New Ben Hogan Ft. Worth Blacks now available

Barbajo's blog post last week got me salivating, well, they are now available on Ben Hogan Co. website.

I've been demoing the original Ft. Worth 31* and 43* and both are easier to hit then their appearance would lead many to believe. The v sole is ingenious, I was at the range purposely hitting shots from divots and no fat or thin, just solid shots. It's mentioned that the Ft Worth Blacks have an updated sole design, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

The Blacks are some seriously sexy clubs though!

I'm sending my Ft. Worth demos back today, the KBS Tour 90 was definitely too high a flyer for me but I'm sticking the C Taper lites in mine.

Talking with the Ben Hogan customer service rep yesterday he said the enhanced v sole of the new Blacks is very similar to the current Ft. Worth irons.

I asked if there were any intentions of making the TK wedges in black, he said not at this time, so it looks like the Equalizer wedges are gonna be their only wedge offering once the TK's are sold out.

Saw this On Facebook and asked LH?? The reply was no, but check out the PTx line. If wanted the PTx I would have not asked about the Fort Worth in Black. Anyway, I knew they wouldn't have them in LH, but they should.

I was finally able to hit my Ft Worths today. The dispersion was solid on most hits from 35* (7i) to 47* (E) ;)

I am so pleased with the incredible feel and consistent ball flight. First day out of the gate but I am very much looking forward to seeing what kind of fun I can have with them.

Is that wink because you have a 35* and I don't ?!?! Are you rubbing it in !?!?

Glad to hear you are liking the Ft. Worths. I hit the normal 31* next to my Hi 31* and both were easy to hit but the Hi was super easy to hit high and long. The Hi has the Recoil 680 Stiff graphite shaft, first time I had graphite in irons. I might keep the Recoils in Hi irons and put C Taper Lites in the standard irons.

Wait....I will look on their site, but are y'all saying we can order demos?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, for $20 to cover shipping they will send you a mid and short iron for 14 days of testing. I don't know if they have the Blacks available for demo yet, but they should soon.

Got into a discussion on Facebook with Ben Hogan Golf about these, one guy commented how they have no love for Lefties. Then BHG came back with we have them in the PTx and TK wedges and such.

My reply was basically this. As Lefties we want the same things as RH golfers, good equipment and good prices. bhG has put out some quality equip for good prices. As a lefty we get that making them in LH doesn't make good business sense, but that doesn't mean we don't want them.

I'm about to order a TK wedge to try. Maybe two, thinking the 44 and 48 or 48 and 52.

Anyone know if there is a difference between the Ft Worth 44 and the TK 44?

Here is a side by side my 47's. The TK15 (top) and Ft. Worth (bottom). Head shape is different the Ft. Worth has the line or crease extending out into the perimeter weighting from the red line of the logo while the TK15 doesn't have that crease at all.

"Forged" is stamped at different spots but that's just an aesthetic difference.IMG_20180508_153630.jpeg

Haven't hit the Ft. Worth as it is too short. They look exactly the same from address though.
