SCOR/Hogans

Leaving my private club membership behind means some more equipment dollars. It also means the SCOR 60 may retire.

Is there any SCOR user who has not the Hogan wedges. If so what are your impressions? I'm thinking of going 53/58. Also have any of you tried them in graphite.

I've got a 63 Hogan TK along with the Scor's. From address I can't tell the difference. I feel like it's an easy transition and most of the difference is just the name on the bottom. Aside from the shaft I don't think there would be any transition period. Plus you could always have the shaft from the Scor pulled and put in the Hogan.

Also PGA superstore still has Scor's for $80 if you want to stick with them.

I haven't bagged the SCOR wedges but have hit them alongside of my Hogan TKs and the only real difference is that the Hogans are not named SCOR.  I have the Recoil shafts in all my irons and they perform very well for me.  Not sure you would see any difference and as pointed out about PGASS has the SCOR wedges at a nice price.  I was told by the GM at the store near me that PGASS bought all the remaining inventory from SCOR when the team moved to start the new Hogan.

I received an email from Hogan yesterday about a wedge trial. I'm thinking of doing it. I should really replace my 53 as well, it's pretty beat up. I may just call Hogan later today and bite the bullet.

I'm ridiculously good with the 60 so it's scary to pull it out of the bag but honestly I will hardly use it where I will be playing the bulk of my rounds going forward.

I'm curious about the Hogans myself.  Let me know how they play if you end up going with them.

But at the same time, as Foz said, why go Hogan when you pick up brand new Scors for $70 at the PGA Superstore?

I didn't try the TK wedges, but a few months ago I got an opportunity to hit a 42 Ft. Worth with the Recoil 680 against my SCOR 42 with the Genius 9 graphite.  I prefer the Genius shaft over the Recoil.  It had better feel and launched higher which I like.
