Undershooter
Glad I could get it going for us. Hoping it holds up for me moving forward; yesterday was the first round in a long time that I actually hit it well and consistently.I've been playing well lately so I really didn't understand what the hell was going on. jaxbeachpackerfan
First round in eight weeks, to the day, coming back from metatarsal stress fracture. One putting session and one practice session before the round. Played surprisingly well. Shot a 46/42 88 for a two strokes over course handicap round. Two doubles and a triple hurt the score, all resulting from bad drives. Other than those holes, all but one drive was in the fairway. Long irons were great, short irons not so. Continuing a 10 round trend. Got a chance to hit my new Titleist 716 T-MB 2 iron that I had ordered just before the foot went out. Wow! What a club. Hit it on my second shot on the par 5 eighth. From the fairway, good swing, just the purest feel, exploded off the club face, boring flight, great sound, 197 on a humid dead air day. One of the best feels off the club face I have ever felt. For reference, my 4 iron is my 180 club. All in all, a successful day. Next round Friday. jbil8802
@Jmikecpa you must have gotten the good karma going for us bc I did something similar. Great round fo me today after yesterday's $hit show. Showed up just before the tee time and walked right out and played without so much as a warm up. 8 fairways, 16 greens and while I didn't putt well, no 3 putts. Hell both missed GIR were on the fringe. We did have a 30 min rain delay on 11 and I finished the last 3 holes in a solid rain. So I guess I sorta got lucky with the weather not being too bad with lightning. Finished up by rolling in around an 80 footer on 18 for 67! I did have a first today. Hit a 65 yard wedge shot into the par 5 5th and it hit the stick, went in the hole and kicked out to 5 feet. Literally dunked it, it touched the bottom of cup, said "no thanks" and kicked out. I would've been so pissed if I had missed the 5 footer for birdie haha. Hit a shot from 85 yards. Pitched 3 feet from the stick, hit it and bounced off, rolled 20 feet back off the green. Would've been tight if it didn't hit the stick. SuperDave
This is not from one particular round but my friend has hit 2 balls in the cart basket. The 2nd one was only about 20 feet away. The 1st one was at least 30 yards. sp0rtsfan86
Played TPC Scottsdale after it reopened after the summer months... and 24 hours after they got 2 inches of rain inside an hour--nearly a record. The course was cart path only, had the range closed, and on a few holes the drainage areas were brown and dead because of the runoff. That all being said the greens we're hairier than a wolverine. One guy I was paired up with said they hadn't been rolled at all and with that amount of rain I could understand. I shot 91, 46-45, with my main problems coming on par 5's and 3's. On par 5's I hit drives behind trees, another drive I hit well short and overall did not have my 3 wood working off the deck. I didn't land a single par 3 on the green, missing short, short left, over (hit the green with a low ball flight that ran off the back, and left. I did manage an up and down on one, but could not sink a pretty simple 10 footer on the other. My putting was all over the place, but I managed no three putts, so that's a plus. I think it's more of a case of poor iron play dooming my game and couple that with some poor drives, made for a higher score than I'd like. fozcycle 1 Quote Driver: Epic Flash 12 Degree Wood: GBB 3 Wood Hybrid: Razr 4 hybriid stiff stock shaft. mbrodeur86
Well I did something today and I am truly disgusted with myself. I played horribly and on 12 - I quit. I've never quit anything my whole life but today I did. The a-hole that put down my father won and on top of that - his wife won the women division. I don't understand how people like this can constantly keep winning and as a human beings they don't deserve to. Whatever happened to good things happen to good people? Obviously I quit so I can't win by doing that. I was in the final group with the reigning club champion and the eventual winner who won senior last year. Kenny B
Played both Sat and Sun with my wife. She did rock-paper-scissors on Sat with the starter and lost. The bet? She usually plays the forward tees, but since she lost, she had to play from the White Tees. She shot 87. Nothing special from me as I shot 81; couldn't make a putt. Today my wife played from the Red Tees and shot 87. Maybe I should move her back to the Blue Tees with me. I had a mother mediocre day with an 82, but we had a 15-25 mph wind blowing all day. Cost me two double bogeys; total of 6 Strokes Had. fozcycle, mbrodeur86 and MattF 3 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
