohoo! I tape my wrist plus wear a little wrap brace for support and then swing away. TR1PTIK
Played yesterday evening at a course I'm familiar with and shot 83. Played this morning at a brand new course in Kansas City and shot 100 . LOL. Played Dub's Dread today and really enjoyed it. Despite snagging 3 birdies today, I only had maybe 2 pars and a lot of "others". I'd begun to forget just how tough it can be to learn a new course that looks so different from what you normally play. I am going to be completely reckless and give you some advice without seeing your chipping stroke. To start with, make sure you have your weight on your front foot and keep it there. Keep the club head in front of you, almost like a straight line on the path you are chipping, and do not rotate the face. Pull with the back of the left hand thru impact keeping the face square. Keep the motion smooth and make no attempt to accelerate and "hit" the chip, just let the length of the stroke dictate distance. ... Like most things in golf it is the feeling of what we are doing that is important. Feeling like you are keeping the shaft/club head in font of you and feeling like you are not rotating the face keeps everything simple. All that said. DO NOT try and force the face to remain square. It will rotate a little naturally. It will also move just a little inside but never behind you. 808nation, cksurfdude, revkev and 3 others 6 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... revkev
... Just be smart about your wrist Kenny. I had a torn labrum several years ago and decided to just play through the pain since there were only a few months left in the season. It turned into a frozen should on top of the torn labrum and set me back a year even with constant rehab. "Play through the pain" was doable when we played high school and college sports but once any number higher than a 1, 2 or 3 starts your age, prudence is the proper course of action. Seeing an Ortho is never a bad idea either. Kenny you should listen to this guy. He may not be a doctor but he played one once and he slept in a Holiday Inn Express. Someone has to say it! Appreciate the advise, gonna try it on Thursday Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Rickp, chisag and cksurfdude 3 Quote WITB: Driver: Sim2 Max w/ Fujikura Motore X F3 shaft FW Wood: F9 wood 14.5* Hybrids: Sim2 Max 3 Hybrid & Vapor Flex 4 hybrid Irons: Z565 - 7 thru PW & ZU85 - 5 thru 6 with Recoil ZT9 F4 shafts Wedges: RTX4 52*, 56*, 60* Putter: Scotty Cameron M2 Newport Ball: Black & Pro V1 Bag: 2018 MyGolfSpy stand Bag & 2021 Greenside Golf stand bag
Popular Post edingc
- 40 (+4) - 6/7 FIR - 3/9 GIR (1 birdie) - 14 Putts (1 3-putt, 3 2-putts, 5 1-putts ) - 1:20 Round Time Normal Tuesday morning round was definitely great! The course got 3/4" of unexpected rain last night, on top of being irrigated, so it was pretty wet and slow. Epic Flash with the HZRDUS Yellow is a beast of a club. Hit all but one fairway, and the one that I missed, I missed long through the dog leg. Won't complain about that one. Birdied No. 1, nearly chipped in from 15 yards on No. 2 for birdie, left my birdie putt on No. 3 six inches short, and had putts on No. 4 and No. 6 lip out. Again, nearly a very low round for me. Had a great look at the green for my third shot on No. 9, and unfortunately, tugged my approach from 75 yards a little long and left behind the green. Hit a poor pitch that stuck on to the fringe before getting a great chip near the pin for a one-putt. Only shot I'm really kicking myself about! I read about half of Golf is Not A Game of Perfect by Dr. Bob Rotella last night and applied much of what I learned to my round. Amazing how mental state affects your game! ncwoz, MattF, golfertrb and 10 others 13 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 3.6 / Anti-Cap: 9.9 (Last Updated Sept. 1, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B.
