Hey all,

 

Been a reader for a little while after stumbling accross one of your reviews and havn't really left since lol. Decided to finally join up and join in on some of the discussions after seeing some of the contests that came up.

 

Anyway, I'm a 23 year old bloke from aus and have been playing golf since i was about 5. I was lucky enough to have a father and grnadfather who both played and would baby sit my on the golf course when they played each Saturday. Played all through my junior years winning a couple of things for my schools and pennant for my clubs, then had an injury.

 

Managed to snap the head off of an old 3 iron as i hit the ball at a school outing to the driving range. Resulted in torn soft tissue through my right shoulder and torn tendon sheaths in my wrist. Suffice to say i took a few years off after that to focus on finishing year 12 and starting my engineering degree.

 

Started playing again a couple years back and bagged my first club championship 2 years ago, and hope to win a few more while striving to get below scratch and head for the course record.

 

I currently work as an engineer for a major military contractor working on naval warships which is fantastic, but doesn't leave a lot of time outside of work and seeing my other half to practise much lol.

I'd live there solely for the golf. While there, I played the National, Moonah Links, Anglesea Golf Club (with about 10,000,000 million kangaroos) and the Dunes Links. The National and Moonah courses were insane. Wind, lightning quick huge greens. On the former I hit a 3 wood on the green on a par 5 and it caught a sloped, rolled off the green to the 150 yard marker.

lol Barbajo, if i ever run into her I'll be sure to mention it.

 

I can say pretty much the same thing about Sydney MattF lol, although I have to admit heading down to Bondi for a holiday is very nice.

 

And Bestgrips the golf down here is to die for thanks to our nice little sandbelt. I have been previously a member at Woodlands which has held the Aus masters and heaps of the Victorian opens, and although I havnt had the chance to play all the courses you listed, I have played the Dunes and that is great fun :)

aotearoabrad, I have to admit I missed the blackcaps play the indians, been a little busy watching us put away the english :P I love New Zealand though and can't wait to get back to Queenstown to snowboard again this year!
